I'm new to Turkey Burgers!

So far my favorite recipe is Rachael Ray's Turkey Chili-Cheeseburgers. OMG SO DELISH! Otherwise, they are dry and tasteless and I don't like them. I don't know how to season them, really, and I can't eat the same single recipe over and over. ANy suggestions???

Feta-Stuffed Turkey Burgers
A simple yogurt-based sauce and a rich feta-and-spice stuffing makes these turkey burgers stand out above the rest. Pair with sautéed zucchini.

Ingredients
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 pound ground turkey
6 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) crumbled feta cheese
Cooking spray
1/4 cup grated English cucumber
1/4 cup plain fat-free yogurt
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
4 (1/4-inch-thick) slices tomato
4 green leaf lettuce leaves
4 (2-ounce) Kaiser rolls or hamburger buns
Preparation
1. Combine first 6 ingredients. Divide mixture into four portions. Indent center of each portion; place 1 1/2 tablespoons feta into each. Fold turkey mixture around cheese; shape each portion into a 1/2-inch-thick patty.
2. Heat grill pan over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add patties; cook 5 minutes on each side.
3. Combine cucumber, yogurt, and mint in a small bowl. Arrange 1 turkey patty, 1 tomato slice, 1 lettuce leaf, and 2 tablespoons yogurt mixture on bottom half of each roll. Top with top halves of rolls.
Sautéed zucchini: Heat 2 teaspoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 cups sliced zucchini and 2 minced garlic cloves; sauté 5 minutes. Add 2 teaspoons lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper.

Try on toasted potato rolls. Make it a meal with oven-baked French fries and a salad.

Ingredients
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 1/4 pounds ground turkey breast
1/2 cup (2 ounces) crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
Cooking spray
1/4 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
2 tablespoons minced sweet gherkin pickle (about 2 small)
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
12 (1-ounce) dinner rolls
6 curly leaf lettuce leaves, torn in half
Preparation
Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Add cheese, stirring with a fork just until combined. Divide turkey mixture into 12 equal portions, shaping each into a 1/4-inch-thick patty.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add 4 patties; cook 2 minutes. Carefully turn patties over; cook 2 minutes or until done. Place patties on a large baking sheet in a single layer. Repeat procedure with remaining patties. Cool patties to room temperature. Cover with plastic wrap; freeze until firm. Place in a single layer in zip-top plastic bags; freeze up to 3 months.
Thaw patties overnight in refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 400º.
Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray. Place patties on baking sheet in a single layer; cover with foil. Bake 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Keep warm.
Combine mayonnaise, pickle, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl. Cut rolls in half horizontally. Spread about 1 teaspoon mayonnaise mixture on bottom half of each roll; top each with 1 turkey patty and 1 piece lettuce. Cover with tops of rolls. Serve immediately.

Costco makes an organic salt free seasoning blend (copper lid) that is a delicious additive to turkey burgers and lots of other bland meats (tilapia, I am looking at you). Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute is identical or nearly enough I cannot distinguish between them. Also it is a much smaller jar if you want to try before buying the massive Costco jar. I found a similar blend at the 99 cent store, too.
Why limit yourself to turkey burgers?
Try meatballs. Or meatloaf! We don't use breadrumbs, though. Instead we sub milled flax seed, wheat germ, and some sort of whole grain hot cereal up to and including oatmeal. The cereal benefits from the slow cooker treatment, so it soaks up all the flavor from the meat juices and any sauce used. The texture is more interesting than a traditional breadcrumb mix and a little less like eating a lead weight. I end up eating the meatballs without any pasta.0 -

Ingredients:
1.25 lbs 93% lean ground turkey
1 cup zucchini, grated and liquid squeezed out
2 sliced whole wheat bread (I used Weight Watchers)
1/4 cup seasoned whole wheat breadcrumbs
1 large egg
2-3 cloves garlic, grated
1/4 red onion, grated
2 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped (less if using dry)
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
2 tbsp chopped fresh spearmint, chopped
kosher salt and fresh pepper
about 1 tsp worth of olive oil cooking spray (I use my Misto)
Directions:
Wet bread with water, squeezing excess out. Tear into small pieces and place in a large bowl. Combine with turkey, egg, zucchini, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, mint, parsley, oregano, salt and pepper.
Using a 1/4 cup measure, form each meatball 1/4 cup in size. For best results, refrigerate before cooking to help hold their shape.
In a pan: spray olive oil in a large nonstick frying pan and cook over low heat.
On the grill: clean grill well before cooking and spray grate with oil. Cook on low until cooked through. Makes about 17 meatballs.0 -

