How much should I eat before morning lift?
I normally lift in the afternoon/evening but need to switch it for vacation. I've struggled with morning lifts before feeling weak. If I eat a 300 calorie breakfast, how long should I wait to lift? 1.5 hour? Do I need more or less? (I'm 101 lbs)

Intermittent Fasting and Working out
Hello all, I've recently restarted IF 16/8 and it has helped me get past a plateau with my weight loss/fitness. My fasting begins at 9PM and ends at 1PM to correspond with my work hours-ish. Problem is, I was going to the gym in the morning around 9AM, and I find that I am light-headed doing the workouts I was doing…

For all you lifters out there! Moved to tears!?!?
Confession: I am a highly sensitive person so this phenomenon may be unique to me or others like me so no judgment! ;) There are some moves that push me to my limit that move me to tears! It's not a bad feeling just more of an OMG I just pushed THAT hard and my body experiences the sensation of needing to cry. So far,…

IF(currently 20:4 mostly) and sporadic EF, with lower carbs, crossfit/lifting plus long distance wal
Hi all, I have been intermittent fasting for several years now, though in the last couple of years struggled with having shorter eating windows....so I did a lot of 2mad with a 6-7 hrs window. That said, I've recently fallen into a 20:4 pattern with some days of 2mad (without limiting time) to fit my life. I am training to…

Deloading tips?
I've been lifting seriously for about a year now taking breaks here n there. The week of Thanksgiving was my last "deload" where I did 2 workouts that week instead of 4. Since then missed 1 day for being sick. I'm making good progress with my 4 day upper/lower split. I don't know if I should take a breather or keep going…

Accountability buddies
I'm back. Again. Officially hit middle age, have about 18 lbs I want to lose, and really need to get back to lifting and running after falling out of the habit due to brain surgery. I'll be honest - I'm way more consistent when I'm regularly using MFP - and I'm way better about using MFP when I have feedback from others -…

Feeling deadlifts in the legs
I recently took on a new objective of learning how to do deadlifts, and my beginner's session went well. I studied up on the correct form, I went to the gym and did 4 sets of 6-8 reps, to start off using about 40-50 lb (I'm a woman, I can probably lift 100 lb max). I managed to avoid using my lower back, yay for that. But…

Working Up to a Bikini Competition
Hey friends! So I've decided I'm going to compete in a CPA (Canadian Physique Alliance) bikini competition before I turn 35. It's always been a small goal in the back of my mind, ever since I got into fitness and lost 50lbs several years ago. Now I feel like I'm in a place in my life where things are stable, I'm focused,…

Rate my Lifting Routine (20F, 5ft10in, 99lbs)
I'm a very underweight AFAB (assigned female at birth) nonbinary person, as in my BMI is a little over 14. I've been lifting for 6 months and haven't gained much weight but I have gained inches on my arms and legs, etc. Pretty much everywhere but my waist. But I'm not sure if my routine is best for my goals, which…

Newly into fitness
Hey y'all! I hope everyone is doing well, I just had one question. I'm currently 26 weighting 151 pounds, im 5'6. I like my weight, I'd like to keep it and tone. However I am not a fan of the fat around my lower tummy. What can I do to maintain the weight I have and tone but also burn fat around just my tummy? If this is…

Please help me calculate exercise calories (cardio and weights)
Can someone help me calculate exercise calories for the following, or recommend a fitness device that doesn't cost a fortune that could do it? I am working a warehouse-type of job, 8 hours a night, 5 nights a week. I am a 5'3" female and weigh 138 pounds. Right now, I log that I burn about 500 calories a night because I…

Any supplements, etc. reccomended to help with intense muscle soreness (DOMS)?
I have been working out for about 4 years now and I mostly do strength exercises with some cardio thrown in and lots of stretching/mobility stuff but I have always been a person to easily get sore from working out and have the worst delayed onset muscle soreness ever! It's been a thing my whole life and I feel like it…

This time around... I cannot lose weight no matter how hard I try
50f, 5'11", 242 lbs. I've been using MFP off and on for a few years now but fell off the wagon after my mother died in 2018. Over the next four years, I devoted my life to caring for my father, and then my grandmother. Now that they have passed, I'm focusing on myself and my health. A couple of months ago, I started going…
