Logging in Fitbit and MFP = double entry?
My Fitbit is linked to MFP. I noticed this week, this is my first time using both, that when I log in MFP, it shows up on the fitbit site. But if I log in Fitbit, it doesn't show up in MFP. If I log in both MFP and fit bit, however, it doubles up in fit bit. Any recommendations as to which one I should really use for…

Progesterone and hip/leg pain?
I exercise quite a lot - about 10-12 hours of ballet classes (essentially daily classes) plus gym for weight training upper body and some cardio for stamina. I've been put on progesterone due to hormone issues - hypothyroidism, etc. While I love that my flexibility has returned, I'm experiencing hip/psoas pain that doesn't…

calorie deficit question
I was looking at the digest for the week. I noticed that my calorie goal was 9940. I burned 4479 in exercise. I ate 13144 calories. Does that mean that I only had a deficit of about 1200 calories for the week?

Fitbit adding to MFP for exercise calories...
I put my fitbit and MFP to sync together. Now, I HAD only been using MFP and a heart rate monitor that hadn't been synced with it. I find that FITBIT adds all sorts of exercise cals in addition to any workout I do (which is strenuous, daily ballet class for the time being). I am aware of eating back exercise calories for…

Getting enough protein?
I am celiac and also have to be lactose and dairy free. I have noticed that I've been at least 50 to 75 g under my protein requirement on my exercise days. Any ideas how I can get in enough protein without adding too many calories?

Fitbit Alta and MFP
How can I see what MFP has entered after it syncs with the Fitbit? I have the two connected but the app doesn't seem to have what is actually on my Fitbit.

Adding tongue-absorbed B12.
I have celiac disease. And hypothyroidism. Am on 75 mcg Synthroid and 15mcg Cytomel. I spent almost my entire break sleeping. I had blood tests and saw my GP yesterday. Numbers are good. I have to admit that sometimes I have added an extra Cytomel to my dosage (GP said I could) but have found it made very little…

"Prosperi-T" with synthroid/cytomel?
This is a product I came across in my local natural food store. It contains L-Tyrosine, ashwagandha, thyroid (thyroxin free bovine), forslean (coleus forskohili root), and kelp. It also has selenium and a smallish amount of zinc. Any thoughts on this?

Exercise and hypothyroidism confusion
I am hearing and reading so much conflicting advice regarding the kind of exercises I should be doing to keep up my stamina. I have pretty much given up trying to lose weight. But I would like to have more stamina. I have read on the one hand that cardio exercise will make my hypothyroidism worse. I have also read that it…

Ashwagandha?
Does anyone who is on synthroid use this? If so, when do you take it? What dose do you use? What do you feel are the effects? Thanks in advance!

How to deal with exercise calories with hypo?
Hi everyone, In the olden days, I was told to eat back the exercise calories to lose weight, so as not to go into starvation mode. I lost 50 pounds on that system. Then the hypo hit. I have been exercising regularly, but just ballet classes, due to the exhaustion issues. I have now been back to the gym a few times and come…

Nonprescription thyroid help?
A friend has classic Hashimoto's symptoms but the doctor said her numbers aren't bad enough for Synthroid treatment. I read somewhere either here or on a FB hypothyroidism site that there was a natural supplement that can treat hypo situations. Does anyone know what it is called? Thanks in advance.

Low Thyroid!!!
Well, I had posted about exercising, eating right and GAINING weight instead of losing - significant amount of weight. Just got my blood tests back. I have a very low thyroid and, for a female, almost no male hormone at all (we all have it - should have about 30-80 count but I only have 4!!!). Add in all the fatigue, body…

Changing Polar FT40 battery!!!???
I have to change the battery in the transmitter since it is now a hit-or-miss transmitting to the watch. BUT, I can't get the danged thing open. I used a coin but it's stuck tight. Any suggestions? S.

