Hi ladies - here's an article regarding a blood test for Anti-Mullerian (AMH) and PCOS. AMH is tested to find out the ovarian reserve in women trying to conceive but is now possibly a marker of PCOS if on the high end. See article for ranges appropriate to your age:…

Some questions about inositol (some TMI)
Back story: Ok, so I ordered my Jarrow inositol last week. And received it on Wednesday. I started taking it straight away. I was aware taking too much right off the bat could cause severe stomach problems, so I started with the recommended basic dosage, which is 1/4 tsp, or 600mg. I noticed general improvements right…

Need help with PCOS and Lowering Cholesterol
I was diagnosed with PCOS over a decade ago and have found that a lower carb/higher fat diet has helped every time I try to lose weight. Unfortunately, I just came back from my primary care physician and my cholesterol levels are thru the roof!! I'm only 36 and don't want to go on statins at this time. I was told to…

Hi... can I vent?
I am pretty sure that I introduced myself in this group before, but I haven't been in in a while as I have been both not diligent with following a healthy diet and also because I have been crazy busy. I feel like in saying that I don't have the right to vent but I am just wondering if for a moment I can... I could use some…

More Wonky Thyroid Questions - T3 Medication Side Effects?
So, to give a little background, my PCP diagnosed me as hypothyroid some years back. We tried Armour, it did squat for me, because we didn't titrate up to therapeutic dosage levels. Went to an endocrinologist who basically told me until I lost weight, I was so fat that thyroid meds wouldn't help me. Dropped him like a hot…

I'm getting frustrated
Every day that I log-- which is usually 5-6 days a week-- I log diligently. I do cardio workouts a couple times a week along with weights 2 more times a week. I KNOW I am logging very accurately, using my scale all the time. You'd think after doing this for so long there'd be consistent weight loss but I've been stuck for…

Metformin
So I started Metformin in December 2015... I only really had GI issues for the first few days while my body adjusted and then no issues. I am now taking 2,000 mg/day (1,000 mg twice a day) and all of the sudden for the past week, continuing into this week I am having TERRIBLE GI issues from it. Anyone else experience this?…

Misdiagnosis and Insulin Resistance
Hey ladies, I've been thinking about when I was diagnosed with PCOS (2013), and the blood work that the OBGYN sent me to get. She did have a non-fasting blood sugar test done, and she said I wasn't insulin resistant, and that was odd. I'm wondering, since I've recently heard that sometimes the numbers aren't accurate if…

Increased carb cravings on Met?
I average about 100g of carbs per day (total, none of this "net carbs" stuff), and until recently, I've been just fine with it. I started Metformin a little over a week and a half ago (500mg ER, twice daily; was once for the first week). Now, though, I feel as though all I want to eat are carby stuff, and sugar cravings…

Further Discussion on Metformin, Extracted from Other Thread
@aSearch4Me -- Re: Metformin. I feel like a cheerleader in the Metformin Fan Club. I personally love the stuff. I noticed a big difference in my cycles AND my mood issue tendencies with Metformin (lifelong anxiety/depression cycle). My final dosage is 1000mg ER twice-a-day (2000mg ER total)....which might be the max dosage…

macro carb??
Hi. I reduced my macro to reflect 40% carbs over 50% it does on standard. So far its easy to keep in that range. I may drop it later. I'm 28, 5'8", currently 203.8 and a mother of two. I'm also 3 months postpartum. I was 135 in high school :( of course PCOS set in and I gained 70 pounds in less than 6 months. Probiotic Evaluation - Restora Rx
I developed a heat rash irritation/allergic response to tape resulting in a 5" square or so of irritated yeast rash this week. After visiting the doctor, she added Restora Rx as a sample to try for me. This is a probiotic with folic acid and lactobacillus casei (KE-99), 200 Billion CFU/g, and it looks like getting this…
