Only for some Nassau Counties:

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — Seven communities in New York's Nassau County are being advised to boil their water due to the presence of E. coli bacteria.

Newsday reports that the advisory has been issued for North Valley Stream, Elmont, Franklin Square, Garden City, Stewart Manor, Floral Park and New Hyde Park.

Residents are advised to boil water or use bottled water.

Coliform bacteria are commonly found in water supplies but elevated levels are an indicator that potentially harmful microbes may exist. Symptoms include diarrhea, cramps, nausea and headaches.
