Guys who mass blast every woman in MFP repeatedly asking to be friends... Why???
Dude, I've seen you pop up like four times already, and I keep declining you. Let it go.

This time around... I cannot lose weight no matter how hard I try
50f, 5'11", 242 lbs. I've been using MFP off and on for a few years now but fell off the wagon after my mother died in 2018. Over the next four years, I devoted my life to caring for my father, and then my grandmother. Now that they have passed, I'm focusing on myself and my health. A couple of months ago, I started going…

I'm struggling to get the recommended amount of protein while still staying at my calorie limit.
I'm vegetarian / mostly vegan and according to MFP, you need to calculate your current weight by .72 to determine how many protein grams you need. In my case, it's 179 grams a day. Even if I were an omnivore and ate nothing but meat, I don't think I could consume that much protein every day and still stay at or under 1500…

MFP says I've logged 604 calories today but no food is listed in any meal category.
Today the app is showing that I've logged 604 calories but there is no food logged anywhere. I do have 24 calories logged under supplements, and my Fitbit calories are showing up but I've got the app set up so that the app doesn't include them in my daily calorie count. I have attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing. I've…

I feel like I'm being punished for moving
I'm trying to get back into using my Fitbit every day after being lazy for quite a while. For context my profile is set to Sedentary in MFP. The other day I was so proud of myself because I walked almost 10,000 steps, which is a huge amount for me. However, I was bummed to discover that MFP DEDUCTED 300 calories from my…

Anyone tried Denise Austin's LifeFit 360 program?
I've always been a fan of Denise Austin's videos. Now I'm seeing that she has a diet and fitness program you can sign up for. https://www.deniseaustin.com/lifefit-360-is-here/ Has anyone tried this? It's $20 a month, and includes a full meal program that you can tailor to your dietary restrictions, along with daily…

Eating a high(er) protein diet - gaining weight and not feeling satisfied, but clothes fit the same?
This is probably going to sound like a moronic question here, but I'm getting different answers from different sources so I'm confused. I'm a 45 year old woman, 5'11", about 20 lbs heavier than this time last year due to sheer laziness and diet fatigue... at some point I just stopped counting calories and allowed my…

I used to be so good about sticking to this.... until late last year. Now I'm so ashamed.
Up until late last year (around September - October), I was really good about counting everything and sticking to it, and I was fairly close to my goal weight. You would think this would have motivated me to stick with it even harder... but for some reason... I just stopped. I don't know if it was diet fatigue or what, but…

The Mojo Thread
Everyone talks about how confidence is sexy... But how do you get that? Do you just tell people you're sexy and act like you are until everyone just takes it for granted that it's true and starts agreeing with you? How and where do YOU get your confidence and mojo?

To the makeover experts... let's talk about "accentuating your best features
Call it a case of mid-life crisis, but I'm looking to reinvent myself. Everything I've read mentions "accentuating your best features ". But what if you don't know what they are or maybe don't have anything special enough to accentuate? And what if the features YOU think are special maybe aren't what you should focus on?…

What is your guilty pleasure "red light" food?
What is the one food that makes you weak in the knees... the one food that you can't keep in the house because you know you'll eat all of it in one day? Mine is Oreos. Even Oreo cake, Oreo cheesecake, Oreo ice cream.... it's all just fantastic. I can't have them in the house under any circumstances, because I will turn…

Need advice from vegans: How much protein do I really need to be consuming.... REALLY??
So here's the deal.... I'm transitioning to vegan after being a vegetarian for about 9 years. I'm going vegan for ethical and environmental concerns primarily, but for health reasons as well. I took a break from MFP and calorie tracking for a couple of months but now I"m getting back into the swing of things. I am shocked…

Pole Dancing
Has anyone ever taken pole dancing lessons? They look like a lot of fun and a great way to tone your upper body. I'm already studying bellydance and going to the gym, but I've been itching to try something different that's not sports (I am not even close to being a sporty/competitive person). What are your experiences with…

I no longer have anything to motivate me, but I haven't reached my goal weight.
I've still got at least 20 lbs until I reach my goal weight, but lately I haven't had the motivation to continue working at it. I think it's because I don't have an attainable goal that excites me anymore. In the beginning, I wanted to have a little more endurance when I go for long walks. I achieved that. Then I wanted to…

Looking for guidance on lifting heavy weights... too embarrassed to ask people at gym for help :(
So here's the deal... I would really like to know more about strength training with heavier weights because I've seen pictures of women who do this and they look fantastic. However, I've never lifted the heavy stuff before and I'm afraid I will hurt myself if I try to do it myself starting out. I have a gym membership but…

