  • How do you eat? If you get lots of fruit/veg/meat then probably not. If you live on bread, potatoes and pasta then quite possibly. I take a B-complex purely because a med I take depletes me of B12, and B's are best taken together. I also take a D3 because I live in Northern England and the sun doesn't seem to visit England…
  • Not exactly sure how this improves flexibility... you are only going as far as your muscles can take you so not really lengthening them at all, the limiting factor is the strength of your flexing muscles, not the stretch of the relaxed muscle.
  • Further to my post above... Figured I'd add in my 2p as to why I like the Sweaty Betty ranges. Firstly, it depends on what range you are looking at, their dance/yoga ranges may be less practical for gym wear depending on the piece. Their yoga pants with the fold over tops for instance... great for yoga, pain for other…
  • Useless? Can't say that I've found anything of theirs useless apart from the odd piece that is obviously more "relaxed fashion" rather than functional gymwear (cowl necks, dresses, general beach wear etc)... What is it that you find useless about their gear? Personally I like their stuff.
  • These are things that are very easy to change for you. You don't *have* to sit and watch TV for hours. Nobody is making you sit there surrounded by foods except yourself. Go out, take a walk, do something. When you come back then perhaps you will have burned off enough calories to sit and enjoy a cookie or two with your…
  • From a look through the past week or so, this seems to be a swing from what at times seemed to be a low carb diet, the fibre thing is new. I think it would perhaps be better if you aimed for balance and moderation rather than going all out with fads, then gorging on what you have been depriving yourself of. You need…
  • I'm the same, and have also had people expressing serious concern for my wellbeing. I'm very pale, but I'm also dark-haired, so I think it becomes even more startling for strangers to see me looking like my head is about to explode. I wish I had an answer. Cooling etc does absolutely nothing, it's just something you have…
  • Up North
  • Above. Rabbits are very capable jumpers. Mine could easily jump a 3ft wall. I never tried stopping them digging so I'm no help there.
  • completely untrue you'd need a whole lot more than 6 inches.
  • I have a staggering collection of dandelions. I should start harvesting them to produce beverages. Or perhaps buy a rabbit to eat them. Maybe a goat... Homegrown dandelion-reared mutton curry?
  • The other issue is RHR... I've never been massively overweight, but I have been *EXTREMELY* unfit with the majority of my "exercise" being walking to the kitchen. I would have had issues running 100yds. However, my RHR has ALWAYS been sub-60. Whilst RHR can be used as an indicator of someone's fitness level, it is not…
  • Aren't there lots of healthy food delivery systems in the States? Where you pay them a silly amount of money and they send you fresh, "nutritionally balanced meas" within a certain calorie count each day? Would depend on where you are I suppose, but I'm fairly certain that if you have enough disposable income to be parted…
  • ^ this Far too much hassle.
  • PVA glue It's a binder. Cheaper substitute for egg whites.
  • My problem is that I brought up "morals" as a simple way to explain how people could possibly have more success sticking to something, those morals being an individual belief that someone has and absolutely nothing to do with 'right' or 'wrong'. But there's the issue isn't it. People strive for absolutes, black and white,…
  • I ignore a thread for a few days because I've said all that I wanted to, then see it has an insane amount of replies and come back to see why. First posts I see are these. Morals are INDIVIDUAL. Everybody has their own moral code which they stand by. It is influenced by society, peers, family and religion as well as ones…
  • She can't simply eat things at this stage. It could trigger a heart attack. It's no longer as simple as helping herself, she really needs medical help as her organs are failing. She has been trying to get help for quite some time apparently, but various doctors are refusing to help her because her weight is too low. Once…
  • eh? How exactly does a carrot preserve muscle? Ah, there we go. I see. Wonder what she's trying to promote here? ;) Some of the points she raises are interesting and some are known to be fairly valid... the caffeine thing with exercise for example, however I would absolutely lose to see the references for the majority of…
  • I saw this on the news the other day, ironically at the same time that the large thread on that plus-sized woman on the cover of People magazine was going on. At the time I thought it was much more news-worthy to be honesty, something that shows clearly the dangers of extremes of weight (in either direction). I was tempted…
  • At the risk of sounding horrible and potentially getting flamed... I really want to take every single one of these "I hate healthy food" people and shove them on a desert island for a month. Lets see how picky they really are... *is completely sick of seeing umpteen "texture" posts a day*
  • one more thing to add... I've no idea how tall you are but from your profile pic you are already fairly slim (do you *really* have 12lbs to go?) Your margin of error at your size is likely to be much smaller unless you are getting a decent amount of exercise, you aren't likely to have thousands of calories banked up to…
  • The problem with cheat days is some people tend to go a little overboard and indulge in everything they are consciously depriving themselves of through the week... next thing they know they have undone all of that week's deficit and are sitting scratching their heads wondering why they aren't losing weight whilst they are…
  • I played it with pen and paper :(
  • I'm confused... reward for what?
  • I think it's more a case of drinkers will use running as an opportunity to allow them to eat and drink ;)
  • Well here is a thread that demonstrated quite brilliantly the difference between fat and muscle: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10165445/fat-skinny-fat-fit-imgz#latest Pay very close attention to the "lightest" and "healthiest" photos and the difference between them, even though "lightest" is 10 lbs…
  • If by protein shakes you mean some supermarket rubbish or, even worse, some fad-diet based rubbish, then I can see why you don't like them. The Optimum Nutrition chocolate/strawberry Pro Complex ones taste exactly like milkshakes. Like... EXACTLY like nesquick. Pricey, but a "picky eater's" dream. As Pu_239 said, at the…
  • This. My recommended intake without exercise is 1330. Which is... not a lot. So when I'm feeling a bit "meh" and can't be bothered, I just think to myself whether or not I *REALLY* want to be eeking out my remaining 800 calories for the rest of the day (my breakfast is always around 500). It's also better if you have a…
