  • I'm 44 from the UK, 200+ is an understatement but I've lost half a stone so far. My aim is to just log and stay under target and accept whatever weight loss that gives me cause I know I get obsessed by the pounds and lose motivation when they don't do what I expect. I've got a long journey ahead of me.
  • I'm in the uk, worlds apart but so much in common. Feel free to add me. Anyone, everyone.
  • I know Dem, lol :D
  • nobody loves me :'(
  • Thank you to everyone who posted advise to support me, I don't understand about metabolism and calories would obviously not be my specialist subject on mastermind. I'm very new to this and I am still learning which is why I needed advice. I'm becoming increasing frustrated that the genuine people are being over shone by…
  • Hi there, I've got considerably more to loose then you but I know you pain as I too am very successful at failing on my diets. You know what I like most about MFP, it's not a diet. I've been doing this for 3 weeks now and I don't actually feel any different than before I just have a greater understanding of the calories I…
  • When you are on the Community tab, like you are now, you'll see an option at the top "find members" you can search using username.
  • I've had a pair of jeans 2 sizes too small for about 3 years now and they are my first motivational step so I will never get rid of those. In saying that, my mum bought me a dress many years ago, it was a size 18 and I was a size 22 at the time and she offered to take it and change it but I didn't want her too as I wanted…
  • Wow Del, welcome to MFP. You sound like you have your head screwed on and you've come to the right place to "do it right". It's not about running yourself ragged with the latest fitness craze or eating the minimum, it's about understanding what you are eating and being true to yourself. I have a 14 year old daughter who…
  • I'm on 1540 and I've had Chinese takeaway tonight, the right food and the right portions.
  • My name is Liz and I'm a comfort eater. I also suffer with depression although I am very fortunate to have this under control for able 4 years now. I'm 38 so I'm starting to get the idea I may be having hormone difficulties myself but I've dealt with everything else that has come my way so I'm sure I'll cope with that…
  • Hi Ariane, welcome to MFP. You made a good decision in joining here and there is lots of support for you. I joined MFP about 3 weeks ago and initially started at 304 lbs. You don't say how old you are but I'm guess not very old. I'm 38 and like you have always struggled with my weight but this plan has been one of the best…
  • well you've made the first step. Welcome to MFP. Don't know how much 76 Kilos is but I'm at 304 lbs. If I could give any advise it would be eat smaller portions, deny yourself nothing, plan ahead (if you can) don't stress.
  • Hi Toni, welcome to MFP. You sound like you're a very active lady and I hope you shift the extra bit that you want. My advise would be that as long as you eat at a deficit and only eat back up to 75% of the calories earned from the exercise you should see it come down. Doesn't matter whether it low carb or high protein. If…
  • Here here, well said. I've made two general posts since I started, things like "am I supposed to use most of my calories" and an exercise question. Think I got 3 replies to the first and 12 to the second. In between the two I had a full on diva strop about how my husband doesn't understand, oh and everyone wanted a piece…
  • Welcome to MFP. Sent you a request.
  • Hi there, I'm 5'2 and 304 last I weighed, 37 with two children, work a 30 hour week and teach St John Ambulance cadets so life is pretty full. I've not seen many people on here who are looking at the same journey as I am but I suppose they're out there somewhere. Add me if you wish and I'd be happy to help if I can. Don't…
  • I'm sure you've done a lot over the years to cover the fat, we've all done it, are you the loud fat person, the funny fat person, the recluse fat person, the one who makes fat jokes about themselves to show that we like being who we are when the reality is that we're not. As you said we get used to being fat and losing…
  • Welcome to MFP, only three weeks in myself. Add me is you wish
  • Your story really cried out to and so I've come back to your post. I've had a look at your diary to see if I could give you any pointers but you really have only just started. Can I first ask, who set your calorie intake only I'm 304 lbs and 5'2 and my allowance is 1540 per day so I'd be really worried about dropping to…
  • I agree with Corey, no stress, no pressure. find out what you do eat and go from there. If you go in all guns a blazing burn yourself out and you'll quit at the first hurdle. Been there done that. I've sent you a friend request, I'd like to see how you get on and I'm happy to share ideas.
  • Very similar to me, Kendra. I'm 37, 5'2 304lbs and my kids are 14 and 9 (only two of them) I'm been on here nearly 3 weeks and still haven't had the courage to add a photo. My advice would be weigh everything, better than measuring in cups. Count everything, did you know that even Thyme as calories!!!! No neither did I.…
  • Yum, Cheese burger and chips!!!!!
  • 180 lb to loose and hate exercise with a passion, Lol. I'm here for the calories. Add me if you wish
  • Feel your pain, haven't had the courage to put a photo up yet. 180lb to loose. Add me if you wish
  • Lots of very valid advise, some a little critical and blunt but I just want to give you a hug and say I feel your pain. Try some of the advise given and I hope it works for you. Add me as a friend if you wish. Got 180 ish lb to loose so I'm going to be here a long time.
  • I don't think people really understand. Yes there was probably a time that I would have said I was addicted to food, I'm not, but that because I'm getting to know what food means to me. I have become aware over the years that "I would rather.......!, eat chocolate than go for a walk, take the lift than the stairs. That…
  • My husband had a triple heart bypass at the age of 47, when they checked his heart he had two arteries fully blocked and 1 partial and they said it had been like that for a good while as the arteries had already started trying to make new veins to maintain the supply to his heart. I sat there and thought.... I've got 8…
