Very informative! Thank you!

So (to answer a few questions), I already exercise quite a bit. I do 2x weekly strength training, average about 13,000 walking steps a day, and am participating in a stair climbing competition at work. I also run 2x weekly and try to mix in other workout options (like yoga and pilates) as time allows. I plan on maintaining…

Sure is!

Transitioning from obese to overweight. I'm very close, but I've also hit a plateau (for the last month), so my mini-mini goal is to bust through that.
-
This is a mixed victory, but here goes: I've been in a plateau for the last month or so, due to poor eating choices and just generally overdoing it on the junky holiday food over the holidays. However, I've only gained half a pound and once the barrage of holiday shenanigans has ended I think I'll be able to bust right…

Lightly active is still probably appropriate, since you are up and moving around and not chained to a desk all day. You could also track as sedentary, but log your exercise (mostly walking, it sounds like) on top of that.

My mini goal is about 3 pounds away- moving from 'obese' to merely 'overweight.' 3 pounds, you guys! So close, and yet.

Meal planning for the week is a lifesaver. I usually do all my planning and food prep on Sunday afternoon for the week, but wherever you can fit it into your routine can work. Also-make it part of your routine! Just like school and work, but instead of nurturing your brain and bank account, this is time spent nurturing…

Such a noticeable difference! Now you've got some killer cheekbones. Good job!

My thighs. I've always, always had big, thick, muscular thighs (and they still are), but now the fat is shrinking away to show a pretty shapely (not just bulgey or chubby) leg underneath.

This morning I was able to do not one, but five or six, yoga moves that I couldn't do six months ago. I did the plow, a shoulder stand, one legged chair (whatever that's called...), and a few others that my weight and body fat had previously prevented me from doing. Thing is, I don't think I'm significantly fitter than I…

800 jumps!!!! Wow!
-
Climb a rope! That's another thing I have never successfully done. That, and rock climbing. Alright, those are going on the list!
-
You're welcome! Here's to pull ups! :)

Bingo! Nail on the head. It is a vicious cycle, methinks. Someone will be mean or dismissive to you for being overweight, and suddenly you begin to suspect that all mean behavior toward you happens for the same reason. I am trying to work on my inner as well as outer wellness, which includes letting go of as many of those…

I know what you mean about #1... it feels good to stretch properly again.

Awesome, everybody!!! You can do it!!!

Awesome, everybody!!!

Well, how do you feel when you read other people's weight and exercise posts? I find endless posts about 'how far I ran today' and 'look, I'm a warrior #blessed', well, a little irritating... so I refrain from making similar posts. But if that's your bag, go for it. Don't let the naysayers of the world get you down!

Awesome! Paddle boarding sounds like a blast!

My roommate and I were discussing this very thing this morning. She is online dating right now; I am taking a break (with no end in sight). I have an analogy for the whole experience that should work for all genders (though it was prepared from my straight female perspective, so I don't know): Online dating is like trying…

My arms are thinner and more toned. I have never, never had toned arms before. Also, my thighs are shrinking, my face is slimmer and more youthful (got carded three times this week), and my back fat has almost magically disappeared. Curious to see what comes next. After all, I'm still technically obese!

40 lbs down and just got my first wave of comments and compliments. Which is a bit of a mixed blessing, as I am a little uncomfortable with people talking about my weight. That said, most people have just said "You're looking good," and kept it at that. I'll take it.

Today I kept having to hike up my gym pants- pants that used to be almost too small, despite being stretchy. Today I was in danger of having them fall off in the gym. The time for new pants has finally arrived.
-
Which is exactly right.
-
Woohoo! I've got about 8 pounds until I'm 'overweight.' I'm hoping to be 'overweight' by the start of 2016 (fingers crossed).
-
Aha! That must be it!

Just don't get discouraged when 'easy' becomes 'trying.' It may, even if only for a while. For me and most of the people I know, the first couple of months were a breeze. The weight peels off and your clothes start to fit differently within the first few weeks. Then your body catches on to what is happening, and suddenly…
