Whey is a complete protein and plant isn't. I'd say go with whey.

Sorry for the poor grammar and weird wording! I'm on my phone!
-
oooh me, me! Pick me! I am also terrified. I think I'm going to do what another person said and work my way up to maintenance and stay there for a while. I'll then add slowly what I feel necessary to increase muscle mass.

That's almost the minimum amount of calories ALL women are recommended. If you are at or close to your goal, I recommending increasing. Especially with that amount of exercise

My hair stylist loves it lol I agree with the others, get the nutrition from real food. I dont even find protein power or multivitamins necessary. I use greek yogurt in my smoothies and it has tons of protein. If I need more then I add a nut butter. Throw some fruit and spinach in there and you have plenty of vitamins and…

Carb cycling may not "trick" your body into doing anything, but if it adds motivation and keeps you aware of your food intake then you do you. I've never tried or read into it, but right now I eat about 40% carbs. If I were to do this I would probably switch that to 50% four days a week and 30% three days a week. Or…

So basically I'm just afraid lol I don't want to fail and just gain fat again
-
Question to everyone whose seen results: what do you eat? Are you at a deficit, maintaining, or above? I just lost 12 lbs and I'm afraid of upping my calories. Also has anyone just used free weights? I'm afraid of deadlifts

Bumpity bump

I've lost almost 30lbs before and gained it all back. Now I'm on round two. I'm not back to my goal weight but I am very comfortable. I hope next time it'll be before a 20lbs gain that I get my wake up call lol You guys are right. And there's no secret, I just have to want it and make it part of my life
-
I use a heart rate monitor in school for a lot of testing, and they really aren't very accurate either. I'd probably stick to 50% rule and see how it feels
-
I was saying this to sum up the usual responses. If you can just have one cookie then great, but I want to hear from people who have struggled with this and found "tricks" that helped them.

Like i said, if i know i'm going to go out to some restaurant where i'll eat an ungodly amount of calories, i fast that day. That way, even if i do some real damage it's limited. Other than that, willpower. Don't let anyone guilt you into anything. You need to make the decision that your goal is more important than being…

I know these types of forums are everywhere, but this really helped me pinpoint my mistakes. I don't have structure to my diet. I'm in college, so I like to save up calories for a cheat meal with my boyfriend or a few going out drinks. The problem is I never know what day that is going to be. I find myself allowing myself…

Where can I purchase this so called "willpower?"
-
Hah! Wow it's supposed to be about 4 grams of fat. I was looking through some of the food but didn't think to check the crackers! I knew that didn't seem right even with the fish. Thank you!
-
Sorry to add more confusion, but I'm pretty sure most of the food entries are based on raw weight. At least that's what I've heard about for meat
-
Looks like I'll just have to suck it up. I hate putting on weight after I just worked to get rid of it, but I know it will be a lot better for me physically. Thanks again

Okay so getting ripped and bulking are two different things. I'm not really sure what I want in that case; just some definition in my shoulders and abs, and for my thighs to be more toned. Why do I need to up my calories? Is it not possible to gain muscle at a deficit? My understanding is you will lose fat and gain muscle…

Thank you for all of the help! I think I'll keep doing research and find what I really want to do and make sure I'm doing it right. Also, if you view my diary after reading that I like to eat nutritional food, just ignore the chickfila

I do currently strength train and I haven't gotten my body fat since before I started losing weight. I'm 5'5" and 118 so I'm pretty small. Two years ago I got down to 108

Gaining muscle isn't unhealthy, just the calorie dense foods. I'm used to a 1200 calorie day with fruits and vegetables, I'm not really sure how to do anything different. I also prefer eating the most natural foods possible.
-
See, this terrifies me. I don't want to gain fat and with calorie dense foods and cardio once a week it sounds very unhealthy. The last time I lost weight though I actually got too low on the BMI scale, and I'm trying to avoid that again. Ugh.

As bad as it is, buying things motivates me. Is started with a gym membership that offered classes I liked and was close to home and then bought a water bottle and sports bras that were actually supportive. After about a month I bought myself a new food processor and blender. And my boyfriend just bought me a food scale!…

Omg where. Where do I find this.

The amount of calories I'm being recommended is more than what myfitnesspal gives me. I usually eat around 1200-1400, and the macros calculator is saying anywhere from 1560-1632. Should I be eating more? I'm 5'5" and 120 lbs
-
I don't find this to be making anything difficult, but more so creating small goals that are easily reached. Like instead of cutting out all desserts, I would say no dessert Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I agree with someone else's comment that it might be more successful to have short term goals. Either way, I'm almost…

Whoops I forgot you could see my age! Lol I'm almost there!

Things like 90 calorie bags of chips or cookies aren't really a great snack option. They have no good nutritional value and will leave you hungry. Don't get me wrong, I indulge once and a while, but I would stick to some fruits/vegetables with a protein. You could also make your own granola bars and control the sugar that…

Well I'm obviously up, so I'm going to the class lol
