I need to buy a new pair of shoes and I'm planning on getting running shoes since I'm starting to run more. Does anyone have any recommendations on brand/type, or do I just get what is comfortable and fits well? Thanks.

I recommend going to a running specialty store and get fitted. everyone has different types of feet, gait motion and some brands work for some people while others don't. for an example I have flat feet, size 15, double wide. Brooks, New Balance, Saucony, Mizhuno all make my shoes for my size and type. I found Brooks and New Balance worked the best for me.

Go to a good store that has trained professionals (meaning NOT Foot Locker or another box athletic shoe store) and have your feet properly fitted for a high quality running shoe. It will make all of the difference.

I agree. A running store is the way to go.
