HRM and Blood Pressure
Does anyone know of an HRM that also measure blood pressure? I can't seem to find any online, maybe I'm not looking in the right spot? Or maybe I don't understand the technology, and it simply doesn't exist? Thanks!

Avoiding Junk Food Binges
I received this in my email and thought I'd share it on the forums. 1. Clean all the junk food out of your home. Think of the stereotypical image of the woman getting dumped by her boyfriend and climbing into bed with a tub of Ben & Jerry's®. If that tub wasn't in the freezer to begin with, odds are that our…

Egg Question
Why do some people only eat half their egg? I keep seeing comment after comment about eating just egg whites. Why wouldn't people eat the yolk too, when that's where most of the nutrients are? Is there a dietary reason that I am missing, or just a taste preference?

Any good recipes for ground beef and rice?
I'm a day before payday, and I have half a pound of ground beef, some rice, and some broth. All the online recipes I am seeing call for cajun or other spices that my husband can't eat. (He has Crohn's.) Anyone have any suggestions?

Exercise During Tom (potential TMI)
Ladies, do you still exercise if you are having painful cramps? If so, does it help? I remember the P.E. teacher used to say that it was a myth to not exercise during Tom, but I had my mom get me a note from the doctor. Sometimes I used to stay home from school because it hurt so much. Since I had two c-sections, I don't…

Resistance Training Without Spending Money
Any idea on this? I am new to all of this, and I am on a very tight budget for the next few months. Since I have no extra funds for a gym or home equipment, I have been doing all the "freebie" exercises, that is, walking, jogging, crunches, pushes, leg lifts, etc. I keep hearing about how resistance training is important…

It doesn't matter what diet you choose!
http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa0804748 Just a brief rant. Everyone is different, and we have have the right to make our own choices in life, especially the right to choose what we put in our own bodies. The link above is a study from the New England Journal of Medicine that shows it doesn't matter which diet…

Losing too fast?
I am uber excited for losing 19 pounds, of course, but I am not sure if I am losing too fast. This is really the first time in my life that I have tracked my food and exercise and made an effort to lose weight. I basically was on the "see food diet" and doing the "Couch clutch/web surfing" for exercise before. I'm sure…

First Time dieters?
I know a lot of people have been trying a variety of diets for a number of years. Is there anyone else who just now decided to lose weight for the first time? My whole life I have eaten whatever I wanted. When I was young, I was so active that I burned it all off. Then I had two kids and got older and sedentary. I am just…

Looking for friends with 100+ to lose
Hello! I have just been using MFP for less than one week. I only recently decided that it was time to take control of my body. For many years I was in denial as to how big I was gettting. My first week has gone well so far. I am looking for some weight-loss friends to help me stick to it. I tend to get gung-ho about things…
