share your NSV for today!
mine: When I started this journey, my bras were tight on the 3rd (the last) clasp. Today, I had to use the 1st clasp and it's possible they might be too big :) #2: I had to tighten my watch band. Who knew you could lose weight in your wrists??

diet foods = stinky butt
DON'T ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS, but all those "extra fiber" foods (like the Fiber One Chocolate Brownies) and additives like the Dasani drops, Mio, etc? They MIGHT cause you to have really bad gas, constipation, and back up issues. juuuuuust a warning.

what is your maintenance kcal daily goal?
And for funsies, if you feel comfortable sharing, what's your height and cw/gw/ugw?

I'm a C25K graduate!!!!
Okay, technically, I finished a week and a half ago, but this is the first chance I've had to post my AW. Also, I've got my husband started on the program and I'm running it with him so I'm sort of "double running" now (After I meander along with him - I love him but he is SLOW - I run another 20 min at my own pace.)…
-
how fast do you run?
I average somewhere between 12 and 13 minute miles. I know I'll get faster the more I run (and the longer distance I go) but I'm curious ... how fast are you going?
-
stuck at w8d2
I've tried three times to get past w8d2 ... each time, I punk out at about 2.5 miles. WTF? It *IS* hot and humid here and I HAVE been slacking ... I haven't run with *consistency* in about a month. Even so, I was able to do w8d1!! and this is the SAME THING. So what gives? (I'm *thisclose* to being a c25k dropout. I see…

almond milk vs. cow's milk
I've read that milk is better for you than water to repair muscle damage after working out. I'm wondering if anyone knows if almond milk works the same way? I occasionally will treat myself to 8oz of 1% with a brownie but I generally drink almond milk when I'm craving milk (or with my cereal).
-
take THAT, w8d2!!!!
Thanks to y'all's suggestions, I changed over from distance to time. Welp, at the end of the 28 minute run, I didn't FEEL done ... so during the cool down, I kept running. I ran for 33 minutes and when I looked at my distance ... yep, you guessed it, 2.75 miles. Now I can move on to w8d3 with confidence (after being stuck…

how do you feel about contructive criticism ...
... from your MFP friends? How about from IRL people? Just curious.
-
how would you log a bounce house?
Took my kidlets to a jump house thingy and climbed up along with them for 2 hours ... there's nothing in MFP for that kind of exercise. I logged it as "jazzercize" but I KNOW that isn't right. Thoughts?

I AM A NORMAL WEIGHT.
I hate BMI. I think it's a good general ballpark, but not a number to hang your whole self worth on. BUT. I recalcuated mine today and ... I AM IN THE NORMAL RANGE. Woo hoo!!!! I mean, it's only four tenths away from being overweight, BUT I WILL TAKE IT. My scale this morning was the lowest weight I've seen in 12 years.…

30 day shred results (with pics)
I didn't do it every day, but it's been 30 days since the start of the program. I modified moves. I also took a zumba class once a week and occasionally did pilates. I started the C25K program about 2 weeks ago. I ate between 1700 - 1900 cal a day and drank at least 12 cups of water. I lost 7.9 lbs, 2 inches off my waist…

NSV: panties
I've lost 52 lbs. I've gone from an XXL to a M/L. I went from a 42 bra to a 38 bra. And now? Now I've also gotten new underpants. DRUMROLL, PLEASE: I went from a size 8 to a size 5. I'm laughing at myself, but I also want a high five. Nothing like a teeny pair of panties to make a gal feel sexy! :blushing:

I'm so happy I've lost weight because ___________
fill in the blank! I'm so happy I've lost weight because clothes shopping is fun again! (I can go into a clothing store and actually try on the cute clothes in the misses section instead of being relegated to the ugly old lady prints in muumuu shape. I felt so triumphant walking past the dowdy clothes to try on something…

starting the JM 6w 6pack abs today - who's with me?
Did her level 1 workout just now on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ8Zdj0OPMI I can still feel my muscles shaking. I'm looking to tone my flabby belly, since that is my problem area. I'm looking for others to do it with me, finishing up sometime in early August. Any takers? (feel free to friend add me if you want…

a funny nsv
Just for kicks, I tried on my wedding dress today. (I got married almost 9 years ago.) That sucker was at least two sizes too big!! So next year when I renew my vows, I will need a new dress. OH DARN.
-
it really *IS* important to take measurements!!
In the last 30 days, I have gained and lost the same 2 lbs. BUT I have lost at least an inch everywhere else and I've dropped another dress size. All you need is a tape measure and a mirror! It's easy to get discouraged by the number on the scale ... it is so satisfying to see when things work!!

I came in third place!!!!
Last year, I walked in a 5K (for a favorite charity) and my time was 1hr6m. I've been training using C25K and my goal time was 46 minutes. I only made it to week 7 in the program when the race came up on Saturday. I RAN IT IN 34 MINUTES. RAN. THE WHOLE THING. And I came in 3rd place for my age group!

Jan 1 - June 1: 50 lbs gone! (w/pics)
SW: 215 GW: 160 UGW: 150ish CW: 164 I knew I looked "skinny" at 160 and I have a wedding to go to in November ... so that was my goal. But now at 164, I can see I still have a belly and places to lose, so I'm thinking with some heavy lifting, toning, etc, I could feasibly get another 14 lbs down. I'm a large framed, big…

5K is this weekend but only on week 7 of the program
I know that's not really a big deal overall but I have three specific questions: 1a. I ran on Sunday but got a weird knee pain for the first time in the 7 weeks I've been training (it was a v. humid/rainy day) so I cut the run short (just under 2 miles). Later that day, it felt like there was a bump on the ball of my foot…

I have a problem with this ticker
why is the fat woman so much shorter than the skinny woman? do you magically gain height as you lose weight? :props chin on fist:

what mobile app do you use? (android)
I have runkeep and rundouble ... rundouble is only a 2 week free trial, though, and then I will have to pay to get the reminders. I like it, though, because it will let me run for time OR distance. I'm sure there must be better things out there. I'm cheap though, so what free mobile app are you using?

is this a stall/woosh or water weight or what?
So I've noticed a pattern. I am one of those people who weigh myself every day. I noticed that on Thursday, I weigh 130* and on Friday it goes up to 131* stays there on Saturday and Sunday and Monday it goes down to 128*. Next day, up to 129* stays there three-ish days, then drops two pounds again. Next day, up a pound…

what do you do on your rest day?
Do you literally do nothing? Do you do a different exercise from your normal routine?

s/o food scale - rec yours
So ... what food scale do you have? Do you love it? Would you recommend it? (I have a very old one that is not digital and am looking to upgrade)

30 Day Shred - what I've learned so far (add yours!)
1. Wear sneakers. Don't do it in your bare feet. 2. Take rest days. I started mine after doing the workout 9 days straight and I do better, feel stronger, and the scale drops when I take a day off every 4 days or so. 3. Go ahead and modify the moves if you need to. For example, in level 2, circuit 3, that last plank move?…

how to log a taste?
Like, for example, if I'm offered a sip of hot chocolate, and I take it, but don't drink the whole thing, just a swallow ... how in the world am I supposed to log that here? Should I just guess? Overguess? Ignore it? Quick add? Run the stairs for 10 minutes and call it a wash?

how can you "fix" being over on sodium?
Sometimes I am over on my sodium, sometimes by 500 or more. If I drink extra water (I'm drinking 12 cups a day) on those days, does that help balance it out a little bit, or am I just effed?
