What gym workout app do you use?
I have a gym membership and have a few group fitness classes there that I enjoy. I would like to build consistent, progressive workouts for days when I'm not taking classes. There are a few machines at the gym that I'd rather not use. I'm having trouble finding an app to build a workout while allowing to swap out some…

IF and working out in the evening
Hey all! I've been thinking about hopping on the IF wagon. My problem is.. I workout in the evening after work. I get to the gym at 4:30 and workout for an hour then I usually eat a protein bar. The problem is, I usually want to stuff myself after a good workout. I'm not usually home to cook/eat until 7. I just don't know…

Longtime user but never used community
Hello, I'm currently on a 509 day streak since I started MyFitnessPal in May 2023. Been on an eternal bulk, started at 120lb in January 2022 and now 206. I plan on cutting a little after I reach 211.

Hello from downunder!
I'm new to this forum, but have been using the myfitnesspal app for about two years. It's great and has really helped me stay on track with my diet and nutrition. Back in August 2023, I woke up in hospital after collapsing at home. They did every kind of test known, thinking I'd had a stroke. Turned out to be a TIA. Made a…

Hello! Looking for inspiration from other athletes
Hey! I'm Marilyn and have used MFP on and off through a couple of decades. I've weighed between 140 and 150 lbs for most of my life. That's really big for a NCAA Division 1 distance runner! And yet - I was 🤣 I still run about 40 miles per week, lift a couple of times, swim and bike and backpack and take walks, etc. I'd…

New here
Hi all, I’m new to community discussion boards. I’m trying to stay motivated. I’ve used my fitness pal to stay slim but now I’m focused on building muscle particularly, leg and glutes. I’ve been doing google searches and using muscle gain calculators to try to figure how many calories/protein I need to consume. It’s kind…

What name does the MyFitnessPal app use for "power snatches"?
Hi all, so I'm using the MyFitnessPal app to build a workout routine. When I go to add an exercise and enter "power snatch", I get no results. I thought this was a super standard exercise! Maybe I'm using the wrong term? I see "power clean" and "snatch" and "hang snatch" but no "power snatch". For an easy visual / video of…

Varying calorie goals by day
I’ve been learning about best practices for maintaining muscle while losing weight and I want to check my understanding… So if I have calculated a deficit of 300 calories, I’m wondering if I should eat at a higher calorie goal on days I am lifting weights. MFP does not attribute as many calories to non-cardio exercises (so…

App for logging strength training
There so many options out there to log (strength training) workouts, but my requirements are quite specific (I think)... The thing is that I have two different barbells and two different sets of (adjustable) dumbbells. Since the empty dumbbells and barbells have different weights, I'd like to be able to distinguish them…

Number of leg days per week----Is more better?
Hi, So I only do 30 minute leg workouts, combining weighted squats, dead lifts and Romanian deadlifts. Can I do this every other day or is that too much. On the other days, I do a 30 minute pretty intense trail bike ride to get my cardio in (I have heart issues so cardio is important for me to do). Thanks for any advise!

30+ Tips to Increase Strength Training Intensity
Brothers and sisters of iron, welcome! Resistance training is a wonderful method to increase strength, improve muscle tone/size, and work off some aggression in a positive manner. (I would get in trouble tossing *insert source of annoyance* around, so instead I will toss around some heavy pieces of iron.) Newcomers to the…

Stretching for more flexibility
Hi. I’ve always been a weight lifting person who likes strength training and the way my body feels after a workout. However I have no flexibility. I tried to go to a beginner’s yoga class once and I was so tight and had no balance. I recently started to do the 7 minute stretch exercises that this app recommended for a…
