Reintroduction - Keto/PCOS
Hi friends! After a six month plateau (before which I lost 35 lb), I’m ramping up my efforts and going full keto. I’m 26 years old, married, working full time and taking classes towards a masters degree part time. I have PCOS, which is why I think keto will be effective. Be my friend?

Calling all those not living in the U.S.
Hey everyone, I recently started a blog (www.corporatecavewoman.com), and I want to learn more about workouts from around the world. If you want to tell me about how you and your friends work out and maybe even provide pictures, please message me here, and we can exchange emails. Thank you!

Keto - fat bombs - no sweetener
Hey all, My husband and I recently started keeping a paleo-style keto, which essentially rules out all sweeteners. I came up with a recipe for chocolate fat bombs to have as office snacks which have only butter, coconut oil, cacao powder, and vanilla extract. Does anyone else have any recipes?

Book recommendations
Hey everyone, I'm considering a career pivot into the wellness/food industry (right now I work in B2B marketing), but I'm looking to read more about the industry as a whole. What are your favorite books about food that aren't cookbooks? Thank you!

30 min ab and back workout?
Any suggestions? Looking for a good ab and back circuit to do at the gym for 20-30 min.

Workout plan advice
Hi all, Some context about myself: I'm 5' and have lost about 31 lb in the past year and a half (from 165 lb to 133ishlb), with about 20 pounds more to go. I also learned how to work out and gained a lot of muscle in this time, although I haven't been able to really quantify that. I try to eat around 1350 calories a day…

Fat bombs?

Paleo + Keto
Hey all, Any suggestions for how to calibrate my macros for a paleo + keto diet? I've been keeping a mostly paleo diet for a while and want to add a keto component, since my weight loss has plateaued. I figure that I need to cut out some fruit and sweet potatoes, but I'd like some concrete numbers to work with. Please, no…

Rest days
How many rest days do you take per week? Are those days totally sedentary or lightly active (e.g. walking, yoga, etc.)?

Conditioning question
Pardon my ignorance here... My gym categorizes classes into categories such as yoga, dance, running, athletic training, and conditioning. Athletic training is typically mostly cardio but often involves some weight component. Right now, my typical schedule is yoga 1-2 times a week, athletic training 2-3 times a week, and…

Cold all the time!
I've lost about 30 lb over the past year, but I'm still technically overweight (137 lb at 5 feet). I exercise 5-6 days a week (a mixture of cardio, conditioning, and yoga) and try to keep my calories around 1300 a day. Recently, I've noticed that I'm freezing all the time! Has this happened to anyone else? Have you just…

Fitness tracker recommendations
Hey all, I'm thinking about replacing my watch with a fitness tracker. My primary motivation is wanting to better understand how many calories I burn during my fitness classes, so I can come up with a more solid diet plan. However, I wouldn't be opposed to accurate sleep and step tracking. It's also important that the…

Desk job people!
How do you stay active throughout the day, apart from your workouts? If you're counting steps, how do you get them in?

Short girls and calories
Hey short girls, What are your weight loss goals and what are your daily calorie goals? Do you exercise? About how much weight are you losing per week? I'm trying to recalibrate a bit so that I can speed up my weight loss a bit -- I've been losing about 2-3 pounds per month for the last year or so, and I upped my exercise…

What do you do on hungry days?
Maybe you did a killer strength training workout. Maybe you've been sitting at a desk for too long and are getting antsy. Maybe it's the stress. What do you do to stay under your calories on days when you just can't seem to get full?

Doing things that make you uncomfortable
Getting into exercising involves a lot of doing things that make you feel weak or horrible or awkward in the moment. How have you overcome these feelings? I've been trying to convince myself to go to dance cardio -- I'm in decent shape, but can't follow choreography to save my life. Have you had an experience like this…

Cutting coffee?
Has anyone ever tried cutting down or back entirely on coffee? How has it been for you?

Anyone else halfway there?
This can feel like the hardest part. You've already made so much progress, but there's so much left to go. The weight loss slows, and you constantly need to up it. My initial goal was 45 pounds. I'm about 25 pounds down now, but it's taken me a year, and 20 pounds is still a lofty goal for me. Anyone else in a similar…

Pilates
Any experienced Pilates practitioners with advice to a newbie? I tried my first classical class in a while yesterday, and it was miserable -- basically because my core strength is really lacking, possibly a consequence of having bad form in boot camp. How can I convince myself to keep coming back?

Energy bars -- paleo and otherwise -- causing nausea
I was wondering if any of you may have some insight into this....no matter which energy bars I try, whether RxBars or Julian's Bakery paleo protein (both of which are technically paleo), I feel this uncomfortable low-grade nausea for a couple of hours after. I've looked at the ingredients, and none of them seem like they…

Julian's Bakery
Anyone else try their products? I had a vanilla pudding protein bar for the first time today. Extremely hard to chew but good flavor.

Fitness class obsessors
Anyone else here who attends a ton of fitness classes? I'm obsessed! What are your favorites? And how do you manage a balanced schedule, with classes that work on cardio, strength, and flexibility, so that you have a well-rounded routine? Asking because after a year doing 4 days a week of boot camp, I've joined a gym with…

Young professionals (21-35)
Hey all! I'm recently back here after a long break. I gained 20 lb in my last job, and it look me almost a year to lose the weight (plus a little more). Now I'm hoping to lose another 20 before my wedding next year. I keep a paleo diet and do boot camp workouts 2-3 times a week and try to supplement with spinning or…

Whole 30 breakfast ideas?
Ideally portable...my fiancé and I keep a restricted version of paleo (so no sweeteners) and eat hard boiled eggs and fruit most days after our workouts.

165 to 143
Last January, I started a new job after leaving an intense former position that often left me in tears. My new job was also much closer to my home, and I could no longer blame my commute for my not working out. I started boot camp classes and keeping a paleo diet with my now-fiancé. I started at 165 and now weigh around…

Exercising and losing weight with a back injury
Hi all! Over the last year, I've lost over 20 pounds, and I'd like to lose 20 more in the next year. However, I injured my back doing a squat with a kettle bell last week and it still hurts. I've worked on a few times since then (mostly spinning and one boot camp class) but the pain has gotten really bad in the last two…

How to make running less miserable
I started running about 8 weeks ago using the Couch to 5K app. Due to some pitfalls, I'm still in the progression from Week 6, but I would like to be able to run a 10K by the end of the summer (14 week plan from 0). However, I find that even though I can run 8-10 straight minutes now, it's still miserable! Do you have any…

Food to clear up skin?
Hey everyone, I'm 22 years old, and I've had terrible skin for most of my adult life, apart from when I've taken medication. Right now, I'm living abroad with no access to my medications, and I have a bad reaction to antibiotics. I eat very few carbs, almost no gluten, and not even so much dairy. I'm a vegetarian, so the…

Reintroducing Myself--American in Europe
Hey everyone, I want to reintroduce myself, because I need some new inspiration. I'm currently a Ph.D. student living in the Netherlands for the semester and originally from New York. My goal is to get down to a size 0/2, and I'm currently at a solid 4. Even though the Netherlands is the country that was voted this year to…

Slipping :( Dukan Diet
Hey everyone! I had lost a fair amount of weight over the summer (10 pounds on my 5-foot not-that-overweight frame) with yoga and diet. However, I gained most of it back (about 7 pounds) from general stress. I'm moving to the Netherlands for a research fellowship for 3 months in February, and I will be doing a lot of…
