What is the reason to track 'net carbs' vs. all carbs?
Why do people track net carbs instead of your entire carb intake? Also, what is the correct way to calculate it. I've heard you subtract fiber, but on one of my protein bars they also subtract all of the sugar alcohol. I'm not a low-carber, but I do try to watch my intake. Most of my carbs come from fruit, whole grains,…

Those last 5 lbs...
I've been on MFP for just over a year now and so far I've lost 25 lbs and 10% body fat. I'm pretty happy with the way I look except I still have a little bit of a belly. I think I eat pretty well (my diary is open so feel free to look) and I workout about 6 times a week. I do 3 strength training days and on other days I do…

Strength Training while on vacation/visiting family?
In less than 2 weeks I'm heading up to see my family and my in-laws. We will be at a camp grounds for 3 days, at my in-laws for 4 days and at my parent's house for 3 days. I will be doing cardio for sure, running and such, but how do I keep up with strength training? When we are at my parent's house I will have access to…

Light at the end of the tunnel...now what?!?
Ok, so I LOVE NROLFW. I'm starting stage 6 in a few days and I'm getting so close to finishing. I would love to do another program similar to this afterwards, but not sure what. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like something that is pretty structured, I like to have a plan when I go to the gym. I'm trying to get…

Calculating Body Fat
How are all of you calculating your body fat? I have a pinch test caliper, but I feel like the results I am getting are all over the board and I don't think it's very accurate. What other methods you y'all use?

Ran my first 5K and placed 4th in my age group! With before
I started my weight loss journey in August and have lost 25 lbs so far. Along the way I started running a bit and today was my first 5K. Looking for new friends with similar goals!!!
Hey everyone, I'm looking for more friends/supporters and I'll do the same! My goals are to eat as clean as I can, although I do enjoy a sweet every once in a while, and try to have an active lifestlye. I am currently doing the new rules of lifting for women and going to run my first 5K in 3 weeks. I started on mfp about 8…

Anyone tried the New Rules of Lifting for Women program?
I'd be interested to find out if anyone has followed the program from the book The New Rules of Lifting for Women. I have almost finished reading the book and I have learned a lot. I know a lot of people on here have read it as well, just curious if anyone actually has tried the weight program. If you have, here are some…

how often do you eat any kind of sweet?
I was wondering how often you all eat any kind of sweet. It could be anything from chocolate, baked goods, doughnuts, or even skinny cow ice cream/candy or a fiber one brownie. I usually have something like this every day, but of course I make sure it fits into my calorie allowance for the day. I'm trying to eat more clean…

Zumba for kinect...
So my husband just got a kinect and he bought me the zumba game. I have been going to zumba classes since july and most of them are very high energy, but the kinect game was much easier and honestly I don't think I got a very good workout. I always wear my polar hrm and usually in an hour class i burn anywhere from 500-650…

I am a teacher, so I workout in the late afternoon/evenings during the week. On days I workout later, I have a small dinner so I am not working out on an full stomach. On the later workouts I don't get home from the gym until 7:30 or 8:30...should I have a protein shake afterwards, even though it's late or just not eat…

How long does the 30 day shred take per day?
How long does the 30 day shred take per day? I have a workout routine already in place: 3 days of 1 hr zumba classes and 2 days of weight training with about 15 min on the tredmill. I pay for my gym membership and I would like to stick to my schedule, but I'm also interested in the 30 day shred. If it doesn't take too…

When did you feel comfortable in a bikini?
I've never been comfortable in a bikini and that is my ultimate goal. I'm 5' 5' and when I started on here I weighed 160 and was in a size 12. Now I am 144 and am a size 6 and depending on the brand I can squeeze into a 4, I also wear a small in shirts. My first weight goal is 135, so I'm hoping that I feel comfortable in…

Bowling alley food...
My husband and I are meeting up with friends tonight and we are all planning on eating there. The only thing that I saw on the menu that wouldn't be terrible was a grilled chicken sandwich, but everything comes with fries and cole slaw. I'm not a big fan of cole slaw or salads so what other sides do you think would be ok?…

Zumba class at a gym or Zumba on DVD at home?
I recently started Zumba classes at my gym and I LOVE it!!! It's constantly a good workout and it's always different because my gym has many different instructors that all have unique routines. I'm just curious what people think about the DVDs or other ways of doing Zumba at home. I've never done it at home before but, I…
