  • Yep it’s all about food and training your body. Pay super close attention to everything you eat the day before a *ahem* code brown and look for commonalities. (Dairy, spicy food, extra cheese, not enough protein) whatever the pattern is avoid it before a long run. Then change NOTHING before your racer. Seriously don’t…
  • These are all great suggestions. Squats can be subtle at your desk. Plant your feet shoulder width apart and raise yourself off your chair a few inches but keep your back and shoulders straight. Once you get the technique you can squat and type or squat and answer calls without leaving your desk. How far away do you work?…
  • 10,000 steps is about 4.75 miles. It isn’t going to happen by accident at a desk job. I worked a desk job for a while and had to be very deliberate about taking steps. I would pace my office as I read reports (you can print emails and pace while you read those too as long as you don’t have print limits) I would walk longer…
  • That’s an amazing difference!! I thought my town had weather mood swings but nothing like that! Haha congrats on a good run!
  • Following because I'm interested. Has anyone had any long term success with keto? Looks like a gimmick to me. The friends that I have who try it are yoyoing their weight loss and can't seem to keep it off once they get off the diet. I don't want to maintain a diet for the rest of my life so I just count calories, have…
  • I'm in! I love this app and am stoked to be running with Runner 8 she's the best!
  • Every single runner is differnt and everyone trains differently. Some people don't like to eat/drink on long runs and others like a snack every mile on the mile. However we also have different definitions of a long run. When I first started a 5k was my long run and I would want water half way through. Now my distance is…
  • And so it begins... haha You get the first 4 missions for free then one a week for free. If you want to unlock more than that you will have to pay. I started most of the first season with just one a week, but got so interested in the story I ended up upgrading. I am not a zombie fan but I am a fan of this story. I hope you…
  • Welcome runner 5! Your story is basically all of our story. Apparently the best C25k program is shooting someone out of a helicopter and then forcing them into one B.A. Dire situation after another. Lol. I'm a huge fan of the app, have fun with it I promise your cardio days will no longer be dull.
  • Haha I'm glad :) It is fun to slowly build to a run but it does sound like it would be best to wait until spring where you are at. If you slip on ice the Zoms will get you ;)
  • Hey runner 5!! I am a huge fan of this app. It is worth the price of premium money is very tight for me. I honestly budget down to the dollar each paycheck and barely make ends meet but I have never regretted a dime spent on ZR. It took me from a couch potato who though walking a mile was a torturous task to now I can run…
  • @kenyonhaff as long as you are faster than a slow shamble we can use you! Keep it up and before you know it you will be faster than anyone in Able and all the villains you may face outside Able. ;) @R_LM_G how did the race go? I ran it on Saturday and got a PR but I'm going to run it again this Saturday too! Stay safe out…
  • Stop completely for a little while. Give yourself a chance to heal or you will seriously injur yourself. Bike and swim for a couple weeks but let your body recover.
  • Thank you guys this is actually really inspiring :) I love to see the improvement and hear your different stories. I ran it just to see if I could and now that I know I can I'm thinking of signing up for an official race. Keep Running!
  • It depends on what your goals are. Do you want to go back to racing? Then begin training for races and don't worry about the time as much as the distance. Do you want to run for weight loss? Then don't feel bound by distance and instead focus on continuously running for a set amount of time. That time will depend on where…
  • Thank you guys! These are great ideas. This morning the power came back on at anytime fitness and so they opened themselves up to be free to the community!! They didn't have hot water but they offered their showers to evacuees and offered yoga classes and free run of the gym for the community. I was able to get my…
  • Hey there runner 5! Stay safe out there :) are you in the Halloween mission?
  • What do you listen to as you run? A lot of running is mental and if you are bored you will feel more tired. I know a lot of people listen to their favorite music or audio books to keep them entertained. I use the Zombies Run! App to give me a story and some ... unusual motivators to stay running. Once you convince your…
  • THATS SO COOL!!! They did such a good job on those! I love the darker red color too. Seriously amazing. Have fun representing Able in style!
  • Ah man MFP cut off the last part of my reply haha can u post a picture of the shirt? I didn't order one and regretted it as soon as I placed my order but there was nothing to be done to change it haha oh well now I know for next time but I would love to see pictures of how they came out!
  • Congrats!!! It's so exciting! I still have yet to receive my race pack
  • I did allergy shots for 7 years and honestly can't go very long without taking medication or I start sneezing like crazy and my eyes swell shut. Lol not the best conditions for running. However, I am an avid runner. I would never want to give it up for allergies. Whatever helps you keep them in check on a daily basis do…
  • Not yet! I'm dying to get mine. What about you?
  • Movie soundtracks and scores the epic music makes me feel way more accomplished than just a gym session
  • Thank you guys! I will try out some inserts I appreciate your advice! I also picked up some better socks I hadn't been using runner socks.
  • I had old shoes and didn't slow down my running training plan when I was where you are now. Believe me it can get much worse. I carried on and kept my same pace/frequency and ended up going from minor discomfort that would go away by the next morning to injured and unable to run at all for weeks. I know training is fun and…
  • I attend a weekly trampoline fitness class and I have some bomb legs! Have fun with it. Burpees will become so much harder because of the extra balance needed and squat jumps will provide a great burn. Even just jumping on one leg for a minute then switching legs will get your calves going strong. Have fun :)
  • Congratulations on your discipline. What is your ultimate goal?
  • Chicken and beans that's the start of tacos do you have tortillas or chips? Chicken roasted wth salt pepper and other spices you like/have served with mashed potatoes and pour gravy over the whole mess and presto! Food Diced chicken cooked in salt pepper and any kind of oil sautéed in a pan. Separate pot make ramen noodles…

  • I work a desk job and am taking 10 units of class. That's a lot of time sitting in a beige room at a desk. Running is the only time I am free. If running is what you enjoy and makes you happy then run until your heart is content! (Except maybe listen to your body too I tried to ignore my legs when they said slow down... it…
