I will get sick if I try to eat too much food at a time. Sometimes I’ll think “Oh, there’s just one piece left. Might as well just finish it.” And then I’ll be in the bathroom 15 minutes later. My stomach is VERY firm about how much it wants in it. And fatty foods do tend to fill it up faster. Could it be something like…

Real Salt makes a couple of small shakers. One holds about an oz of salt and the other about 2 oz. I carry the small one in my purse and pack the larger if I’m going away for a few days. Just keep using the same shakers and refilling them.

This is not new! I am 62 years old and I joined WW the first time when I was 13 with my mom. They had a separate diet for teens then - I was allowed 1 more bread or carb product per day, a slightly higher protein allowance and I think an extra fruit. This was a long time ago and they didn’t have they “point” system so it…

Unflavored, whole milk yoghurt has the lowest carbs.

Hashimotos and DH (dermatitis herpetiformis), Never bothered getting tested for celiac, although I think I have it, since DH is also caused by gluten and requires a GF diet.

Here's directions for making your own spruce gum. I don't plan on doing it, but it's interesting. http://www.motherearthnews.com/real-food/spruce-gum-zmaz81jfzraw.aspx?PageId=1#ArticleContent

I have heard of one person who loved peanut butter on apples for a snack but found she couldn't eat a whole apple. She would take a half, or even a quarter, a day. Put lemon juice on the remainder and have it another day. She found that a small amount of apple, with the protein and fat in the peanut butter, wouldn't bother…

Oh, and under The Great Courses there's one called "Food:A Cultural Culinary History." That might be a good one for you.

A search on audible under low carb diets lists a page full. I don't know how good any of them are. There are a couple I wouldn't really consider low carb, but I'm just going by the write up. I don't have any of these books. Just searching the word diet brings up 116 pages of books. Bound to be something there.

Well, Dave Asprey's "The Bulletproof Diet" in on audible. There's also a downloadable List of recipes. I have the recipes, although I didn't buy the book. I don't know if the book is any good, but it's supposed to be how he lost weight and got healthy on a HF diet.

Something nobody's really mentioned, but I know from my own experience that when I get a craving for something that lasts for days, it's because there's something in that food my body needs. Ok, I'll crave bad examples (but good tasting) things in the category, but there is something about them that I need. For instance,…

I've made a fake "warm breakfast cereal" type dish with ricotta cheese, a little butter and/or cream. Heat in the microwave or on the stove. Add whatever flavorings you like, sweetner, cinnamon, a few berries, etc. Not too bad. More like cream of wheat or rice than oatmeal, but closer than eggs.

Speaking of the coming holidays, and now that we have gravy recipes, did you know that stuffing made with bread is a very modern idea? Stuffing used to be made with minced meats, usually a mixture of pork, veal and/or mutton, although other meats were also used when available, spices, and a binding agent. EGGS were used as…

I've been trying to figure out how to fit a cleaning service into my budget, LOL. Even once a month so I can have a week off.

Congratulations!

I order from proteinfactory.com I like that there are premixed formulas if you're in a hurry or don't know what you need, but you can also customize a formula with protein of choice (whey, egg, etc.) sweetener, vitamins, etc. I've tried a number of different ones. Some are better than others, but none have been bad. Also,…
