Logging every day. It keeps me honest.

This! This article about motivational interviewing! I take care of an adult son with serious mental illness and it has been a Years-long struggle to try to influence him to take positive steps toward getting better. I read the book and practice this technique with him. Alternatively/additionally as someone suggested you…

I use a vanilla one and add 2 tsp of unsweetened cocoa and a natural flaxseed and fibre supplement. Sometimes I add a banana or PB. I have trouble eating enough protein as well - and this satisfies my sweet tooth.

Rainy here today. My son nagged me to go jogging. I was going to skip it. We went and I finished week 4 of C25K. We are seeing relatives tonight. Pre planning my one slice of pizza and glass of wine. I'll have a light lunch to fit it all in. Thanks for reminding me about pre, planning, Bri.

My favourite quote is from Carlos Gracie (one of the founding family of Brazilian Jui Jitsu) "There is no losing in jui jitsu, you either win or you learn."[/quote] This is awesome! It's exactly the way I think but I've never really put it into words!

That's right Matt! This group knows what's up!

Haha I know! Sometimes I even SMILE while I'm running! I run super slow but try to get the 180 step cadence also. It makes me feel lighter on my feet. Great job everyone! Keep at it! I just did W4D2. I'm a little behind my schedule due to a back spasm earlier in the week and my perfectionist tendencies are trying to be OK…

I went a little over in calories today. Then I got the ice cream out and was going to eat out of the carton and eat a lot. Instead I measured it into a bowl and just ate 1/4 cup. I let myself have it without guilt and sitting comfortably on the sofa even though it was all "over calories." I am so proud that I didn't let an…

This thread is awesome!

@dlm4mom I try to plan those things too. Even if I don't stick to the plan I think it still keeps me aware of my choices. I am even developing plans for fast food places as I go along. For example: At one place i get a cheeseburger and split fries with my son. At another place I get the chili. It becomes my routine. We had…

@Hannahlosing I just did W4D1 today. I thought it felt great too! @summerdaze120 way to listen to your body! You'll be stronger for having waited I'll bet. I had a back spasm for two days but I am now getting back into it. Going carefully! @tasch79 I go really slow. I am 50# overweight and slow and steady had always been…

I log everyday as well: whether I stay under or go over my calorie target - its all good information! I also average my calories for the week and it helps me explain any weight loss or lack of weight loss. My exercise is pretty consistent week to week now - staying under my calorie limit is my current and very well-defined…

This week I managed to get my three strength sessions in and 2 of 3 planned cardio sessions before my back spasmed. I should be able to get back by Monday, maybe tomorrow. My goal for this challenge was to stay under calories which I did 3 out of 7 days. This is an improvement over last week so I'll take it. Things are…

I log everything too - even when I blow it. It's all good information! I certainly know what my maintenance calories are right now! I'm going out tonight too. And I have a back spasm so no exercise for a few days. My plan is to eat 1/3 and bring the rest home. I have friend who keeps an insulated cooler and plastic…

Today I am doing bodyweight exercises. I have been really sticking to my exercise plan. I alternate bodyweight strength days with C25K days. I am a 53 year old woman who never weight trained before. I am really proud of myself for taking on this life challenge to make myself stronger and more fit.

Opposites! I feel bad up until about the 2 min mark then i get in the groove.
-
I'm in. One daily goal for three weeks: stay within my calorie limit.

Welcome to all the newer ppl. I am only just starting week 3 myself. I am 40# overweight but the jogging isn't too bad yet. I use the C25K app on my phone. I go outside no matter the temp. I live in New York state. I don't have a gym and I LOVE running outside. I go super slow but really concentrate on good form. I've read…

True! I was thinking, "all right! I can't wait to get THERE!" Good luck with your journey.

Don't give up! Every time something doesn't work is INFORMATION! "Well that's not the way I'm going to get it done." Regroup and make a new plan. You've got this!

You can find good links in mfp by going to the group "eat more 2 weigh less"

Had a little unscheduled break but today I did W2D2. Fun!

Day 5 1. Over cals.... A lot! :-( 2. Exercised  Day 6 1. Felt like I didn't east too too much but at mom's. Unable to actually measure. Tried to eyeball it. 2. 2 mile walk. Thanks for posting this challenge.. It helped my priorities on some tough days. Although I am sure I wasn't in deficit, I am also sure I would…
