Just remember as you weigh day to day, you will see your weight go up and down. Weight loss isn't linear, so you could see anywhere between 2-5lb shifts on a daily basis. But over time, as long as you are in a calorie deficit, you will see the downward trend as you continue to record on here. So, no one get discouraged by…

25lbs over the course of 8 months. Slow and steady wins the race as they say.

Oh wow! A gym challenge? Now I'm beginning to understand a bit better... Yikes, well - good luck to you. I find recommendations from the gym very sketchy at best. Their word (or mine for that matter ) is not gospel. I'll be honest though, if I was cutting my carbs to that severe extend and exercising as much as you are,…

Is there a specific reason you're keeping your carbs low? Depending on the types of exercising you are doing, could require a fair amount of energy replenishment. Especially, given the fact you are stating that you are exercising twice a day, 5 days a week and 6 times a week in total? (If I'm reading that correctly?)

Yes! My family still resides in Florida, so I have been back within the past few years. It's definitely a lot different. So much growth, and I thought it was already a packed place when I lived there.

I stopped making excuses for myself. Gave myself a reality check and made a commitment to change my habits over time. Motivation only goes so far; you have to treat that like a "honeymoon" phase, understanding it will wear off; and then the real work begins. I had to be resolved in my decision to make the changes I wanted…

I'm really into zucchini. Zucchini in everything  With eggs? Yup. Spiralize as pasta? Yup. Veggie lasagna? Yup. Zucchini chips? Double yup! I'll get bored and move on eventually, but right now I'm having fun with all the different avenues I can take.

If I'm running a very easy run, and it's going smoothly - I can typically breath in through my nose and out through my mouth without paying attention. However, I mostly run breathing in and exhaling out through my mouth. Haven't had any kind of problems with it.

HAHA. Accurate. Dang it! I should have taken my opportunity to complain a bit.

GO GATORS! I went high school and college in Gainesville. Always the place I call home. Well, *cough* I love running LOL, but I also really enjoy switching things up and swimming is also very enjoyable. Rock climbing too. Though there are days when I'm running I'm think, "WTF did I decide to do this to myself?"…

No. You gain weight when you eat more than your body burns. If you are eating less then your body burns (ie: calorie deficit), you will continue to lose weight.

You got this! Welcome to the forums. :)

Snackable dough. The whole bag would be gone if I got ahold of this.

I saw the date on the thread and nearly choked on my drink from laughter. This is one of the oldest I've seen resurrected. I think the oldest one I've seen pop up has been 2004? Can't remember the title though.

Fair enough! I should have written that it was personal preference. Apologies, as I had also written in my first post that it would also be fine to eat protein outside what I had suggested and still recover post workout. I’ll be more careful with how I should clarify my intentions.
-
Agree with @lorrpb. General rule of thumb is to get protein into your system within 30 - 45 minutes after you've completed your workout for the best recovery. Granted....yes, of course you can take in protein a bit later outside the window and you'll recover fine, but technically speaking, your muscle recovery will benefit…

QFT.

I typically workout fasted in the mornings and then eat post run. Only on the weekend, when I'm doing a long run, will I eat something prior to working out.
-
To clarify, when discussing "eating back calories" - we are talking about exercise calories. MFP was designed to provide you a deficit prior to any exercise; therefore the calories you've expended during exercise need to be replaced in order to keep you properly fueled. Sometimes, that comes in the amount of eating all…

Fitness is not always about going to the gym. It's finding the right exercise that you want to do. Nobody wants to workout doing something they don't enjoy. I mean...sometimes it feels unenjoyable, but that's because we're pushing ourselves to become better...so it seems like torture lol. Anyways, find an activity you…

Yes, as others have said above, totally normal. My RHR resides in the mid to upper 40s. My initial RHR was closer to the 60s when I decided to start consistently running. I saw a significant drop over the course of a year's time...a little less.

QFT. All of this. Very important.

@janejellyroll How’s the running going? Did I read, you had a marathon in February? How’d that go? 😊
-
Increase VO2 Max.

1 mile warm-up + 2 miles @ marathon pace + 1 mile cool down. The weekend is creeping up much more quickly than anticipated! :astonished:

Sprinting there for sure.

RE: Halo Top - I just found out there's a Halo Top ice cream parlor less than 6 miles from me. An ICE CREAM SHOP! LOL. Where have I been? They make sundaes and everything..... I didn't even know that was a thing with them!

Rest day. Getting antsy with tapering this week. Marathon is only 5 short days away!