I'm hoping to get the ball rolling
Hi! I live in Norman and am looking for workout buddies to join me for support and camaraderie. Hopefully I can meet some people who can show me the basics of strength training with large weights, and... um... I'm not sure what I can show you but I will definitely support you in every way I can! :)

How to build self-confidence when you are a perpetually "negative" and overanalytical person.
Maybe at least one person out there can relate to this... I honestly believe that I am broken when it comes to building self-confidence, because all of the fixes that everyone says are surefire ways to do it have no effect whatsoever on me. I'm seeing a therapist. Aside from giving me ideas on how I need to change in order…

Stress eating (and I-have-given-up-on-it-all eating) - how do you avoid it?
I find myself wanting to snack at work... a LOT... and having healthy snacks on hand does not help because when I get the craving, carrot sticks and apple slices don't cut it. I want chocolate cupcakes, candy bars, chips. I very rarely indulge, but I get ANGRY when I don't, so now I'm stressed AND angry because I can't…

54 lbs down and still going strong! PICS!
Before at 228 lbs...https://imgur.com/a/ZsMIa After at 174, taken a few days ago. ..https://imgur.com/a/sOIhT I've stuck with counting calories and moderate exercise since late August 2016 and it's worked wonders for me. I've also went from a size 16/18 in pants to a size 10! I still have 20 more lbs to go but I wanted to…

I really need encouragement, weight has held steady since Thanksgiving... still got 35 lbs to go!
So the title pretty much says it all... my weight has held steady at around 185 - 188 since Thanksgiving. The good news is that I stuck to my daily limit (1200) for Thanksgiving and carried it forward to about 2 weeks before Christmas. At that time, I upped my daily limit to 1400 because holiday reasons, but was still able…

poor body image (jealous over smaller/petite/more delicate women), hard to keep motivated
I'm 44 and feel like a huge moose. I'm 5‘11", reasonably fit/curvy ( i'm working on losing weight - I exercise fairly regularly and try to eat well). The problem is I'm one of those "big" girls who will always be big - broad shoulders, wide hips, big chest, just overall gargantuan in general. I look like an lumbering,…

Is Under Armour Record really accurate? It seems WAAAAAY too good to be true.
I wear a Fitbit Zip to record my cardio activities and decided to try using Under Armour Record to record my weight training and abdominal exercises since Fitbit doesn't record calories burned for those things. Record is logging a LOT of calories burned for what doesn't feel like an equal amount of effort - 100+ calories…

Thinking about going from 1.5 / wk to 2 / wk
I slipped up last week and gained a couple of lbs but I know why (combination of hormones and being around other heavy eaters) but I'm getting back on track. So now I'm wondering if I could increase my weight loss by setting my calorie limit so I lose 2 lbs per week. Right now I'm set to lose 1.5 per week but it's not…

Calories-calculator.net
If you use a basic heart rate monitor (one that doesn't calculate calories burned) and want an easy way to see how much you are really burning, this website has a calculator that is easy to use. I was very disappointed to see that my elliptical sessions were not burning near as much as MFP says :(

I live in Norman and am looking for fitness buddies!
Are there any fitness clubs, walking clubs, etc. in the Norman area? I'm looking for motivation to exercise more.

Tempted by FREE goodies !! Help!!
I don't know why I do this... If there is "free" readily available food I will eat it even if I'm not hungry or even strongly craving it. I don't buy cake or cookies and I don't eat dessert in restaurants but if there is cake in the break room or at a party I'm all over it. Same with any other snack food. Anyone else deal…

Need recommendations for thigh stretches
I'm looking for some good stretches for the back thigh muscles. Mine get so tight at times it hurts to touch my toes or squat. I also struggle with reaching behind me to stretch my leg back - I have to hold on to something and kick my leg out a little to the side on order to grab my ankle. I'm the only person in my dance…

Exhausted and frustrated after a 7 day walking vacation :(
So I just got back from 10 days in Boston. During my vacation I did a LOT of walking (if you have ever been there you know that it's just about the only way to get around - you even walk a lot to subway stations). Add in running from point A to point B to make it to various guided tours, climbing up and down stairs and it…

Why does it bother me that I did this?
For the past several days I have had a calorie deficit of about 100 calories a day. Today it looked like I would have a deficit of 500 calories and I was so proud of myself ... But then I came home from bellydance class and was famished (stomach-growling-getting-cranky hungry) so I ate a burrito made with black beans,…
