Does where you live influence your weight & fitness?
I live in a small section of LA (West Hollywood) where almost everyone is slim and fit. Of course a lot of people move here to try to become actors or models so we have an inordinate amount of attractive fit people. I have two Whole Foods within 1 mile of me, three Trader Joe’s and many other stores/restaurants that are…

Looking for friends more interested in nutrition than extreme weight loss
Hi, I’m normal weight and more interested in nutrition than extreme weight loss. I do like to remain slim and even lose a few pounds but my main interest is getting enough nutrition without having to eat a lot of food. I avoid junk food and have no interest in it or cravings for it. I do crave less unhealthy sweets though…

Wow! Lost a lot of weight without even trying!!
Before Covid I was REALLY social, going out several nights a week to lots of events where there was food and alcohol. Since there’s been zero social life in LA and I live alone and I don’t drink alone and I only buy healthy food, I just realized today I’ve lost a lot of weight! I wear leggings and a t-shirt or sweatshirt…

Hypnosis & Self-Hypnosis
This is something I wrote in response to someone but thought maybe others would be interested. What I wrote: Hi, I just rejoined here and am checking out the app again. I went to school to be a Certified Hypnotherapist. I only practiced for a year or so before moving on to other things but I learned a lot. It sounds like…

Diary: Can you add foods & amounts not listed?
There are some foods not listed and I would like to add them. Also how do you change amounts? Sometimes there’s just an option for 1 cup or 2tbs when in fact you only had 1/2 cup or 1tbs and there is no way to change it. Also when you scan a barcode that it can’t find, is there a way of adding that food to the system?…

Great meal replacement smoothie!
I created this smoothie and think it’s a great (and delicious) meal replacement. I’m not a nutritionist so please correct me if I’m wrong. It totals 23g protein, 51gm carbs (but no empty ones) and 17gm fat but all healthy fat. Not sure if that’s a good ratio, you can always add another scoop of protein powder or use almond…

Where are vitamins/nutrients counted?
I take a lot of vitamins and supplements and I’d like to see a total for all of them but they only seem to count vitamin C and iron unless there’s somewhere else I should be looking? Also I got a red negative notice on vitamin C because it thinks I had too much vitamin C? That’s ridiculous! Vitamin C is water soluble and…

Get an ice cream machine!
Get an ice cream maker on Amazon. I add low fat vanilla yogurt combined with vanilla almond milk then add all sorts of healthy things like matcha tea powder, flax seed meal, chia seeds, organic cacao powder, salt free sunflower seeds, sugar free coconut chips or fresh coconut, frozen banana, any frozen fruit, delicious!…

Craving foods the body needs nutritionally!
For the last couple of months I've been craving apples for some reason. In the past, apples were the last fruit I'd select, going for sweeter fruits like frozen berries and cherries (which I eat while still frozen with my fingers like popcorn, yummm!), although occasionally I've gone through apricot craving phases. I've…

Hypnosis and weight loss
Dr. Oz is doing a show on it today. It should be on his website after if you miss it. I'm actually a Certified Hypnotherapist, although I'm not really practicing now, I went to school for it for a year and it does work! Especially for replacing junk food with healthy food. When I look at a label of a food full of chemicals…

Pomegranate!
Had one today for the first time. It's really messy but so worth it. Full of health benefits, a major anti-oxidant, fights several cancers and Alzheimer's. If you eat the full seeds which are edible, it is very filling and great fiber. But watch out, it squirts everywhere! Going to add this to my diet regularly as long as…

Runtastic inaccurate or for running only, not walking?
I used Runtastic at the same time as my usual pedometer and there was a huge discrepancy. I was actually briskly walking not running, and my pedometer said I had burned 95 calories while Runtastic said 273! Does Runtastic assume you're running, not walking? Is there some setting I'm missing to switch it to walking? Thanks.

How can I force myself to exercise when I hate it???
I am already at a healthy weight but would like to be more toned and fit, and for me to stay thin, my calories have to be low, which for me is much easier to do than exercise. I just have a block against it. I've tried hypnosis CDs, subliminal CDs... I've been trying to walk a bit in my neighborhood, but all I do is think…

Are Kashi granola bars or red/green powder drinks "clean"???
Hi, I'm new to this group. I know I eat really healthy, at least I think I do.... Would Kashi crunchy granola bars be considered clean eating? They are, I believe the lowest in sugar and even call it "evaporated cane juice." They are a major part of my diet. Also do things like red and green powders count as "clean" or is…
