FOOD
Define food. What is food to you? Not what should food be, but what IS it to you? If you have just started the journey, what is your relationship with food? What is food to you? If you have been on this journey for a while, what WAS food to you then and what is food to you now?

Measure up
I have a couple of silly questions. When you measure yourself, should you do it at a certain time just like when you weigh? For example, I weigh myself first thing in the morning after I use the restroom and before eating or drinking anything. Also, at what angles should before/after pictures be taken?

Question
I have been having this awful leg pain. I get it just walking across the street, mowing the yard, taking a walk. The muscle in my lower leg gets very tight and hard as a rock and sends pain all the way up my leg. It hurts so bad, I feel like I can't lift it for one more step. It happens in the other leg once in a great…

Hi! My name is Joy and I am looking for a workout buddy in Fulton, MO. I need to lose quite a bit of weight and have found that working out with a buddy, makes it a little easier to stay motivated and stick to it. I want to work out at least 5 times per week so you must be devoted. I am looking for someone who is NOT going…

Weekly Weight Loss Goal Setting on MFP
I have always had my weight loss goal setting set to "lose 2 lbs per week." Today I changed my goal for daily calories, carbs, protein and fat and when I saved those goals, the bottom of the screen said the estimated weightloss per week was 3lbs. Should I go in and change my goal to "lose 1lb per week" or just leave it the…

lost the movitation
I know I have probably said this a million times but I have lost my motivation. I cannot seem to get back on the wagon. I feel like I don't have anyone to really "support" me. I have people to talk to about all of this but nobody to help me be accountable. I NEED to do this! I am just so discouraged after trying so hard at…

Leslie Sansone
I was just wondering if anyone had seen a noticable weight loss doing the Leslie Sansone DVD's. I started doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and boy, do you feel like you have worked out. When I did Leslie Sansone, I was sweating, so I know it was doing something but I didn't really feel anything afterward (sore muscles,…

fell off the wagon......AGAIN
Okay, so I fell off the wagon yet AGAIN. I felt like I was working so hard at logging my food, watching or at least being aware of what I was eating and exercising, yet, I was only gaining weight. After several weeks of this, I just gave up. I'll be quite honest with you. I have a VERY stressful job and work LONG hours and…

exercise calories
I know this has been explained before, numerous times, I am sure, but I can't seem to find a post about it, so I'm going to ask AGAIN. Through my husbands insurance at work, we get a discount if we allow a nurse through he insurance company call and discuss my husband's health. In a recent conversation, my husband told the…

Protein/Carbs
So my doctor is telling me that she wants me down to 1200 calories a day. I am not there yet. I am slowly decreasing to that b/c when I do a major cut in calories or carbs it tends to trigger depression which is horrible. I have been told that in order to lose weight you need to have no more than 150 carbs per day and I am…

hubby
So I need some advice. A couple of years ago, my husband lost about 50 pounds and was doing really well. His doctor did blood work and found that his thyroid was over active and insisted he had to have his thyroid killed or removed. He told him an overactive thyroid could cause very bad side effects including personality…

Getting Real
As I have said in previous posts, when I first started this "journey to weightloss" I felt very overwhelmed because I was looking at the "big picture" and trying to do it all perfect all at once. One of my friends reminded me that we have to take "baby steps." That is so true. When I finally took a deep breath and tried to…

Dilemma
So I am trying to live healthier by eating healthier, exercising, etc. I am currently in a job that has decent hours and decent pay but I do not enjoy it one bit. I dread going there everyday and the stress is terrible. On weekends I start dreading the workweek Saturday evening. I hate that feeling. I feel like the stress…

Baby Steps #2
Well, I did it! I got up and I MOVED. When I was a kid, I rode my bike ALL the time; all over town, up hills, down hills, everywhere. LOVED riding my bike. Once I got in high school and got my license, of course, that stopped b/c it was more fun to drive. BIG mistake. A couple summers ago, my husband and I bought bikes. I…

Baby Steps
I frequently find myself getting discouraged and feeling like its never going to happen. Recently, I mentioned this to one of my friends and she reminded me that we have to take baby steps. That is so true. After her saying that, I took a look at my approach to weightloss. I get caught up in the "big picture." I get so…

Inspired
Lately I have been struggling with LACK of motivation. I have felt so tired, I'm almost sick. I know if I exercise, even if its just a walk, I will feel better but I just can't do it. I work for an eye doctor pretesting patients for their eye exam. I get their medical history/info such as meds they take,…
