16 Weeks
In 16 weeks I'll be traveling out to the Mojave for a 5-day event. I went last year and had a blast, but I was also at the tail end of recovery from ankle surgery. This year, I want to be in much better shape so I can handle the heat easier, be more helpful with setup/teardown, and look cuter. I have a habit of starting…

Broken Ankle
Just as I was getting back into a regular gym routine after con crunch, I broke my ankle. Trimalleolar fracture, had to have surgery. It'll be 4 more weeks (at least) before I can start putting weight on my ankle. I've already lost an inch around my calf, and an inch and a half around the lower part of my thigh. How can I…

Stamina Issues
Hey guys. So I've been going to a CrossFit gym for almost 2 months (although I had about 2.5 weeks away on business, and I was a lazy pile and didn't exercise...). On Wednesday when I went to the gym, I was doing burpees and got so out of breath and felt faint and couldn't hear properly. I knew it was going to be a tough…

DC Squad Up
My sister is in a costume contest to win a trip to San Diego Comic Con. Care to check out her entry and leave a vote? And if you REALLY like her costume, you can vote once every hour. Anastasia for Enchantress :] http://bit.ly/296YtFy

Just got dumped...
My boyfriend broke up with me a week ago, and I've decided it's time to renew my dedication to getting healthy and in shape. In the three years we had dated I yo-yo-ed between the same 20 pounds, never able to get more than 2 or 3 pounds under where I was when we had started going out together. He didn't care about…

Meal Planning
So I've decided to earn a new adult badge and start weekly meal plans. I mostly just need to plan dinners, but weekend lunches are also a possibility. I figure this will not only help me with grocery shopping (so I don't come home with just a bunch of random things), but also with my calories. Dinner is always my downfall…

Looking for a mentor
I'm hoping to find a mentor, preferably a female that went from being overweight most of her life to being fit, who can help guide me through the process of getting healthier. I want to be stronger, have more energy/stamina, and feel confident about my body. It would be awesome to have someone who's been there/done that to…

Should I exercise if...
My calorie intake is barely above 1,200? My calorie goal is 1,500. Lately I've been bringing fruits and salad to work for lunch. The past couple days I've had pretty high calorie dinners, so it's come out to just around my BMR. But tonight for an event I pre-logged my dinner, and even being pretty generous with my food…

Isometric Exercises
Hi everyone! So I'm getting back on the horse for what feels like the billionth time...But I'm pretty motivated this time around! This time, my plan is to exercise 5x a week (20-30 minutes of cardio, then free weights and some bodyweight exercises like crunches and squats) and keep a tighter leash on my calorie intake. I'd…

Losing weight when I don't think I should be losing
So this is kind of the opposite post that I tend to see on here....Lately I've been consistently losing weight even on days that I've eaten at or above maintenance. What's up? I'm super happy about it, but I'm just curious as to why that's happening. For example, yesterday I weighed 192.8 (weighed in the morning, no…

P90 Program
Last year I bought the P90 DVD set. Never touched it. Today I've decided to start the program in an effort to actually attain my fitness goals. I'm looking for some insight from people who have done the program before. About how fit were you before starting the program? What was your height/weight? How long did it take to…

Calorie Goals
We're all at different start weights and have different goals for the month. But I'm curious as to what your daily calorie goals are. I'm starting at 196 and hoping to drop 10 pounds this month. Right now I have my daily calorie goal at 1400 (I change it every now and then...). How about you?

Struggles and Work-arounds
We all have weak spots when it comes to diet and exercise, otherwise we wouldn't be looking to lose weight. I was hoping to start a thread where we can talk about our particular weaknesses and discuss how to overcome them or get around them together! Kind of like an interactive "Eat This, Not That" but with tips for…

Grocery Shopping
What do your grocery lists typically look like? I need ideas for healthy dinners and lunches that I can take to work. So far all I have on my list is chicken, vegetables, and salad. That just seems so dull... What are some healthy foods that you frequently get?

Water
So I try to get at least 8 cups of water a day, but what I've found is that I typically drink my water while at work (between 8am and 5pm), and then don't drink any water after that. Should I work on spacing out my water intake or does it matter?

Working out before breakfast
I've heard that it's good for fat loss, but obviously you can't trust everything you read on the internet. So I'm coming to the internet to find out if it's true or if it even matters when you exercise and eat. Anyone knowledgable on this? :]

Mexican food? D:
Tonight my roommate and I are hosting game night. Cool, sweet, awesome. It's also a potluck. Again, fun. But the theme is Mexican. I already had a terrible, super high calorie Italian meal last night, so I don't want to have another ruined day. I have 600 calories left for the day. What kind of Mexican foods/portions can I…

Twin needed - 23yo 5'10" 185 lbs SW 120 lbs GW
Hey there! Looking for someone with similar height/weight. Preferably a similar lifestyle as well. I work a desk job, so I'm on my butt most of the day. However recently I've been very good about starting to exercise regularly. I have an elliptical in my apartment so I'm mostly focusing on cardio and building up my…

Mini-vacation
This weekend my boyfriend and I are celebrating our first anniversary. It's a big deal to both of us, since this is the longest and most successful either of us has ever had, so we wanted to do something special. Because I just started a new job, I can't really ask for time off yet to take a legitimate vacation. But…

TDEE vs. MFP
I know there have been other threads for this, but I haven't quite found the answers I'm looking for, so I'm making my own. MFP says my daily calories should net at 1200. Okay. But my TDEE is apparently between 1990-2005. I'm not sure which to follow here. I work a desk job, but I'm trying to exercise as regularly as…

What did you bring for lunch today?
I'm curious to see people's lunch choices on this site. Today I'm eating leftover andong jjimdak (homemade) and a cup of kimchi. You?

Buying fitness equipment
I've decided to buy some fitness equipment so I can work out at home rather than go to a gym. Free weights and resistance bands are easy enough since those don't have moving components, but I'm looking to get an elliptical as well. And it's there that I've run into a slight snag. I don't want to buy one of the $1,000…

Finding the Time
How do you guys fit exercise into your daily lives? Between work, family, boyfriend, friends, and hobbies, I'm finding it difficult to get regular exercise into my schedule.

How do you get your exercise?
Do you exercise at a gym or at home? Do you run outside or own exercise equipment? Do you exercise before or after work? What about exercising DURING work? How much time do you typically spend exercising?

Workouts you do at your desk
I've only recently started working in an office, so I'm pretty new to the idea of "deskercising". But I've been trying to find a few ways to keep decently active while at work. I drink a lot of water, so I get up to refill my cup or walk to the restroom, and that's okay, but I still spend most of my time on my butt. I…
