  • Hi Denise and Pahky! I’m in a similar boat (mid 5ft, 300+), and I’m starting back up again after the pandemic. Was doing good before the pandemic, but gained so much weight and stopped exercising and over 300 again. Would love some new friends going through the similar struggles of trying to lose weight/get healthy.
  • Yesterday, I broke my step record for a day. 37k! Really feels like a victory because I don’t feel super terrible the next day or have blisters. A year ago, if I even walked 20k steps, I’d barely be able to move the next day and generally have blisters. Now I do about 17k steps on most days (including exercise steps). This…
  • @magnusthenerd That’s really awful :( that bothers me too!! I’ve lost some weight the past few months and a provider mentioned that I was losing weight to prepare for weight loss surgery, I was like umm no I’m exercising a lot, I’m not interested in bariatric surgery. Wtf? Not saying bariatric surgery isn’t a good option…
  • 3rd month with UAC (joined Nov 2019). I’ve found the accountability, feedback, and other’s experiences motivating!!! Really looking forward to starting 2020 with a plan in place. Losing weight has been on my resolution list forever, but this coming year doesn’t feel as daunting due to changes I made in 2019. I lost ~50 lbs…
  • Loved reading everyone’s goals and progress, it’s so inspiring!! Here’s my short (within a year) and long term goals: ***2020 goals*** - Weigh less than 180 lbs / be in overweight BMI vs obese (due to reduced health risk and confidence) - Attend 2 group fitness class per month starting in July. - Bench more than 110 lbs.…
  • Dec 22: Exercise >20 minutes: Yes. 215 mins easy hike. Didn’t make 10 miles as planned (did 9.4mi) but big plans to do just over 10 on Xmas when it’s a bit warmer!! I’m definitely okay with being under my planned miles-got really cold!! I love hiking those trails, they’re sandy and low impact, so can hike longer, yay!…

  • Dec 21: Exercise >20 minutes: Yes. 60 minutes elliptical. 50 mins boxing/core class. Within kcal (<1800): Yes. 1732 kcal. Track everything: Yes. I tried a group class today and it was a pretty awful experience and defeating. I thought it was going to be primarily boxing, but it ended up being more than 50% core/low back…

  • @FitByFifty1970 that’s rough!! Certainly there’s a lot of positives to losing weight, but clothing is definitely a barrier! I’m kinda in the same boat, I went to a meeting recently and just grabbed my favorite suit jacket. I didn’t put it on until right before the meeting (had a dress on). I was so embarrassed when I put…
  • Dec 20: Exercise >20 minutes: Yes. 90 minutes elliptical. 70 mins weights. Within kcal (<1800): Yes. 1254 kcal. Track everything: Yes. Had a rough day yesterday, procrastinated working out all day, and finally did it at 9pm. Ugh. So I slept in this morning (until 7 instead of 330a) and it was awesome!! Felt great to…

  • This is my first round, but plan to attend future rounds and keep a running tally rounds and SW/EW like many of you. It’s so interesting to see the trends and how a little can add up to a lot over the weeks :) 38/F OSW: 316 (Nov 2018) OGW: <150 Round 99: Goal 255.8 Day - Weight - Comment 12/19 - 259.7 - 12/20 - 12/21 -…
  • Went to dr today had a 10 point drop in my BMI since same time last year. Yay!!! So happy to see a significant number which I know is reflective of the changes I made this year. I still have over 100 lbs to go to be out of the obese/overweight range, but know continued activity will get me closer to where I want to be.…
  • Dec 18: Exercise >20 minutes: Yes. 45 minutes elliptical. 30 mins boxing. 25 mins weights. Within kcal (<1800): Yes. 1194 kcal. Track everything: Yes Went to the dr today and got the # I was looking for :) Since the same time last year my BMI is 10 points down and I’m over 50 lbs down. Yay!!! Still a long way to go, but a…
  • @NovusDies Me too!! I checked with someone else that recently (October) got an Apple Watch, and she said her December challenge was already completed and it was to complete all 3 circles 1 time. Interesting :) For me, I know my biggest opportunity to be active, due to lower work hours, is December/January so I increased…
  • @amkita I think that’s wonderful!!! Congrats!! Also really like your approach/attitude to the final weeks of the year. I had a similar situation happen this week, different number, but same concept. 9.9 on the scale versus 0.0 just made me feel happy to be closer the end goal, albeit only 0.1 lbs, haha.
  • Dec 17: Exercise >20 minutes: Yes. 120 minutes elliptical. Within kcal (<1800): Yes. 1167 kcal. A little low, but have to fast for an appt tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing if any stats changed, other than weight loss (which is good too of course :) ) Track everything: Yes
  • Plan to join this round. I've seen this thread before but every time its almost over! looking forward to ending the year with a challenge!!
  • @NovusDies that’s really interesting your December challenge is 25 days. Mine says “close all 3 rings 31 times and you’ll earn this award”. I thought everyone’s was the same, learned something new 😀thank you!!! So far so good for me too (16 days now). I find the rings to be motivating, and I too keep going if past.…
  • @fitqueenbess thank you!! I must admit though, I did extra cardio the past couple days because I have a dr appt. on Wednesday, so hoping to lose an extra lb or so my BMI is 9 points (or more) less than same time last year... we’ll see, haha. Either way, will be okay since it’s less :)
  • Dec 16: Exercise >20 minutes: Yes. 90 minutes elliptical. 60 mins weights. 120 mins easy hike. Within kcal (<1800): Yes. 1327 kcal. Track everything: Yes
  • @jlucas210 Wow! That’s amazing to have such a big change in BP and resulting change in meds. Congrats!! Good luck on the cholesterol!! I’m going for a routine visit on Wed and will be interested to see if my cholesterol or BP changed since losing weight. Hoping to see at least a HDL increase :) Regardless, I’m going to…

  • @maiomaio71 that’s awesome!!! Congrats 🎉 Three sizes is an amazing difference, way to go!! I was thinking something similar today - how can I lose 50 lbs and still be wearing the same size?!?! They do fit better though, but like you said, takes a while to notice a difference. Your post is inspiring!!
  • I’d love to join!! I have T1D (20+ years). I never heard that stat before but it’s a great motivator!!
  • Dec 14: Exercise >20 minutes: Yes. 125 minutes elliptical. Within kcal (<1800): No. 1835 kcal. Track everything: Yes Not sure why, but was super hungry today, so using my first pass day. Got more steps (21k) than usually so makes feel a little better about eating so much, oh well, it’s just one day :)
  • @bold_rabbit Here’s a screenshot of last month toward the end. Was about the same mid-month too. So I’d say it’s pretty normal, but this is only my second month :)
  • @Lilutz thanks for the encouragement!! Appreciate it! My trainer just quit so I’m looking for a new workout plan, so maybe I’ll give it a try this month. I’m scared because of my size (BMI is in 40s), and being completely out of sync with the pace and/or individuals in there. I know no one really cares in there what I look…
