Activity level...
Hello all. I need help choosing the proper activity level for my job. I'm on my feet for 8 hours a day, walking over 11k steps at work alone. I originally set my activity level as active, and then lowered it to lightly active for the sake of seeing what difference it might make. Since lowering it I am almost always 100-200…

Fitness trackers/wrist bands
I'm looking into getting a fitness tracker sometime soon... The wristband/watch type that I can wear daily to keep track of things. I'm most curious about the Fitbit Flex but some of the online reviews are making me have second thoughts. Does anyone have any recommendations based on personal experience that they'd like to…

Can anyone else relate to feeling a "bear out of hibernation" level of hungry a week before Aunt Flow visits? I can't seem to find any food that will fill me up enough.

Looking for new friends :)
Lost about 50 pounds a couple of years ago with MFP (80 pounds total). I stopped logging food simply because I got lazy, but I find it alot easier to stay on track with MFP. I've kept the weight off and only have about 30 pounds left until my goal weight. :D I'm looking for new friends since almost everyone I knew on here…

Biking. How long?
I've been interested in taking up biking as an evening exercise versus power walking 30 minutes like I used to. How long (generally) would I need to bike for it to make a difference?

Coffee = Appetite supressant?
I decided to have a cup of coffee late this morning, and I have not been hungry at all for lunch. I noticed this when I drank coffee before as well. Is coffee a natural appetite suppressant or is it just me? LOL

Plateauing and a bit confused
So I've been at a plateau for the past 2 months, though I have lost a few inches. No big deal really, I knew it was inevitable and was sort of prepared for it. I am aware that losing inches is better than losing a number on the scale, but I am not doing much strength training other than when I circuit train. I eat between…

Blenders for under $50?

Causes for side cramps/stitches?
I've been doing a 20 minute Zumba work out every day for the past week (used to be 3x a week only). Since I've been doing it every day, I've been getting a cramp in my right side every session. I usually just work through it, but today I had a cramp on my left side instead of my right and had to stop. What is the cause of…

Slow and steady wins the race?
Just asking for some advice. I've had great luck losing 45 pounds in 6 or so months. I started out slow and steady with exercise. My boyfriend has always pushed himself hard for a couple of weeks, becoming burned out, and stopping all together. I've witnessed this and heard him complain about it. It's hard to stay quiet…

Best way to start lifting?
My boyfriend has expressed his goal to start lifting this year. He is also looking to lose weight. I've lost 45 pounds total since last March doing strictly cardio and limited weight training. I figure if he's going to start lifting, then I could join him. We'll be motivation for eachother. :) What is the best way for us…

Bowling for exercise?
Bowling is something big (and serious :P) in my family, and my boyfriends too. My b/f and I went bowling for the first time in years yesterday and it was such a workout! We were both sweating and today we're aching all over from 2 hours of serious bowling. I'm really considering making bowling a once a week thing for us. I…

Walking in the cold
I get post nasal drip which causes my throat to become dry for a few days every so often in winter. Needless to say, one of my main sources of exercise is walking outside twice a day and that's proven difficult to do with this dry weather and my dry throat. I usually wear a jacket when I walk, but my face is exposed to the…

Exercise with back pain
I took a couple of weeks off of exercising when I was on vacation, the week I was going to start Zumba'ing again, my back started hurting. This has happened twice before. I walk 2x a day, but what other cardio exercises can I do that won't irritate the pain?

Is Costco cheaper?
I usually shop at Wal Mart and usually buy $120+ in groceries every 2 weeks. I always tend to avoid processed food. My MIL stopped by and dropped off some berries and grapes that she bought from Costco for us. They're freaking delicious, and I'm starting to wonder if shopping at Costco would be cheaper? Thoughts?

17 day plateau @ 35lbs.
I've been 221.0 since August 1st. I do a 20 minute brisk walk every day (roughly 160 calories burned), and (before my plateau) did Zumba for 20 minutes 3x a week (roughly 234 calories burned). These 2 combined helped me lose a steady 1/lb a week for a couple of months. The past 17 days I have been at a plateau. I started…

Couch to 25K participants...
I started the Couch to 5K on Monday. I do a 10 minute brisk walk in the morning with my dogs, then come home and jump on the treadmill. 2 minutes of walking, 1 minute of jogging for 15-20 minutes. I used to do high impact aerobics 3x a week for 20 minutes, but will this program substitute that or should I also be doing the…
