  • I started out in January and i was at 242. I am currently at 198, and my first goal was going to be 185, which would put me at the “overweight” BMI range, instead of obese. When i started, i thought 185 was going to be impossible. After talking to my doctor, she thinks I’ll be 185 by June
  • I agree with everything said above! But I also found that after being on Keto for about a month, that I was starting to eat less. Like, my serving sizes went down and that helped to dramatically reduce my carbs. Simple things like eating half a can of tuna instead of a whole can. I used to pack my lunch full of 5-7…
  • The first two weeks is always the hardest part! If you can get that far, you can get over the next hump. One thing that would probably help is to get rid of all the foods you could "binge" on at home. If you don't have carbs easily available, it makes it less likely you will eat them. Also, I have found when I am really…
  • Definitely low carb for life. I am hoping once I get to maintenance, I won't have to do Keto so strictly. But I am just 3 months in...so who knows what will happen once I hit goal lol.
  • I fast from about 6:30 pm to 10:30 am, which is a 16 hour fast. I can have a snack at 10:30 if I need, but most of the time I can actually just make it to lunch at noon. Then I have dinner between 5:30 and 6:30.
  • When I started doing keto, I found you have completely change the way you think about food. We had to start from the ground up and go back to the basics. You gotta start with whole ingredients and work your way to meals. A lot of foods you can buy already made are PACKED with carbs (it's cheap and makes their food taste…
  • I am also trying to work diet coke out of my life. I used to drink 2 20 oz bottles a day. I am now down to about 12 oz a week. I have noticed that it does affect my weight loss and cause me to stall a bit. It also really messes with my tummy these days. It has been very difficult...good luck!!
  • Emeals is fantastic! You can't plug in your intolerances, but they do have several different plans. Paleo, Low Carb, Diabetic, Kid friendly etc. It is $60 for a year's worth of recipes! And it has a shopping list included in it. We have been using it for 3 years and it has been perfect for us!
  • We use a Weight Watchers one (not on WW though, lol). It does do BF% and BW% and BMI etc.
  • Definitely going back to tracking will help! I think you will be surprised with how much of a different it will make going back to it. Good luck! :)
  • I am also in for March! Have seen great progress in January and February :). I am doing a diet bet this month, so my goal is to lose 4% of my body weight...with my weigh in on the 2nd.
  • I try to go by the recommendation of you take your weight, divide it in half and aim for that many ounces. But in reality I normally get about 72 oz a day.

  • I am also at 20 carbs a day, and am aiming for like 1300 calories a day. You have to change the way you eat when you are on Keto. Gotta find the healthy carbs to fit your macros. Good luck!
  • If a calorie deficit isn't working, I would suggest speaking to a doctor about it. There are other types of dieting that can help. For instance, I have heard of Keto doing great things for people with PCOS. And you can definitely find meal plans that are cheaper than this guy. For instance, Emeals gives you a years worth…
  • I am doing keto, under the supervision of a doctor, and i have lost 26 pounds in 7 weeks. I am still mindful of calories, but also paying attention to macros. I am also staying at 20 g of carbs per day. If you don’t count calories or your other macros, and only look at carbs, you are of course going to gain weight. My…
  • I once read somewhere that the first 10-15 lbs you lose will help you fit into your current clothes more comfortably, because a lot of us wear clothes that might be too small. I started at 240ish and was wearing a size 20 and XL clothing. I am now at 217 and I think I can comfortably squeeze into an 18 and my XL tops are…
  • I tried starting keto back in October, but then the holidays happened. So I started in earnest on New Year's. I started out at 31 carbs a day, but for the last month I have been doing 20 carbs. I also used to do 110-130 grams of protein a day, but my doctor said I should be closer to 50-60 grams. However, I find that I am…
  • Kind of hijacking this thread... I know with calories in/out, when you exercised you could eat back some or all of your "burn" calories. However, I am not sure what the practice is with carbs? Do you "earn back" some carbs with exercise? Or do you just follow the calories burned and not eat any additional carbs? I hope…
  • I completely agree with the above posters about HappySale. I weigh myself every day, and I used to only track losses. But then I would be frustrated all day if I saw a gain that morning. HappyScales has helped me to know that is a normal part of the process and I can be happy no matter what numbers show up. It also helps…
  • I have read elsewhere that if you're working out a lot, you could be gaining muscle and so while the scale may not be moving, you are probably still losing fat. Also, make sure you're not going too much over on your proteins. I find that if I go over on those I will lose less or even gain a bit.
  • The first few days are the hardest! When I took a break over the holidays and tried again, I wanted aaaaallll the carbs that first week. But if you can get through this patch, your cravings for carbs will go way way down. Drink bone broth or chew gum. I also do chores when I get hungry, I think more about how much I hate…
  • I am also excited to keep track on here! Good luck everyone  January 31st February 4th February 11th February 18th February 25th
  • I am actually working with a doctor and nurse practitioner who specialize in weight loss on the Keto WOE. They help track your progress and give a lot of support. What I love is they don't give rules, just guidance and information. They also say that everyone's ratios are going to be different, so try what works and if it…
  • Just started again this month! Excited :D!!!
  • I think moving yourself to sedentary would be very helpful. And then you can log your activity of steps and work outs and eat back those exercise calories. Also, with little to lose it can be harder to make the scale move. And I agree with Roxie, getting a food scale can help you be more accurate on what you are eating.…
