My wife and I are both on the weight loss journey which is a big help. We also both get up early and put in fairly long days at work. What we do is cook large batches of what we like on the weekends, portion them out and freeze them. Sunday we move the lunches for that week to the fridge. Breakfast (also at work) is…

go the the MFP Blog at the top of the page and when there search on "body weight" and there will be many exercise routines that do not require fancy equipment. I would also do the same kind of search say "body weight exercise" on the internet for more info. If you have access to a DVD player maybe something like P90X would…

Large shirt down from a 2X and 38 waist jeans down from 46s that probably should have been 48s. :)

Amazing result congratulations. Oh and Pretty for certain, Little yes, Nobody absolutely not. You have shown that in all that you have accomplished.

I don't use the phone app so I cannot help you with that. As for recording an exercise session, you start it by pushing the button and hold it in until the Fitbit vibrates. As soon as it vibrates let go of the button and you will see a stopwatch start counting. When you are done with your exercise you push the button and…

Congrats and may I say you make 40 look very good. :)

WOW what a change. Keep up the good work.

Lost the 2 pounds I gained back last week for some reason so back to 220. Cold seems to finally be going away so back to exercising today.

I will continue to use my treadmill and Bowflex and probably try to do some walking outside when I can. I'm in a rural area in Indiana so home is my gym.

Congratulations on the birthday and welcome.

Congratulations on your success. Folks like you inspire those of us still on our journey.

As others have said this is normal. Personally I think weighing every day will cause too much stress because of the normal fluctuations. I weigh myself once a week and that seems to work to average everything out.

Just turned 64 this month so definitely have the above part covered. Started out in March with 110 to lose according to the BMI calculators and now 60 left to go. I have lost this kind of weight before and it is certainly different now that I am older.

Arrrrrrrrrrgh. Been fighting a massive head cold since Thanksgiving. Doing as much exercise as I can manage and staying on my calories and some how gained 2 pounds this week.
-
That is so cool. Congratulations. That is one of my goals.

Just turned 64 and started with MFP in March 2015 at 272 lbs. Currently 220 and on my way to 160. Treadmill 5 days a week and resistance training 3 day all at home.

You join just by posting so welcome.

I used one of the online BMI calculators to set my goal at 160 which is about mid-range normal for me (male 5' 10"). I have a long way (60lbs) to go yet so I am content for now to leave it at that but my plan is that once I get say within 20 pounds of the goal I will get my body composition checked out either in a BodPod…

Lost 2 lbs so 220 on the way from 272 to 160. Finished resistance and treadmill for today.

Down 50 pounds since March (272-222) in time for my 64th birthday so 60 more to go before the next one.

Hey I would like to join the cool kids. :) 40 + 24 as of next week so I think I have the 40+ covered. 5' 10" male started at 272 and now 222 as of today. Goal using BMI calculators is 160 but that may require adjustment over time. Currently on the treadmill 5 days a week for 30 minutes each and using a Bowflex 3 days a…

That you will feel like you are leaning forward when you walk but that the reality is that you aren't leaning back to balance the belly. :)

Yes it definitely works. My wife and I combined have lost 100 pounds and both rarely have trouble with hunger despite the reduced calories. For me choosing foods that are less calorie dense like veggies allows me to get plenty on my plate which helps. Also choosing lean meats or fish (or legumes and grains) again lets you…

I agree with shannleslie, use walking 2.5 or 3.0 instead of the treadmill ergometer.

I'll turn 64 next week and plan to retire at the end of the year. I want to be able to be able to do more with my wife of 40 years (who is doing this with me) and enjoy the world outside my cubicle for as long as I can.

Thanks for posting this. I have been stressing out because of gaining when I should be losing or just not losing. It helps to know it is typical. I would post my MFP chart if I could figure out how to do it.
