I think it depends on the person the answer you're going to get. For me all the fake sugar makes me ill, headache or stomach ache or whatever. So I always go natural sugar no matter what. Personally I think the better idea is to ask yourself what you're eating and why and try to stay natural, but make sure you're not over doing it in any department.0

I vote sugar. Sucralose and the like are chemical that aren't good for your body.
Check out this website for some good information about artificial sweeteners.

I'd also say sugar. About a month ago on the Dr Oz show they were talking about how artificial sweeteners like splenda and such actually are twice as likely to cause diabetes. I can't remember the amount they said a day but it wasn't even that much.0

The only reason that sucralose is considered "healthy" is because it is not broken down easily by the body, and therefore yields little to no caloric value. It also tends to rid your body of "good bacteria" in the intestines that help to break down food. Just because it's fake does not mean you can go all out on it. It can be used as a substitute in desserts if you are leaning towards a diabetic meal, but you only gain energy from sugar. Feel free to eat one or the other, even both, but don't over-consume. Limit yourself. Just because sucralose has no caloric value, it doesn't mean that the food it's in is healthy.0

I think sucralose is better to consume sparingly than sugar, but neither are good overall. I use a little of both sparingly, but would like to limit them even more. Since I am hypoglycemic, it helps for me to have sucralose, or Splenda, more than sugar itself... but sometimes I need sugar to level out my blood sugar levels.
The body does not recognize sucralose as sugar, despite the fact that it is made from sugar, which eliminates any undesirable effects on blood sugar levels in diabetics.
