Inexpensive HRM?

I don't know the average price of a good HRM, but can anyone recommend one to me? :)

    If you're in the UK I saw one at Tesco pharmacy today with a chest strap for around £10!

    i picked up a new balance at costco for $40 and today I just picked up one for my husband at Fleet Feet (shoe store) this ones a timex for $50

    You can get a polar on amazon for about $50. Not necessarily the cutest but it's a tool not a fashion statement. Polar lasts forever. Tried Timex in the past but it didn't last at all.

    I agree with Chii, got mine at Meijers and have had it for about 3 weeks and it works great. Even had it at a water park for 8 hours and it worked flawlessly.

    I second the use of a Polar HRM. Because Polar uses a chest strap to pick up the electrical impulses from your heart, it's a lot more accurate.

    I got my Polar FT7 at Meijer (midwestern mega store) for $100. LOVE it so much.. wish I would have gotten in a long time ago!

    Here are a few things I have learned about heart rate monitors. One thing, I personally recommend one with a strap. This is completely my opinion, but I find having to put my finger on the watch when I am trying to workout annoying. I have an Oregon Scientific SE102 one that I bought from their website for about 40.00. I love it and recommend it. You want to make sure it is one you can put your age, weight, and height into, that way it can calculate calories.

    My husband and I are doing Insanity so we just bought him his own heart rate monitor. We got his from amazon.com His is made by pyle sports. It is the PHRM22 marathon watch with 3D sensor. It was 40something. The watch is a little bigger on his wrist, but you can plug it into the computer and it downloads all of your data. I offered to let him use mine, but he declined! lol

    Go with a Polar... The Ft4 or Ft7, should work just fine.

    Be careful of buying one a real cheap one. You get what you pay for when it comes to HRM's and if you buy a cheap one now, you'll just be replacing it later with the expensive one you should have bought.
