"Fitbit calorie adjustment"
So I just connected my Fitbit tracker to my account. Not really sure how to use it...on the days I work out, since so many of my steps are from the workout, I should just count EITHER exercise or Fitbit, right? On days like today when I work (12 hour shifts), I had over 14,000 steps but none was aerobic exercise. Fitbit…

A fresh start
At my highest weight loss, I had lost 101 pounds. As of this morning, I've gained back 40 of it. A few months ago, I went through a divorce and it just set me into a tailspin. Add that to a foot injury that's been preventing me from running, and it's not been pretty. I need to get back on track. I want to get back on…

What's your lifting routine?
I really, really need to start lifting more. My weight has been at a stand still for months, and I need some major toning. I belong to a gym but can only go at the most 4 days a week, sometimes less. What do you do? Any easy routines I can do at home? Thanks!

New scrubs....XXL to Medium! (pics)
So back in fall of 2010, I looked like this in scrubs. Today, like this!

What running blogs do you like to read?
I'm starting to really get into running. I've done a bunch of 5Ks and am running my first 10K next month. I thought I might be interested in reading some running blogs. Which are your favorites?

My story to 100 pounds lost! (pics)
I have struggled with my weight since college. In high school, I was very athletic, so I could eat what I wanted but not gain. I didn't keep active in college, ate what I wanted and weighed around 180 pounds when I graduated (I'm 5'5".) I moved out on my own and started exercising and eating better. When I was 24, I…

Kettlebells vs. medicine balls
Thinking about asking for a kettlebell or a medicine ball for Christmas...really need to start working on my core. What do you think would be best?

Glucosamine & Chondroitin
I've been running quite a bit more than usual and my knees are feeling it! They aren't too painful but sore at times. Someone suggested taking Glucosamine & Chondroitin supplements. Don't know much about them...who takes them and have they helped you? Any negative effects? Thanks!

Pictures don't lie!
Pictures are HUGE for me. They show lots of progression, even when the scale hasn't moved down (and for me, it's been almost 2 months (!) since that has happened!) So I wanted to look at some pictures to see how I've changed. Pardon my mess in most of these as I had just finished working out. :) This one is from March…

Dressing up! (pics)
I don't dress up much. I'm a nurse, so scrubs at work, and t shirts, shorts and jeans at home. Plus, when you're very overweight, who wants to dress up. But I did today...new dress for my wedding anniversary. The first picture is a few years ago. The second, today.

Working my way up to a 10K
I am planning on running my first 10K in February. I did C25K to start running, and I've run about 5 or 6 5Ks in the past 7 months. Planning on running one a month until February. My question is, do I need to do any specific training to get to the 10K endurance level? Is Bridge to 10K worth it? Is there another program…

Any success stories who still struggle?
Long story short, I've been successful. Lost 100 pounds, but still need to lose about 25-30 more. But what sucks is that even with this weight loss, I STILL struggle with my eating. I'm an emotional/stress eater, and I had hoped that would change once I lost weight. But it's still there. I guess it's always going to be…

Need to work my abs more!
I have super weak abs. Need a good ab workout that I can add into my regular exercise routine. Suggestions?

Increasing muscle mass
I'm starting to think more and more about working to increase my lean muscle mass. I've lost a lot of weight, but I still have probably another 20-30 pounds to go until I get where I want to be, weight wise. Right now, my workouts consist of a lot of cardio (4x/week for at least an hour at a time, sometimes more), and 2-3…

Fitness NSV (running)!
My previous longest run was 5 miles...today I ran 7! Working on my endurance is going well, now need to work on my speed!

Training for a 10K
Planning on running my first 10K in February. I've run 5 5Ks so far (one being the Warrior Dash--an obstacle course) and I'm slow, but I didn't stop and I finished. :) Any recommendations on specific training exercises to build speed/endurance? I do have the Bridge to 10K app for my phone but I'm just wondering what has…

BIG NSV today!
Jogged straight for 5 miles at the gym today. The furthest I had jogged before that was close to 4 miles, so this was a lot further than that. Took me awhile (slightly over an hour) but SO happy that I did it!

Struggling a little bit pictures help!
I've lost between 80-90 pounds, depending on the day. Lately, I keep losing and gaining the same weight over and over. I know it's my eating, which has not been good lately, but I still see some changes. Thought I'd share. This first picture is about 2.5 months ago. I weighed 205 pounds. This next one is this morning. Look…

Food addiction
I truly think I have a food addiction. More accurately, a junk food/fast food addiction. I'm doing well now and have actually lost just over 80 pounds. But what I'm wondering is does the thinking about and wanting to eat junk ever go away? Or will it always be a struggle to keep eating healthy? And by eating junk, I mean a…

Lower carb intake
I'm wanting to lower my carb intake from what mfp recommends (I believe 55% of total intake) but I'm not sure what is a good amount. If you were wanting to be lower carb but not extremely low carb, what would you do?

Biggest Loser challenge--team 9
Thought I would post something this way and see if it works rather than sending multiple email messages. I'm fine with being team leader. Does anyone have ideas for a name yet? The only ones I've come up with are Biggest Losers (duh) and Go Big or Go Home. I'm not very creative! Anyone else?

65 pounds down!

Running shoes
I need to buy a new pair of shoes and I'm planning on getting running shoes since I'm starting to run more. Does anyone have any recommendations on brand/type, or do I just get what is comfortable and fits well? Thanks.

Heart rate monitors
I know it's been posted before, but asking again...what heart rate monitor do you use and why do you like it? Think I'm going to get one this week as an early Christmas present!

60 pounds down!
As of today, I've lost 60 pounds (20 pre-MFP) and I'm pretty happy about it! Having trouble posting pictures that aren't sideways but here's a link to my blog. You can find them there. http://txnurse97journey.blogspot.com

Net calories
I've read that net calories should not be below 1200, otherwise your body could go into starvation mode. Is this true? I'm really trying to limit my calories for the next few days because of not eating well earlier in the week, but should I still have at least 1200 net? Right now with my meals plugged in for the rest of…

Sad but still an important NSV
We had to put one of our dogs down yesterday. It wasn't totally unexpected, but still very difficult and sad. In the past, I would have gone straight from the vet office to a fast food place and then would have continued to eat my way through the day. But I actually didn't have any desire to do it. I've definitely changed,…

Anyone else feel like this?
I'm in a grumpy, bad mood today. I shouldn't be. Today was my weigh in day. I lost 1.5 pounds, and that means I've lost 34.5 pounds since starting MFP less than 3 months ago. I'm doing well. I know that. But I'm still bummed. I have about 70 more pounds to lose. I'm aiming for 1.5 pounds a week, which means it will take…
