HRM Battery-type question....

I accidentally left the watch part of my Polar FT40 on all night - the thing was ticking the time but, of course, was not receiving anything because I'd finished exercising long before.

This morning, it read the proper cals for yesterday, but showed 19 hours of exercise. I found that amusing, but since I go by cals and sessions, it wasn't an issue.

BUT, have I lost a lot of battery power due to this continuous use? When/how will know when the battery does die? I had a bad experience replacing my watch battery with my F4 so I don't want to mess it up if I have to replace it again.

Thanks!
S.