"Slimmer You" opinions please?
I am interested in hearing what others have to say if they used this product. I had the trial but found no results. Because I was also exercising heavily, I cannot tell if the appetite curb was due to the product or simply due to the effects of the exercise. Thanks for all opinions. Please, if you have not used the…

How do I get more protein?
Hello, I'm celiac and also lactose-intolerant and allergic. I need to get in about 140-150 grams of protein a day but don't know how to get it all. At present, I'm lucky if I manage 80isn. I also suffer from hypothyroidism - treated with a plethora of meds. Any ideas? I can't just do protein supplements or bars due to the…

Cardio/Stamina question
Hello All, I have a question regarding strength/cardio/ballet training. Recently, I upped my ballet training to about 3-5 hours per day. Because of this, I've cut out the cardio I usually do at the gym. I try to do weights for upper and lower body (targeting muscles that aren't worked in ballet) at least twice a week.…

Tasted and rejected....
Arctic Zero ice cream. I tried two flavors - chocolate and vanilla-maple. Vanilla-maple was just barely tolerable. Chocolate was so bad I threw away the container after only a few spoonfuls. 150 calories PER PINT....and it tastes like it, too. VERY disappointed.... Ah well. Back to coconut milk/soy Purely Decadent. *sigh*

calories burned accurate?
Okay. Tried this under another topic and had no response whatsoever so I'm trying it under this one. I have a HRM. Have used HRMs for a few years, although this one is somewhat new to me. It's about a year old, at least. Anyway, I'm quite fit and for the past few months, noticed that calories burned were significantly…

Polar FT40 battery-type question - please help
I recently changed the battery in my wrist unit of my polar FT40 due to it showing low charge. Over the past couple of months, I'd noticed that I was not getting calorie count that I used to get for various exercises but I am quite fit, so figured that that was the reason. Last night was the first night with the new…

Put on a ballet skirt for pointe class last night for just about the first time in years and was told by the very honest teens in the class that it made me look THINNER!! :0)

FINALLY! A downward movement again!
After the weight's been going up and up, despite increased exercise and watching the food (AND following the "eat the exercise cals" commands), I FINALLY saw a downward movement on the scale. I've a feeling my muscles were holding water or something. I was told by a knowledgeable friend that I might see a gain after going…

Body Aches....
I know, I know.... I do a lot of exercise. I dance 22+ hours (ballet) a week right now and I'm, well, a somewhat overweight middle-aged female probably entering menopause. So, I can't sleep often due to my body just aching and aching. I mean down the legs, the ankles, toe spasms (yes, I do pointe work), hips. My back seems…

Unsure of what's happening
After not having much success with the new WW program (points plus - I'd lost nearly 50 pounds on the previous WW), I decided to see what would happen if I switched to solely using MFP (had used them together, before). I've gained!! I'm opening my diary for a time (hope I can close it again should I want). I did more…

Back to the gym today!
For the past 4 weeks or so (minus the one week where I was doing tourist things), all I've done is standard ballet classes - about 20+ hours each week, to the tune of 5000+ exercise calories per week (I use a HRM). Haven't lost much, if anything. My schedule made it hard for me to find the time to GO to the gym. I'd had…

I think I'll just go with it....
I think I'm going to actually REST today and NOT go to the gym. I over-ate, but I'm not all that concerned as I've already done 3500 exercise calories since Saturday. I'm tired. I'd PLANNED to do weights then go to the jacuzzi but I'm really just not into it... Not going to ask if I should go - because I know I won't take…
-
HRM Battery-type question....
I accidentally left the watch part of my Polar FT40 on all night - the thing was ticking the time but, of course, was not receiving anything because I'd finished exercising long before. This morning, it read the proper cals for yesterday, but showed 19 hours of exercise. I found that amusing, but since I go by cals and…

I guess I know what you're going to say but I'm going to ask
I'm not a fan of exercise, although I do a heck of a lot of it. My fitness level is very good. I train in ballet 12 hours a week and do 4-5 hours of cross-training at the gym - weights 1-2 times a week, cardio for each visit. I use the gym to warm up for ballet classes, in fact. My ballet classes range from 1.5-3 hours per…

Is a flat tummy POSSIBLE at my age???
I keep wondering. I remember what I was like in my teens and part of my 20s, before I gained mega-pounds and kept it on for nearly 20 years. I'm now a size 8 (down from 18 - an elasticated 18!) but I don't have a flat belly. I have very strong abs from both exercise at the gym and around 12 hours of ballet classes a week.…
