  • If you are not a breakfast person, save your calories for later in the day. I hate eating early in the morning. A cup of coffee and I am good to go till noon. Don't fall victim to the "shoulds".... of weight loss. The same thing doesn't work for everyone. We are all wired differently, and what might be "right" for one…
  • I am older and also have health issues. However, before I retired, I was able to get my employer to set up my desk so that I could work at it standing or sitting. I spent some part of my day standing at my desk. Any kind of body movement helps. While it's not the same as working out, it is important to not stay completely…
  • Lack of sleep and stress can also affect weight loss. If you get a few minutes to yourself, try walking in place and watch some TV or listen to music to relax a little. The easy exercise will relax you and also help to up your calorie burn. Go for mostly lean meats and fish. Eat lots of vegetables to help you fill full and…
  • My Charge HR is also not syncing tonight. Worked just fine yesterday, but also had the same problem one day last week. Hope that get this resolved soon....so annoying!!!
  • My Charge HR is also not syncing tonight. Worked just fine yesterday. Are they working on updates again??? Just happened last week too!!!???
  • Mine will not sync my steps tonight. Yesterday it worked fine.
  • Skinny vanilla misto....has more coffee and less skim milk. If I want food, I go for the reduced fat turkey bacon, egg white breakfast sandwich.
  • I noticed that eating breakfast makes me hungry all day. I've read the experts say to eat breakfast because it's the most important meal of the day and it jump starts the metabolism?? But it just makes me hungry, no matter if I eat protein and/or carbs!! I just recently started intermittent fasting, and I love the 16:8…
  • If I pull food from the database and not from my "recents" or "saved meals", I can log food. However, my steps from my Fitbit still will not upload today.
  • My standard snack rotation is fresh fruit, sugar free jello or sugar free pudding with some sugar free cool whip; 100 calorie pop corn, veggies and humus, or caramel flavored rice cakes, and occasionally, some dark chocolate with a glass of red wine. If I have the calories left at the end of the day, then I get a treat. If…
  • I would also add that if you can't find time to get out and walk, or if the weather is bad in your part of the country, just get up and move. Think...,Leslie Sansone. It's better to march in place inside than sit and watch TV. Get a step tracker like a fitbit and make a commitment to walk 10K steps every single day. Count…
  • Especially friends and coworkers who are overweight, but not interested in losing at this time. I get the feeling they think I am "preaching" to them when I talk about watching my diet and exercise. So I try to be considerate and only talk about it if they bring up the subject first.
  • I have lost and regained the weight so many times....that said, I think continuing to log or not log depends on each of us knowing ourselves well enough to know whether continuing logging will help us stay on track once we reach our goal. (I have ten more pounds to go.) When I stopped logging in the past, I fell back into…
  • I sometimes feel that I should just wean myself off sweets. The more sugar I eat the more I want and crave. I usually buy dark chocolate and try to treat myself to just one small block in the evening with a cup of coffee or occasional glass of red wine. But then I have a hard time skipping a sugar fix the next evening.…
  • I agree with you 100%! When I saw those freestyle ads I posted a rant on Facebook. Who can eat a huge plate of food, like the one lady had, with those huge serving sizes and lose weight?? I know they are just trying to pull in customers, but it seems so deceitful. I know WW is a good program for some people. We are all…
  • Veggies and hummus, fresh fruit, popcorn, nuts (weighed/measured), but first, drink water to see if that will take care of the urge to snack.
  • My Charge HR also would not connect yesterday or today.
  • Over the years, I think I've tried every fad diet out there. But I think the Mediterranean Diet is the real deal!! I lost more weight, more quickly, felt more full, most of the time, and felt better. And it's a way of eating I can live with from now on. Good luck!!
  • 15,592 steps for today; 13,943 yesterday!!
  • I'm in for 10,000 steps a day for November.
  • I second the Aldi recommendation, if you have one in your area. If not, stay away from the big chains, unless you go armed with their weekly special flyer. Plan for leftovers; cook and make enough to get two meals from one dish. You can supplement the dish with salads and/or bread or soup. Good luck!!
  • I am 1200 calories a day also. But that keeps me motivated to move about more to be able to enjoy a little more food-it's a trade-off. I wear a Fitbit that is linked to MFP, and it makes me very happy too earn those extra calories from walking 10 to 20K steps every day.
  • For everyone who is struggling, I feel your pain. The story of my life has been gain, lose, then gain and lose, then gain. There is a magical, mystical and sometimes elusive thing called motivation that we want to grasp and hang on to for dear life....I recently lost 40 pounds, and again, since I've retired and my…
  • I agree that 1800 calories a day seems high, but you do need to follow the advice of your doctor and nutritionist. Have you tried drinking lots of water, and can you be just a bit more active, even if just moving your arms and body more while seated. Don't give up; keep fighting. I also have a lot of weight to lose, and it…
