Curios: Do you weigh yourself naked or with clothes?
I've been weighing myself semi-naked since I started (I'll leave my undies and shirt on). I use my sister-in-law's scale every week because I flung mine out the window in a state or rage in early July (ended up breaking a light pole on the street...thank God I didn't hit anyone). Anyway, yesterday, there were too many…

Life got in the way
I don't even know where to start. I joined MyFitnessPal in 2010 and was able to achieve my goal weight (from 165 to 145) and maintain it for several years. Since 2014 on, my life has been pure chaos. From my mom being diagnosed with colorectal cancer to finding out my husband was having an affair and then going through a…

I need motivation. Gained back all the weight I lost
Long story short: I joined MFP 2 years ago, starting weight 165. I did great, I felt great, and got to my goal of 140, slowly but surely. It took me about 6 months to lose the weight. I was able to maintain that weight for about 1 year (+/- a few lbs). After the stress of Hurricane Sandy (I literally gained 7 lbs the week…

Elephant Legs
I'm so frustrated! I work-out 5 times a week (45 to 60 minutes of high intensity cardio or circuit training and weights 3 times a week). I have noticed a difference in my abs and arms, but my legs don't change. I have had a huge complex about my legs since I was 12. They have no shape. I compare them to toddler or elephant…

525 Days With MFP...Have Lost All Motivation
I reached my adjusted goal back in July 2012...only because no matter what I did, my body wasn't budging (5'6" 141 lbs, 30 years old). I was not losing anymore weight. I accepted it, and simply continued counting calories and exercising (jogging/running about 3 to 4 times a week plus circuit training 3 times per week).…

Lost Weight...Gained Wrinkles?
OK. So, I'm only 31. But, I have noticed that since losing weight, my face has gotten skinnier and I now have wrinkles that I never had before. And, the wrinkles that were there before are now more pronounced. This is a bit unnerving to me, as I am very obsessed with taking care of my face, staying out of the sun, using…

Anyone form Long Island need a work-out buddy?
I live in Franklin Square. Would love someone to work-out with. I love running/jogging...even in the cold! However, now that it gets dark so early, I kind of get scared to run with headphones on in the dark. I always feel like someone is going to come up behind me (that's what happens when you grow up in the South Bronx…

Rapid Weight Gain
I'm beyong baffled. I reached my goal weight of 141 early in the year (January). I have been able to maintain my weight successfully up until now. Since November 1, my weight has steadily incrased 1 to 2 lbs per week . I am now up 8 lbs and feel completely discouraged, upset, and somewhat worried. What is causing this…

Before and After - 18 lbs
I know this is nothing compared to most of the wonderful success stories I have seen posted, but I am very proud of myself, not only for losing weight, but for becoming stronger and having more energy. At the start of this journey, I couldn't even do 1 push-up, now I can do many and so much more. It's taken me so long just…

Crohn's Disease
I was just diagnosed with Crohn's disease after having a really bad 2 month flare-up. Anyone with Crohn's disease that can give me so advice? I am feeling overwhelemed by all of this. I love eating and drinking and hate the fact that I have to monitor everything now. Do you keep a food diary? How do you know which foods…

Endoscopy anyone?
Just came back from my GI doctor. He thinks I have an ulcer due to all of my GI issues lately. He scheduled me for an endoscopy. I know I will be asleep for the procedure, but I'm scared of the risks involved (preforation, bleeding, etc). Anyone that has had one before...how did it go?

Thanks to those who are braver than me...
...and have fought, and continue to fight for my freedom. In honor of Veteran's day, below are some pics of my dad, who is now 65, from his days in the Army. I don't think he even knows I have these pics. When I visited my Grandma in Puerto Rico a few years ago, she gave them to me. He doesn't like to talk about his time…

I want super yummy low-cal cocktail. Anyone have a recipe?
I love rum-punches and cocktails with pineapple juice and other fruity flavors (like white peach sangria...yum!!!), but all the juices make it so high in calories. Anyone have a good recipe for something yummy? By low-cal, I mean something that is under 150 calories per 4 to 6 oz.

I'm in a serious rut. Need motivation
I started this journey mid-July and it has taken me so long just to lose 12 lbs. I'm so proud of myself for doing it, but now, I have hit a plateau, the weather is changing, and my motivation is dwindeling. I'm halfway to my goal and don't want to give-up, but I'm in a serious rut. All I want to do is eat and sleep. What…

Night Out Drinking...What day do you post calories?
I know this is a crazy question, but if you go out around 11 PM (as most people in New York do on weekends) and have drinks....and end up out until 3 AM, am I posting these alcohol calories to the day I actually went out or half to the day I went out and half the following day? 3AM is technically the next day.

Another Calories Question
I'm sure people have posted this question before, but here it goes: I started off MFP weighing 162 lbs with a goal of 1380 calories per day. I have lost 10 lbs since joining on July 10, losing to 1.5 lbs per week. Sometimes I eat more than 1380, sometimes I eat less. I do this to keep my body surprised and I exercise…

Runner's Knee?
I pride myself in being able to run, especially since I quit smoking. But lately, I can't go beyond 2.5 miles without my right knee wanting to give out on me. Anyone else have this problem? I stop and continue walking (usually uphill) which helps a bit, but if I start running again, the pain is unbearable. The pain is…

Question about calories as you lose weight
Quick question: I started myfitnesspal with a goal of 1,340 calories per day. Since then, I have lost 6 lbs. Shouldn't my calorie goal be lower now that I have lost weight? Does this ever adjust or do I continue with 1340 until I reach my goal?
