Plateau-ing for 3 months--help appreciated!
Hi MFP, I've been plateauing in my weight-loss efforts for the past three months. I hover between 159-161 lbs no matter what I try--eating more, eating less, varying my exercise, adding lot's of protein to diet, cutting out alcohol, etc...I was wondering if anyone had some advice for busting out of a plateau like this?…

soylent
Anyone else using this at all? My boyfriend is kind of obsessed with it. He ordered a month supply. At first I was sort of freaked out by it, but it doesn't taste bad at all. I've been drinking it for breakfast sometimes when I'm out of healthy foods and don't want to resort to no breakfast or a pastry.

Indoor Climbing
I just started indoor climbing, and I love doing it! I've done bouldering and top rope climbing so far. There's a gym that my friend works at a few minutes from my apartment, so I'm planning on going a few times a week with her. Do any MFP-ers climb and have any tips for a beginner???

WHY are some people jerks on mfp? (philosophically...)
I'm actually wondering. I'm not questioning their existence, or crying about some jerk who bullied me...I'm just wondering...Why do ya'll think there are so many? Is there some kind of gene that we all have that makes people on MFP more likely to be overly assertive DBs?....Are we all control freaks because we count…

Not sure what my activity level should be.
I'd appreciate any help! Here's my deal: I bike to and from work most days--it's about 3.2 miles each way, up and down significant hills. I also run/elliptical/some other kind of cardio a few times a week as a *workout*--aka wearing workout clothes. I work in a lab setting--sometimes I'm sitting at my office waiting for…

Notre Dame Football (not fitness/diet related...)
So I'm an ND alum and Rick Reilly echoed EXACTLY how I feel about ND football in this article: http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/8264769/notre-dame-irish-relegated-insignificance I'm wondering....Anyone else have opinions on ND?

"Legit" postings...?
Do ya'll ever look at someone's ticker on the forums and decide whether anything they've said is worth listening to? I do this all the time....If someone recommends that you try X, Y, or Z, and they've lost "0 lbs"...Fuhgeddabowdit.

Controversial Forum Posts...
Do ya'll think they should be deleted? Personally I don't....Even if I disagree with the content of it.

*sustainable* caloric intake and eating habits?
Last summer I lost about 20 lbs while on MFP...The weight came off pretty quickly, within a matter of 2 months or so. I was eating 1240 cals a day, plus only half of my exercise cals, and working out incessantly with super hard interval workouts. I consumed virtually no sugar and carbs, and was a slave to MFP. I was about…

"If it's less than 30 minutes, don't log it."
I have recently come across an MFP who complains heavily about people who log less than 30 minutes of exercise as exercise. In her opinion, you only log it if you've burned 10 cals/minute for at least 30 minutes...So nothing less than 300, nothing less than 30 minutes...I thought this was a bit crazy, but does anyone else…

What's your recovery drink?
I drink a cup of low-fat chocolate milk after my intense workouts. I've read in many places that it's good to have after a workout, and it also makes me feel better right afterward. I'm interested in seeing what else people use, though? What do you eat/drink after a really hard workout???

Pre-Logging Exercise
How do you guys feel about pre-logging your exercise? I have a friend who pre-logs constantly and then comes back later to say she never actually did the workouts because "life got in the way" or something. They aren't like "80 calories burned doing 90 minutes of 'cleaning, general'" but like "560 calories burned doing 62…

strength training logging
I'm starting to incorporate strength training in my workouts and was wondering, do people log those as calories burned? I was leaning toward just logging my cardio, since I'm doing both. Does it matter?

Nike+ Running Band
My sister got me one of those Nike+ bands for Christmas....It has a thing that you wear around your wrist that supposedly measures your heartrate and also functions as a watch, and then a little button that you put in your shoe that measures how long you run for. Then you upload it to your computer and it tells you your…

College Girls Group?
I've been on MFP since May, and I'm an undergraduate engineering major...So naturally once school started, motivation lagged a little bit. I'm still *on the wagon*, but the wagon has slowed significantly. I'm wondering if there would be any girls in college interested in starting a group? We could weigh in 1x a week, blah…

Best Breakfast to keep you full-er?
During the summer I ate every couple of hours because I was @ work all day, but now I'm *on the run* a lot at school and find myself getting really hungry. I increased my caloric intake because it was at 1280 which I thought was too low for my current lifestyle, now it's at 1460 net cals, but do you guys have any…

Restaurant cravings!
Does anyone have any helpful tactics on how to get past cravings at restaurants and movie theaters? I've gotten really good at passing up sweets but salty popcorn and buffalo wild wings makes me squirm. Please dont say "just don't go." this is a lifestyle change and once I'm at my goal weight I'll need to maintain by not…

MyFitnessCREEPERS
I've been posting progress pics on my profile with every 4-5 lbs I lose. But I'm getting totally discouraged because I will get messages (3 this week) from guys who are saying completely inappropriate things. I don't wanna delete the pics--I'm proud of my weight loss so far! But is there a way to report these guys even if…

Do you ever give unsolicited advice on someone's diary?
I'm not talking about if they ask you for input....I'm talking about, you see "so and so completed their diary for 7/30/11 and was under their calorie goal...." and you click on their view diary and notice that they were over on sugar and tell them to work on sugar? Does anyone do that? I find it seriously annoying.

What do you do at work functions?
My office has a lot of pseudo mandatory work functions where food is the main attraction....I love going and they're fun but I don't know what to do about eating/not eating during them. It would be one thing if its like 1x a month, but its more like 1x a week...I hate ruining my good day over pizza night but I also hate to…

What kind of MFP are you?
Are you a jokester who posts as much fun as fitness updates? Are you a serious person who gets pissed at any hint of fun and lightheartedness and non-fitness related topics on someone's profile? Are you a private person who doesn't want anyone to see your diary and exercise? Are you a person who asks for friends but NEVER…

Silk vs. Almond Milk vs. 1% Milk, for a Woman
I've heard a lot lately about soy milk and how soy isn't that great for a woman. I've also heard a lot of people having almond milk...I drink 1% or skim normally....Can anyone tell me what would be better to have? What's the deal with almond milk??? I'm not lactose intolerant or anything, but I'd love to try it if it's got…

Break the Equilibrium?
So I've been tracking calories for about 3 weeks.....I'm always within 200 cals of my goal and I work out 4-6 times a week. But my number on the scale flucuates between 167-170 and I haven't actually *lost* any weight yet....Any ideas on how to break this initial barrier? I've thought about doing some interval training and…

New and wanting friends
Hi! I just joined a week and a half ago. I'm a 20-something, going into my senior year of college. I'm trying to lose about 35 lbs that I've accrued over the past 8 years...College has been especially hard, my major is not conducive to a healthy lifestyle. I have tried to lose before and failed, and I'm really hoping this…
