A couple of months ago I started whole food, plant-based diet. I would definitely recommend starting your searches there because WFPB recipes don't call for fake meat and dairy. They focus on those food, like you say, that belong in your body. I absolutely love it because I started on this way of eating (and plan to keep…

I make keto granola (I mix chopped pecans, sliced almonds, chia seeds, flax meal, sugar-free coconut flakes, coconut oil (unrefined) and some erythritol and then put it in the oven for 20 min at 325). I love this stuff in some almond milk (as cereal), or a little bit of greek yogurt, of homemade keto whipped topping.

It may not be for you, but I'm not happy at this weight. I'm only referring to myself. Thanks.

Ideally, I would stay on it always. Realistically, life happens and I fall back off, gain weight, and start to feel it in my body. Like I said, I've been doing it on and off since 2015. It just happens to be the way of eating that works for me when I want to lose weight and feel better. I also forgot to mention with keto…

Hmmm...I found out about keto in 2015 and have done it on and off since then. I started back up because my weight was really bothering me. My hubby would say I was fine, but at 5'6" and 158 lbs, I'm not happy. I have always been no more than 135, prior to my last kid. I got down to 141 as my lowest on keto, but when I…

I love keto, but it's definitely not magic or some miracle diet. I've done keto on and off for the last 2.5 years. And I do still do CICO while on it. The best thing about it for me is that I tend to eat more real foods - fresh meats, veggies, berries, fats like avocados and coconut oil. I also stay full on it longer. I do…

Do more yoga and meditation. Do more fun things with my family and stop focusing on work so much.

I always forgive. Forgetting and not letting it get to me is harder.

I prefer to wear clothes that are both more modest and make me feel good. They're not typically baggy. But they do tend to cover more. One of my favorite style icons is Kate Middleton. I think wearing clothes that make you feel good, regardless of body type, will show your confidence the best.

I've done that before. I love graham crackers. :)

So sorry for your loss. You sound like a strong lady.

I had tried it to try to reduce some inflammation I had. Unfortunately, it was too harsh on my teeth, even diluted. I like it, though!

I feel your pain. After I turned 40 weight just doesn't come off as fast as it did when I was in my 30's. I used to be able to drop 10 lbs in 2 weeks and keep it off until I had some big event, like a week-long cruise where I eat whatever. But I find that when I tweak my diet a little for a short time, it can help break…

I have the SAME story as @dfranch. Hubby did it 5 yrs ago, and is still overweight. Here's the thing, if you're not in control of the issues that cause you to gravitate towards making poor eating choices, a surgery won't fix it. A bariatric surgeon in our area told of a patient who was obese, had bariatric surgery, was on…

I'm learning that I may be more insulin resistant than I thought I was. That said, I rarely eat bread or anything else that may spike my blood sugar, including other carbs like high sugar fruit (bananas, pineapples, etc.), pasta, and rice. I don't avoid them completely because...life. :) There was a point about a year ago…

It's not odd to me, but sometimes in the Asian food section of the grocery store, they sell shrimp chips. I can eat a whole bag by myself! :p

The low carber's forum (http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group) has a lot of members who do keto and other forms of low carb. There is a great knowledge-base among the members you'd really benefit from.

@raytamtay3 - I agree. Everyone has to do what works for them. I used to be able to lose weight on 1500 calories a day of consisting of chicken breasts, oatmeal, apples, sweet potatoes and egg whites. And these days, I can't lose an ounce on that, let alone 1500 calories on bread, potatoes, or pasta. Unfortunately, for me,…

Topamax? Interesting, I've only ever heard it prescribed for migraines. I was prescribed Topamax for my migraines once, and my doctor said I might probably lose weight on it. I stopped taking it because it would make my food taste weird, so I'd have no desire to eat. Maybe that's how it affects appetite? Plus, I had other…

I can definitely appreciate your anxiety! Knowing that you were successful with your plan of 100g carbs, and then seeing that number go up from adding in more carbs. I have been there. Aren't our brains fabulous?! haha. It's going to take time and re-programming. I liked the idea of adjusting your macros up to 130-140, and…

If I could be fit and healthy on it, I'd eat french fries every day! :D

I LOVE oatmeal, and when I was eating it I ate it with a scoop of my chocolate protein powder, a little bit of unsweetened coconut, pecans and blueberries. OMG, soooo good. Even my son started begging me to make it for him, and he didn't even like oatmeal before that. I recently tried a flax/chia seed "noatmeal" recipe,…

Today is my first day of IF, and I did 16:8. It was TOUGH! At about 9:30am, I just looking at the clock wondering if it was noon yet! Of course, it didn't help that I woke up hungry, but I think that has something to do with that T.O.M. Curse it! I really hope I can make it through the week.

I've been eating keto on and off as well since 2015 and for me it's the easiest way of eating to lose weight. I'm actually starting it back up today because I've been feeling crappy eating way too many carbs recently. I've also done IIFYM but do find myself hungry more often. I often hit up the two sites listed earlier.…

When I first started, I picked a few staples to start with so that I wouldn't get overwhelmed with all of the keto recipes out there. There are a LOT, and the best way to go is to read reviews from people who've actually tried the recipes because they're not all good. I started with butter, bacon, eggs, cheese, avocados,…

For myself, I try to avoid trans fats, anything hydrogenated/partially hydrogenated, margarine (fake butters), vegetable oils. I prefer using coconut and olive oils.

If I had to pick one thing it's Diet Coke. I know it's not a food, but I love it. I try not to drink more than one of those 16.9 oz bottles a day, though.

A little late, but I started back up on keto on Tue., so this challenge is great! I'm only 3 days in, but I'm feeling good! 1) Drink min. of 80 oz of water. 2) Start strength training 4 days/week (2 upper/2 lower). 3) Carbs 20g net, per day. 4) Cut back on dairy. 5) Start waking up at 5am to workout. If I wait until the…
