Hi everyone. I learned about fitness pal several months ago but have failed to login daily. I think this is a GREAT tool for weight loss. I am a young woman who has been overweight most of my life. Diabetes runs on both sides of my family and obesity on my father's side. In addition to my genetic contribution to my weight, I also have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, aka PCOS. The PCOS doesn't cause the weight gain but makes it VERY hard to lose weight and can cause other health problems. My goal is to get healthy. I don't want to be super, tiny thin. I want to be at a healthy weight for me. I am determined to do this and do it right.....NO weightloss pills or ridiculous things like that - healthy eating and exercise. We all know its hard to do but with websites like this one that allow you to talk to other people and get ideas and support as well as support from our friends and family, we CAN do this!

Welcome to the site! I started a few months ago and love it. When I follow the plan I really see results so I know that it can work. It's refreshing to see a newbie wanting to take control of her health the right way! Diet pills do not work long term, the secret to being healthy is diet and exercise, that's it. I wish you much success on your journey! Congrats to taking the first steps to a healthy you!0

Welcome! :flowerforyou:
I would like to encourage you to use this site. While I've not been here for but two weeks or so, I was a member on a paid site for two years. The logging and support from other people are gems! I too have PCOS....I lost 20 pounds before becoming pregnant with our second child so I can tell you weight loss CAN happen - it's just a lot of work! I now look forward to getting back to the most recent pre-prego weight and then move on from there.0 -
Welcome! I think we have pretty much the same goals. I don't want to be super thin, I just want to be healthy. We can do this!0
