Decided to stop my calorie counting for a week to see what h
Well, I decided to take the week off from counting calories, to see what happens. The hope, is that I've learned how to listen to my body and know instinctively when I need to eat, what I need to eat and how much I need to eat. So, I weighed myself on Monday, and am getting excited to see where I'm sitting at on Monday of…

Goodbye 25 pounds. I WON'T miss you!!!!
I finally hit my next goal after stalling out for a bout two weeks .... I have officially lost 25 pounds. I look at my 22 pound son and go "WOW!!! I lost you!!" *giggle* At my next 10 pounds, I will have lost my almost 4 yr old's weight (he's about 35 pounds). It really starts to put things into perspective when you can…

A couple of NSVs
Well, my scale hasn't moved much in the last few weeks. Had family here which threw everything out of whack. I am finally down a pound this week....but on to my NSV. Last week I was able to paint my toe nails without contorting myself into some weird pretzel formation. My belt is down a notch. It's a bit snug, but at the…

Anyone here grain free?
Ok, so I've heard from more than one holistic nutritionist that grains aren't good for you and you should give them up. I've significantly cut down on my grain intake, but just don't know if I can live without bread (ok yes, I know I'm being dramatic). Anyone else here grain free? How do you do it? Did you cut grains out…

If you have a Bodybugg/Bodymedia AND use MFP.. I need some h
My Bodybugg goals are set at 2600 daily burn, and 1600 daily calorie intake, so it's set up for a 1,000 calorie deficit for a 2 pound a week loss. I want to match up my MFP goals, but MFP uses the "net calories" system which isn't quite the same. So, how many net calories should I set up at MFP to make the goals match. If…

Had my measurements done today..
My trainer took my measurements today. I am down 4 inches this month and 2% body fat. That means in two months I have lost 21 pounds, 8 total inches (4 from my waistline!), and 4% body fat. My NSV, I got through two very tough strength training sessions this week. I kept telling my trainer "I can't." And she said "Yes you…

What are the names of these strength training (weights) exer
So I've decided to start logging my workouts here. I was going to start today, but I don't know the names of some of the workouts that I did with my trainer today. 1. She called them "skull crushers." You lay on your back, hold a barbell straight up, then curl it back towards your forehead. When it's almost touching your…

I'm out of the 200's!!!!
Oh my gosh, I am out of the 200's!! I weighed in at 199 today. That's the same weight I was on the day I got my "official" positive pregnancy test from the doctor's office with my first son in 2004. I have lost 21 pounds. I am only ONE FLIPPIN POUND away from my next mini goal, which is just 4 pounds away from the next…

Had a REALLLLLY bad food day. Ugh!
I was a wreck today on an emotional roller coaster. Fine one minute, really edgy, anxious or sad the next. Yes, my monthly friend will be here soon. I always crave these things this time of month anyway, but then add the emotional roller coaster in and I just couldn't help myself. Not only did I over eat on calories.. too…

I don't understand "net calories."
I see threads talking about net calories, and I have my MFP that tells me I need to net about 1200 calories to see my weekly goal. But I just don't get it. I have a Bodybugg. It tells me what I'm burning daily and compares it to my goal intake as well as my actual intake that I log.. .. .my goal calorie burn is 2,600…

Figuring out nutritional info for homemade foods?
Hey all. I am really enjoying taking my favorite foods and coming up with healthier spins on them. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a great website that I can put all the ingredients of my recipe in, then get a "report" back of the nutritional content for each serving size. I know that I could look for each…

Hello. I'm Michelle. I've been over weight for a while. I was 199 the day I got my positive pregnancy test result from my first son, who turned 6 in June. My heaviest weight was 220. I am currently down 15lbs. I have started working out at the gym 6 days a week, and get to work with a personal trainer. I see her 2x a week,…
