  • I am looking for similar information. What do you use to tell you the bpm of music you have in your library? I was using the DJ Beatsmith (i think that is right, but I am too lazy to look it up) C25K and I get so blanked out by techno I miss the cues to speed up/slow down. >.<
  • I did not read you that way at all! Who can think badly about someone excited for their college lectures! Slightly off-topic but had to be said: When Ron Swanson eats, it is the food that is scared.
  • I have not had very long hair in ages, but I usually have layers, so I feel that pain! What has worked for me without taking up too much time (function over fuss, please) is to wear a bandanna or kerchief of some sort, retro housewife style. It keeps the shorter strands and hairline wisps down and has a convenient hole for…
  • I noticed some additional wonkiness in my cycles when I started exercising and eating better, too. To be fair to my ovaries, most of my wonkiness is perceived because I often forget that 28 days only equals a month once a year and forget to minus 2 or 3 when I consider when the crimson tide is due back again. I had heard…
  • I just popped over to the Atkins site to calculate myself and found a recommended protein intake of .7 grams/lb according to "conventional wisdom" which for you would be approximately 88 grams instead of 44. I then went to the University of Maryland whose calculator does not use weight (age, frame size, height, activity…
  • Naw, you'll get cancer from Nutrasweet (aspartame). Splenda is sucralose which means you just get diarrhea. Me, I love my dairy. Full fat, please. This morning I ate a half cup of ricotta for breakfast and I was so satisfied I nearly forgot to eat something for lunch. (I made it myself. Yes, I am bragging.)
  • Costco makes an organic salt free seasoning blend (copper lid) that is a delicious additive to turkey burgers and lots of other bland meats (tilapia, I am looking at you). Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute is identical or nearly enough I cannot distinguish between them. Also it is a much smaller jar if you want to try…
  • I am in awe of kiwiburger's pumpkin skills. I have a sudden intense urge to call a realtor and move to your neighborhood. Christmas has been a huge disappointment to me since we moved to Nevada, but in Nevada you always get an extra day off at Halloween. WOOT! We have always loved Halloween, and now since Christmas is such…
  • Hehe! My own milestone is that I wore my wedding ring all day yesterday and slept in it without my finger swelling up. My mother offered to pay to have it resized larger (lol she is embarrassed I go about with a nakey finger - does she think I am trying to pick up guys???) but I told her it would be better to resize…
  • HAHA exactly, yes. I understand that the shorts get in the way when the OP is teaching his class, though. Personally, as long as I can't tell at a glance whether a fella is circumcised then his pants are not offensively tight.
  • Who says you have to clean your plate? Doggy bags FTW!
  • Yes, it functions much like this one. I used it a couple years ago for less than 1 week. The database here is much easier to use. I think perhaps MFP has more users so the food database is a lot more comprehensive and accurate even with all the multiple entries (or in some cases because of them).
  • Jubblies? Thought that was a hooterism.
  • Very much this, including the love for George Brewer's post. And if the stretch marks and scars do not fade (I got a fantastic set at puberty which gave me boobs like giant bloodshot eyeballs at age 15!) then cover them up with tattoos. That's my plan, anyway. Stretch marks at 15, varicose veins at 17, those were bad. The…
  • I am in love with my Enells. NOTHING moves. The kids call them my superhero bras. I never used to think I could run anywhere ever without punching myself in the chin. (Plus I giggle that I wear a size 1 - silly but hey) These bras are the only sports bras I have found that accommodate a small rib cage/massive hooter combo.…
  • This thread has inspired me to start wearing a cup to the gym and grinning at anyone I catch staring at it.
  • LOL None of your friends are trying to conceive. (or they managed it without much effort)
  • If a franchise gym is out of the question (budgets, ick) look into the local parks department. They will sometimes offer classes where your child can be doing one thing while you do something for you, or an inexpensive gym alternative. Also, now that mine are both in school I make it a point to walk them back and forth.…
  • Is it too late to join? I am still watching the doorstep for my scale to show up.
  • Personally I like it, but I think it tastes sort of bitter. The kids HATE it with a violent passion and can detect it in anything. If you are into the Omega-3's I am told that cold milled is better, but that might be a marketing gimmick. I did notice a difference in color between the cold milled style I brought home and…
  • I feel cheated this topic is about food. Ahem, anyway, I make them out of ground turkey and McCormick Schilling seasoning mix on a base of sauteed diced onions and bell peppers or beef shredded by slow cooking it with cumin and oregano in a crock pot. I prefer whole wheat tortillas to crunchy shells. If I am at a Mexican…
  • If you want her so turned on she starts stalking you, go for it.
  • :D Hi, person who sounds like me, nice to meet you. My best friend got me into this site for similar reasons. Having great reasons to get started rocks, it's ignoring those "great" reasons to stop that we can help each other to do.
  • I predict The Guano Diet Primer would hit #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List.
  • I see your avatar lolcat and I raise you this one!
  • I imagine an 18 ounce (standard size) package of oreos. I could probably eat that while watching an episode of Glee. Then I try to imagine eating an 18 ounce steak. That would take real effort and dedication, perhaps the promise of a free t-shirt and my picture on a beefeaters wall of fame or something. While it is often…
  • Meh, I will admit this. I love the workout pants/shorts with a built in crotch, like pantyhose have. So what if fat chicks are not "supposed" to wear spandex. I'm working out. I don't care about being cute or dainty. I care about digging, chafing, bunching, and sliding. Also I care about minimal flab flappage. Note: I…
  • I add steel cut oats to meatballs instead of bread crumbs. (I hate oatmeal.)
  • Yes, spaghetti squash microwaves well but cut it in half first.
  • Turkey Bolognese is a good way to add extra protein, I think, especially when you make it so thick a fork stands up in it. Trader Joe's makes a Low(No?) Sodium jarred marinara that is a quick and easy delicious base for adding ground meats, shredded veg, or enough extra tomato paste to make it thick enough to use as a…
