Late night sync issue - suggestions?
I have had Flex 2 for a couple of weeks, it seems to give me appropriate calorie burn and generally syncs with MFP. However, I have a very specific issue I couldn't find on here: I get a large adjustment later in the day as I do my excercise in the evening, and MFP ups its projection for the remaining hours. However I go…

How fast did you gain your weight? (And why I'll be logging forever)
TL;DR: A 70 cal average surplus a day is all it took me to gain almost 100 lbs. in 13 years. That little. So yeah, I'll probably log my food forever. How did you gain your weight? How do you plan not to regain it when you're done losing? So today I finally did the math on my own weight gain and I thought the result was…

Anyone with Lumo Lift?
I am gettng a Lumo Lift for my birthday for posture monitoring. But now I am reading up about it and apparently it counts steps too (and calories, but based on your weight-age-gender etc. and not on your HR so pretty useless for that) and the app syncs with MFP. Is anybody using it for step count? How accurate do you find…

Using up cooking cream?
I love chicken / steak with mushrooms and a cream sauce, but whenever I buy a carton of cooking cream, we never seem to finish it before it goes bad. I'd put it in my coffee only I take it black - always liked it that way. What do you put cooking cream in? Give me some ideas, save my box of cream fom the trash :) Thanks

Vegetarian game-night finger foods?
There is this big soccer game on Sunday and we're having friends over to watch it together. They're vegetarian - they do eat a little fish and eggs and cheese but no meat. We've had them over before but only for a sit-down meal and I prefer to put out finger foods that everyone can help themselves to and enjoy as they…

Commonly confused serving sizes (pasta, others?)
May be it's overkill to have a whole topic for this but I saw at least 3 people today say that they never knew the recommended serving size for most pasta (85g typically, but may vary) is dry weight. Another one was possibly misunderstanding the serving size too. 60-80g of prepared pasta must really be a heartbreaking…

getting up to speed after a stomach bug?!
So the whole family went through an awful stomach bug. I can eat food today but still don't dare try veggies or beans or fruit, sticking to plain yogurt and bananas and chicken soup and not much of an appetite either. Haven't exercised in three days and down almost 2 kg which I hope is water weight and not precious lean…

Successful maintainers, say ~1y or more?
The threads with people's weight losses are so inspiring, and I love reading them, but do you know what I would love to read about even more? All the people who, after stopping weight loss (whether they lost 20lb or 200lb) have successfully maintained for, say, about a year or more, although that's an arbitrary number so…

Light and easy desert - jellied fruit
There is a thread in weight loss asking for low cal deserts, which inspired me to share a an old favorite recipe. I think everything is healthy in moderation. But for a light desert that feels like an actual desert, for me nothing beats homemade jellied fruit - delicious, looks good enough to serve to guests and…

How to defriend people nicely? Message?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but it appears this is where issues related to the "social" aspect of MFP go. I have a short friend list. I was off MFP for may be 10 months, and most of them haven't been on for a few motnhs either. Some are still active and that's great. However I have confirmed what I always suspected -…

Second time here, good changes last year - not all is lost when you fall off the wagon
Hi all, This is my second time around in MFP. I knew of the site for a few years but rarely used my account until I discovered a wealth of info in the forums in January 2014 and decided it was time for a change. I have about 95 lb to lose, more importantly, I want to do it saving as much muscle mass as I can. Last year I…

Should I adjust micronutrient % goals?
I tried really hard to find an answer to this question, but couldn't and Google didn't help either. I would like someone knoweldgeable about nutrition to answer if you can, please! :flowerforyou: Here's my dilemma. I have a lot of weight to lose so will be losing it a long, long time at a slow rate. This means I will be…

How long does whey keep (homemade)?
I made yoghurt yesterday and decided on a whim to make ricotta today (the kind of cheese where you heat milk with acid in a pot? Not sure what English-speaking people call it but it's basically ricotta to me, if it has a more English name, would love to learn what it is  ) I used a cup of the yoghurt and a squirt of…

Confirming TDEE experimentally
I am a newbie here, been on MFP for about 6-7 weeks. What I did is not rocket science, and many experienced nice people here on the forum have suggested it and explained in detail how to do it. Just reporting the results so other newbies like me who may be interested in the TDEE approach but afraid to try it may be…

A little rant on lbs vs kg
I have a little rant to make on the american measurements system. Not that there's anything wrong with it per se, just I have a feeling that measuring weight in lbs makes it even harder for people who obsess over the scale. I measure in kg (ticker here is in lb to give easier idea of my starting and goal weight to people…

Hello - 40 kg to lose, and not daunted :)
Hello all you awesome people! You are such an inspiration, thanks both for sharing your journeys and for the valuable advice I find here. I have been on MFP for 2 weeks, tried it once two years ago for a few days but then my life fell apart and I needed time to pick up the pieces. This time it's for real. Topic title says…
