Any supplements, etc. reccomended to help with intense muscle soreness (DOMS)?
I have been working out for about 4 years now and I mostly do strength exercises with some cardio thrown in and lots of stretching/mobility stuff but I have always been a person to easily get sore from working out and have the worst delayed onset muscle soreness ever! It's been a thing my whole life and I feel like it…

This time around... I cannot lose weight no matter how hard I try
50f, 5'11", 242 lbs. I've been using MFP off and on for a few years now but fell off the wagon after my mother died in 2018. Over the next four years, I devoted my life to caring for my father, and then my grandmother. Now that they have passed, I'm focusing on myself and my health. A couple of months ago, I started going…

Too quick adaptation?
Hey ppl I changed my workout routine last Monday night. Yesterday even my armpits were sore (Flying machine was the culprit), but today, almost 48h after the 1st session, most exercises felt easy. Some of them were so easy I had to raise charges in about 5lbs. Is that normal? I ask that because on Monday I felt like I'd…

Currently weight 150 Lbs. Looking to hit 175-180 Lbs
I have lost a lot of weight in the past 2-3 years and I am looking to gain at least 20 lbs as soon as humanly possible. I started going to the gym routinely since the last week of June 2022, drinking "super" protein shakes with fruit, peanut butter, etc first thing in the morning at 530 AM before I go to work, and I am…

New Here
Hi everyone, I joined this app yesterday. My name is Amy. I have 36 pounds to lose. I gained it after my breast cancer surgery in 2020. That surgery put me into menopause. It also took the cancer away, so yay! These hormones are kicking my butt though. It's been so hard to lose. So we will see where this goes.

Getting Started - Advice Needed for those with Joint Replacements
Hi folks - I am looking for some advice on how to get started exercising. I am 39 and have had both of my hips replaced in the past year. I've also had 3 discectomies along the way. All of that to say, I'm not sure I should jump in and max out on squats right off the bat. Can you provide some pointers of how to get started…

How do I stop myself from failing?
I gained weight during COVID lockdowns - about 15kg (35ish pounds) so I now weigh in at 70kg (155 pounds). When I was at my happiest weight-wise I was around 55kg (120 pounds) so would really like to get back to that. I'm only 158cm (5foot3ish) so the extra weight is quite obvious and its mainly in my arms and stomach.…

262 lb to 180.2 lb
I started at 262 pounds for my heaviest weigh in. I knew I needed to make a change for the better! I ended up using a TDEE Calculator website and found my caloric intake for weight loss and stuck to that! I am still sticking to it as I have some fat on the lower belt that I want to lose! I never really cared about macros…

Different training phases? Neuro/Strength, Metabolic, Hypertrophy? Who can share their experience?
I am just starting to learn about different training phases. I have been lifting for about 2 years now and realize I have always been in the hypertrophy phase. I am just shifting to neuro/strength phase for the next 4 weeks, then back to hypertrophy for 4 weeks, then metabolic for 4-6 as I try to reverse diet/cut a bit and…

Automatically update sets, weight, reps values to the most recently submitted in the most used list
I always use the "Most used" list to add my strength training to the app, but the default values are always the first ones I put in. The values are set to what I first entered back when I started working out, when I didn't know what I was doing, so some of them have like 7 sets, which I always need to change to 4 now. (I…

How many calories should I be eating?
I'm a 100 lbs, 5'1. I lift 3 times a week and currently at 1,600 calories. I want to continue to build at my maintenance. Some days I'm fine with this, some days I'm hungry. Lately I've been pretty hungry n idk if it's cause I've increased the weight on some exercises? I hit my macros and eat a great amount of protein. I…
