Coming off Birth Control - Experience?
Hi, fellow cyst-ers! First, a little background - I am 26 and I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3 years ago after having very irregular periods my entire reproductive life. I was put on birth control and told that when it came time to try to get pregnant, I would most likely have to use fertility drugs. Fast forward to now -…

A Bit of Frustration with How I Carry the Weight
I know that this can be a bit more common with PCOSysters. 75% of the extra weight I carry seems to be in my lower abdomen. Some went to my arms, a little to my inner thigh, a surprisingly large amount to my ankles (they're a small body part, but geez I have fat ankles). Sadly, none went to my chest. I would have liked to…

PCOS and sex drive
When is my sex drive going to return? Please tell me it will come back? I am so sad never wanting to be intimate with my husband :( I've been on metformin 4 weeks and I've had one cycle. No improvement yet.

Doctor's Appointment Today
Got back good news! My triglycerides went from 368 to 254, but i need to be under 160 to be in the 'normal' range. Good news is with LCHF and increasing my exercise to 3 days a week or so (im not really regular with exercise) i dropped it over 100 points and need less than 100 to be 'normal'. Both the doctor and i were…

If you lift heavy ...
what do you find adequately fuels your workouts macro-wise? I feel like I need to lower my carbs again but I'm just starting NROLFW and I want to keep up with HIIT and running too, so I don't want to go too low, either.

Looking for a few new friends who can relate!
Hello ladies! I am new to the group, but not new to PCOS and definitely not new to trying to lose weight. I have lost and regained the same 10-20 lbs more times than I can count. I was first diagnosed with PCOS in 2011. I've since had another doctor tell me I did not have it and a third doctor tell me based on my blood…

Sleep apnea with PCOS
Hi all! I am new to this group so I apologize if this has already been discussed. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago and sleep apnea just last week. I didn't realize that sleep apnea could possibly be a symptom but I guess it's nice to know this fatigue wasn't my imagination! I do have a few questions, though. Does…

weight loss question/motivation
This is my first post ever on MFP and I have been using this site for almost a year and a half. I normally just go into the forums and read other posts to find answers but I thought I would make a post and see if I can get some advice/encouragement/support from you all since I have recently been unofficially diagnosed with…

Weight maintenance with PCOS
So I have reached a place where I am happy with my body by eating at the lose 1 lb. a week deficit of calories. I'm starting to become sick of eating at a deficit, and I'm wondering if I can eat at maintenance without gaining all the weight back. Do any ladies with PCOS have success with maintaining their weight while…

Stuck!
After kicking my soda habit I dropped 10 pounds pretty quickly but now I'm stuck. I'm walking at least 45 minutes every morning, and it's a really good walk, up and down hills and such, I've really lowered my carb intake, and I'm taking another evening walk, about 30 minutes, three or four times a week. But now, the scale…

EstroDIM
Has anyone here tried EstroDIM by OrthoMolecular? My doctor told me to try it as it helps the body metabolize estrogen, which in turn can help with PCOS and weight loss.

Confused and worried - PCOS, advice please?
Hey guys! So, technically, I was diagnosed with PCOS in October last year. They asked me to go back and check another hormone though, and stubborn as I am, I just decided to ignore the whole thing altogether. Why? Because I wasn't showing any superficial symptoms except that I might have a little bit more body hair but…

New to Group--HELP?!?!
Hey everyone. I just started using MFP as another attempt to get my health together. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18 told i was insulin resistant, and have struggled with my weight since. For a long time I did nothing to combat the PCOS. In fact not having periods was not that big of a deal for me :) Still don't have them…

Recent PCOS Diagnosis and Carb Question
I just got my PCOS diagnosis this week. One of the main things stressed to me was that I had to cut my carbs down to the 60-80 a day, at least. And to start eating a lot of lean meat and fish for protein. I think that I currently average in the 160s. (Don't judge my trying to go low carb based on this week, I had already…

Got my old records
I got the fax from my doctors office today. Not much of the info surprised me except I could definitely see the correlations between my weight, ^BP, and BCP. I didn't know this but they thought I had PCOS at age 15. The findings were insignificant, but later that year they put my on Ortho Tri Cyclen for extreme cramping…

Carb Flu - Carb Withdrawals - What can it do?
Anyone know if "carb flu" or carb withdrawals can make you angry, aggressive, manic, and uncaring?Or insatiably hungry? Not giving a flip about anything and being a crazy person? Last week before my oreo binge, I was feeling sick like a sinus infection/cold type of thing...now I'm a raving psychotic lunatic. Can I blame…

Is Low Carb for Life?
I'm currently trying to average 50-60 grams of carbs a day. For the time being, I think I can keep up with it. I def will try to stay on it as long as possible, but I can't help but think that this is not something that I can maintain for the rest of my life. Because I am vegetarian, it does limit what I can eat pretty…

Plateau-ing?
Anyone else have this problem? Every time I get down to around 144 lbs, my body wants to stay there. Even when I did eventually go down to 137.8 lbs, as soon as I ate the littlest thing, my body shot back up to the 140's, even if it was a healthy meal.

Pro tip - work with Metformin (now with numbers!)
So, I went to the doctor yesterday for my followup and found out that my insulin is up again. Now, I'm on the maximum dose she can give me at 1000mg 2x daily, so that clinches the fact that working with the Metformin by eating LC/HF is required. Here is a run-down of my numbers over the past year or so: 8/13 (LC/HF, no…

new to group and struggling what carbs I need
Hi everyone, I am 38 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS 6 years ago. I have had some weight loss success but if I cheat even with one item, I gain back. I am just wondering how many carbs do you all eat? Can you give me an example of what you all eat daily? Thanks so much!

ineffectively undiagnosed?
So MeepleMuppet made a point to me that I had never known before. That you do not need to have cysts to have PCOS. Now I have a ton of questions! So when I was 18 my OBGYN ordered some blood tests that were "abnormal"- not sure what. Then she sent me to an endo, which the only time I saw him was during the ultrasound. He…