1 lb extra lean ground turkey
15.5 can black beans, drained
4.5 oz can chopped green chiles
14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1-2 tsp cumin
salt
8 (6-inch) low carb whole wheat flour tortillas
1 cup WW Mexican Style cheese
Nonstick cooking spray
Enchilada Sauce:
2 garlic cloves, minced
1-2 tbsp chipotle chiles in adobo sauce
1-1/2 cups tomato sauce
1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
3/4 cup fat free chicken broth
kosher salt and fresh pepper to taste
In a medium saucepan, spray oil and sauté garlic. Add chiles, chili powder, cumin, chicken broth, tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Set aside until ready to use.
In a large skillet brown the turkey and season with salt. When the turkey is browned, add onion, garlic, black beans, cilantro, green chiles, diced tomatoes, cumin and chili powder. Mix well and simmer on low, covered for 20 minutes. Remove lid and simmer an additional 5-10 minutes to reduce the liquid.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a 13 by 9-inch glass baking dish with non-stick spray. Put 1/2 cup turkey mixture into each tortilla and roll it. Place on baking dish seam side down. Top with enchilada sauce and cheese. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the oven on the middle rack for 20-25 minutes. Top with low fat sour cream, cilantro or scallions if you wish. (Extra points) Makes 8 enchiladas.0 -
Very similar to one of the recipes above, but these burgers, also from Rachel Ray are AWESOME! You don't need the topping, but it's good if you want to spend the calories.

I just take 93/7 ground turkey and make burgers out of them with just a little season salt and Onion powder. Key is to not over cook them if you over cook them they will be very dry and Blah. you will get the hang of it, it just take a little practice. I just put a slice of 2% cheese on top when almost done and they are great. But like I said if you over cook them say good bye to flavor town and hello to Death Valley dryness.0

My husband and I eat turkey burgers all the time, sometimes adding chili powder or any other series of spices to the meat. Another thing we love to do with ground turkey is to make meatloaf:
1 lb turkey
1 egg
1/2 diced onion
3/4 c milk
1 c breadcrumbs
2 T brown sugar
2 T mustard
1/3 c ketchup
Mix everything together, put into a greased loaf pan, and bake at 350 degrees for an hour. I make another version that adds an entire packet of taco seasoning to make it taste like a burrito in loaf form!0 -

I'll tell you the first time I had a turkey burger it tasted like cardboard....BUT it was years ago, and I'm a spoiled Midwest grain-fed beef eating girl at heart, that was raised in the gravy loading, deep fried, sweet-tea drinking South. Needless to say, now I'm here and serious about losing weight I thought I'd try them again for the first time tonight and was quite impressed
I just sauteed up some yellow onions first, then took 93/7 lean ground turkey patties and sauteed them in the leftover onion flavored olive oil, added a little Salt-Free Cavender's Greek Seasoning and a splash of low-sodium Dale's Marinade in the pan until they were done, then put them on Whole Wheat sandwich thins with the sauteed onions, fresh spinach, and a little horshradish cream sauce, and they were quite tasty!0 -

I used the 97% ground turkey meat, chopped onion and green peppers a few cloves of chopped garlic, and pepper, make them into patties. Put alittle olive oil or spray a frying pan with pam. Brown burgers on both sides then I add fat free canned beef gravy and simmer for around ten minutes.. I love to make them and have the mashed cauliflower as a side, putting alittle of the gravy on top and its just like having mashed potatoes and gravy yummmmm..and have to say my hubby is real burger man and he loves theses..0

I bought some frozen turkey burgers and didn't like them as a substitue for a real steak burger so I put some Ken's Buffalo wing sauce on it and turned it into a buffalo burger instead.0

I make turkey patties (you could eat them as a burger if you wish) that I usually serve with quinoa and salad. These are easy and DELISH!
20 oz pkg 93/7 Jennie-O ground turkey
1 egg
1/3 cup bread crumbs (I use contadina Italian)
2 TBSP Soy Sauce
1 TBSP Lemon juice
2 TBSP sliced scallions (I probably double this).
Spray frying pan liberally with Pam non-stick spray. Mix all ingredients together; divide and make 8 patties. Cook over medium heat, about 4 minutes each side, until done. Do not overcook, as this will make them dry... but make sure they are cooked through.
