Fitbit, much like GoPro did a great job with marketting and are the first name on most peoples lips. before you buy a fitbit though google for the failure rate, i had 4 surges, and a charge HR, all had faulty straps. i now use the tomtom Adventurer. a far better fitness watch in every way

to be honest. i worked my *kitten* of this summer. rode 2 or 3 hours of mountain bike every day. dropped my calories to 1300 and had a calorie deficit every day. i lose 38lbs in 6 months. it can be done. but be prepared to work for it

Tomtom spark cardio or Tomtom adventurer

cico deficit you will lose weight cico deficit + excercise you will lose weight and get fitter. one is weight loss. one is weight loss + fitness and health.
-
your likely to find most exercise quite difficult to begin with so focus on cico. aim for a deficit, and dont ever comfort eat if your feeling down.
-
your mfp activity level does not inc any excersise. that is on top of your daily activity. on an average day do you have a sedentary job? or a physical one?
-
as long as it fits your calorie goals its cool
-
if it helps the OP in dont exercise. i ride my bike. thats fun. the excercise is a benefit of the fun
-
i have done. dated 80lbs ladies as well. weight bears no connection to coolness.
-

the answer to one of your questions is NO there is no such thing as starvation mode

What do you currently do with your evenings? i have never been inside a gym.. i cycle. i walk, i run. all can be done from my front door.
-
probably at least 50% of people. CICO is ALL that matters for just weight loss
-
less calories than you burn = weight loss less calories than you burn including excersise = weigth loss + health.
-

i am a 5 foot 4 tall man athletic frame and am 140lbs with 10%bf. i am aiming for 138lbs. so only 2lbs to drop. my aim at 138 is to work next on the 6pack

winter will reduce my excersise level as my main outlet is mountain biking
-
i worked on not needing any "cheat days" i changed my diet, i think by volume i now eat a lot more than i did, so my belly feels full when i want it to feel that way. but i now eat healthier and lower fat/cal my biggest issue over summer has actually been getting enough calories in after a hard days excersise. i was eating…

2500cal through excersise is real hard work, for eg its about 5 hours on a mountain bike. My hardest day this summer was around 5200Cal burnt through excersise but i was on a bike ALL day long

i keep changing my target weight. have just decided to aim for 2 more pounds drop. and then ar 9 stone 12, i am stopping. 100% maintenance from then on. My target was 146lbs, which took my bmi to 24.9 and declared me to be or a "healthy" weight. i hit that, decided i quite liked what i saw in the mirror and set a new vanity target of 138. i am 2lbs off that target now, and finding it harder than dropping down to my original target. i am not a very vain person, so aiming…

much like EVERYONE has hear of GoPro yet they are in no way the best on the market. and everyone has heard of a hoover, yet other makes are better. fitbit and garmin are the ones people hear about, there are way better on the market. the Tomtom just happens to be one of those better options.
