I know how much insulin to take per grams of carbs eaten. That isn't the issue as I understand that. I was just hoping to hear what other diabetics have done that work for them. And if it was possible to count the low carbs and number of calories. seems to me that the high protein diet would be higher in calories by nature.

i would not. i am also a nurse, but those miles you walk at work don't really count as extra exercise because your body is used to it. exercise is anything above and beyond your normal activity

not sure if this will help or not because i cannot compare it to net calories, but when my sister-in-law was on weight watchers and breast feeding it told her to eat 2x the number of points and she still lost a alot. good luck!

to each their own... i usually use hard cleaning days (moving furniture etc) to punish myself for a previous days binge eating or drinking lol but i don't log it

I am a dipper by nature... i love wings, but i have to pull them apart and dunk them in the sauce before i eat them. I don't mind eating with my fingers, but not if i have to get sauce on my fingers. I even dip my hamburgers in ketchup... hmmmm maybe i need help lol

i tend to have a cheat meal where i save all day and then make what i want fit in to my calories... maybe once a month (like last nights friends bday party) i went over by 500 calories, but i logged it all and cleaned my house top to bottom today as punishment. Makes me feel like i pay for it or earn it.

i tried once and i was starving to death... i like the general calorie count diet much better.

i do this and add sliced strawberries and light cool whip... increases the cal some but yummy yummy!

3 slices precooked turkey bacon on toast with tomato slices and miracle whip about 225 cal depending on your bread choice!

<the man in my picture with me! He love me no matter my size but I want to live a long and healthy life with him. I don't want him to have to take care of me because i am too fat to move. i went to burger king and had a whopper combo (all large sizes) then went to mcd's and had a big mac combo and a sundae... an hour later my sister called and invited me to olive garden. Where I then had 4 glasses of rasp lemonaid, a bowl of zuppa tuscona, and spaghetti and meatballs. winner here lol
