Bluetooth Compatible HRMs
I'm looking into getting a bluetooth compatible heart rate monitor. The two I have looked into so far: Polar Wearlink+ Bluetooth Zypher HxM From reviews I've read, the Polar's major downside is battery life. However, it is currently the only one that works w/ Cardiotrainer, the app that I currently prefer to use on my…

Tried cutting...
...and I think my body really likes maintenance calories. I'm HUNGRY! (I can't believe I every lived off of 1200 calories!!) Too bad I still need to lose 17 lbs. :grumble: Okay, so if I create a tinier deficit of say... 50 calories a day... I can be at my goal weight in 3.26 years. That's not so bad, right? :glasses:

Netting my BMR (Not your normal question)
 Okay, so my BMR is 1490, my TDEE is 2025, and I eat 2225 (additional 200 calories to account for the nursing my toddler still does once a day). So, since I am still nursing, do I am to net 1490, or 1690 on my exercise days? I've been trying to hit 1690. Of course, it is generally not an issue unless I have a huge…

I'm promoting this like crazy!
After writing explanations to many friends about the eating more philosophy, I finally composed my own little blog post about it (obviously pointing people to this great group)... I'm so happy with EATING that I want the whole world to start eating again too!…

4 Weeks In at Maintenance Cals...
Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since I started eating more. I have been eating what I calculated as my FULL maintenance TDEE plus an addiitonal 200 calories for the small amount that my toddler still breastfeeds in an effort to reset my metabolism after a very long time of eating 1200 cals while training for a half marathon! I…

Lifting Videos
Does anybody know of any youtube videos, etc., that show some of the good lifting exercises in good form? I mean, I can just go search videos, but I wouldn't know good form if it bit me.

So apparently I'm healthier than I look...
I finally plugged all my numbers into the body fat calculator at fat2fit radio, and to my surprise the 31.4% (military says 32.8%) it came up with is considered well within the "healthy" range for my age (31). When I use a BMI calculator I'm also at the top end of the "healthy" range. Too bad I still look gross in a…

Stupid Carbs... I'm starving!
I've had a bad carb day/ not enough protein. I'm starving, but only have 56 calories left. To think this time last week I felt completely stuffed on this many calories... and there is SERIOUSLY no food in my house. Kiddo skipped his nap and fell asleep super early, to the detriment of my planned grocery shopping. I think…

What do you measure...?
I'm going to try and dig out a measuring tape this evening and measure myself so I can track inches as well as pounds (incidentally, I'm down 3 lbs since I started "stuffing myself" three days ago... bizarre and amazing). Anyway, what all should I measure?

New Here!
I'm brand new to eating more to weigh less. I've been stalled out for months at a 1200 net calorie diet because that was what MFP told me I needed to be eating. Dumb dumb dumb! My goal is to eat at my full TDEE for a few weeks to restore my metabolism, which is 2082 before exercise calories (includes an additional…

Any other Vegetarians here?
Even adding whey protein a couple of times a day, I am not really getting close to the 170 g I need to be eating (although doing much better than the 30g I was squeezing in back in my 1200 cal days).

Help Motivate me! So much effort, so little results...
 2.5 years post-baby and I'm still 10 lbs over my pre-baby weight, and 25 lbs over my ideal weight. And it is not for lack of trying. I exercise regularly, and maintain a net calorie intake of around 1200/ day. In fact, over the last several months I have trained for and completed a half-marathon race, with…

WHEN should I eat my exercise calories?
I usually exercise at night, typically before dinner. If I know that I am going to go for a run that will burn 800 calories that evening, should I try and "pre-eat" the extra calories earlier in the day? I obviously don't want to try and cram in a 1200 calorie dinner right before bed. Or should I just try and make them up…
