too much fat? not enough carbs?
Well, I've been tracking every bite for the last three days and am definitely noticing a trend. While I have no problem staying under my calorie goal, I am consistently way too high on fat and protein and low on carbs. I am Ok about the protein because I am trying to gain muscle and have read that extra protein is good for…

Glad to be back
So around Thanksgiving, I decided I wanted a break from calorie counting. I intended on a momentary respite from the rigors of dieting accountability. Well its been about three months of fast food binging and zero exercise. The damage: The scale says five pounds and a 1.8% increase in body fat. I tend to think my body…

Taking a break from it all
I haven't logged my calories for a few days and have been eating whatever I want and not making exercise a requirement. I think I was fixating a little too much on my body. I means what's the point if you aren't enjoying the journey. I think its Ok to take a detour every now and then. I have every intent to get back on the…

Lesson Learned: One bad day does not matter a hill of beans
I had been doing pretty good with watching my calories until a birthday celebration about a week ago. On that day, I went hog wild and ate over a thousand extra calories. The next day I steppedon the scale and found I was up over two pounds. I was disappointed and felt like I blew it. I posted on MFP the about it, and got…

I've got 1300 calories to blow, what should I do.
I played 36 holes of golf today, burning close to 2000 extra calories. I had a nice breakfast, a big lunch, a good dinner, and even a little treat. I still am under by 1300 calories. What should I do? Splurge on something tasty, go to bed with a big deficit, or force myself to eat something healthy eventhough I am not…

tapas logging nightmare
Well I had one half of about eight different tiny portions of dishes tonight, almost none of which is your standard fare. I did the best I could. MFP is just not meant for tapas restaurants. Took me more time to log the food than it did to eat it.

Diet Coke addiction
So tell me how bad it is that I drnk about 100 oz. of Diet Coke a day and hardly any water? Anybody been in my shoes? Any advice on cutting out this practice?

I blew it today
Due to time constraints and an oncoming cold, I took the day off from exercise. I was going to my dad's birthday party, so I ate light for breakfast and lunch, but I wasn't expecting to consume nearly two thousand calories between dinner, cake, and ice cream. Oh well, back on it tomorrow. I really need to avoid my parents…

Anybody got any goals for the month of November?
I want to log all my food and stay under calories every day in November. I want to lose at least 6 pounds and would be very happy if I can get my body fat percentage below 17%. I plan on increasing my high intensity cardio, which I have kind of been slacking on in favor of playing golf .

Great free weight loss tool.
I really enjoy listening to cutthefatpodcast.com audio segments each one is about half an hour and the hosts are very knowledgeable. There are about 30 of them. I listen to one each night at bedtime.

Anybody experiencing jealousy from friends?
I have a female friend who is a little overweight but still very beautiful. I have recently lost 25 pounds, going from 190 to 165. For a 5'8" man, that is still slightly overweight. I have been lifting weights and am starting to get stronger and more muscular. By no means am I thin. Yet this friend every time she sees me…

Watchng Sodium? Beware of Sushi!!!
Seems like MFP gives me a new revelation each day. I thought I did well with my diet today, until I looked at my figures and say I consumed over 5000 milligrams of sodium. As many of us know sodium leads to water retention and therefore bloating and higher weights on the scale, so I am watching it along with my calories…

What's the most you have burned?
I played golf this Sunday. 18 holes walking, carrying my bag. It took 3 hours 45 mins. I was shocked to find out I burned 1285 calories. Thats like a Big Mac and large fries, not that I would indulge in that nastiness. I didn't trust the calculator, so even though I did eat a lot of calories that day, I left 500 in the…

New member seeks fitness buddies
Hi, My name is Shep. I just joined MFP. I am a 5 foot 8, 29 yo, male. I currently weigh 171 and am looking to get down to 155 before I go into a bulking phase. I strength train 2x per week (once with a trainer and once on my own), I try to do cardio sessions for 30-60 minutes 3x per week - but hate it, I also play a lot of…
