  • Please don't be discouraged for not having lost anything yet, you've only given your body 7 days to get used to the new things you're introducing to it. This is a lifestyle change for you. It is not about starving yourself thin or exercising every day until you see results. If it is about that, then you'll easily get tired…
  • You are awesome!!! You are so worth it and then some! Congrats to you and thanks for sharing your story:heart:
  • Drink LOTS and LOTS of WATER...I started drinking like there was no tomorrow and lost 4 lbs over night:smile:
  • First, congratulations for finding this site. Second, you obviously want to do this because you've found this site. Now, the motivation comes from you. You have to want to do this for yourself. You have to want to feel better...healthier...thinner....for you! This site offers GREAT support and advice, but only you can stay…
  • We have a Sole model as well. We've had it about 4 yrs and my husband trains for marathons on it, so it had to be a good one. I love it!
  • I thought I was done losing my chest and stopped measuring because I didn't think it could get any smaller and found out this morning that I lost another 1/2 inch....it's not budging from my belly though...very frustrating, but not discouraging, LOL
  • I, too, had a problem with too much protein and thought I'd look into it myself, here's what I found in an article on Wikipedia called "Protein in Nutrition": According to the recently updated Dietary Reference Intake guidelines, women aged 19–70 need to consume 46 grams of protein per day, while men aged 19–70 need to…

  • I agree with BROOKEFOLEY. If 1200 cals leaves you feeling hungry, up the calories so you're losing weight at a slower pace. This shouldn't be all about dieting but creating a new, healthy lifestyle that will help you lose and maintain your weight. Hope this helps:heart:
  • Woo hoo! That's what it's all about...keep at it:smile:
  • I had this same problem and found out that if you eat too much protein your body isn't getting enough calcium, so I try to replace my "extra" protein with higher calcium foods. It's all about a balanced diet and learning how to eat. I added calcium to my food categories so I make sure I'm getting enough of all of my…
  • If it's fat you're trying to lose, it's all about what kinds of food your eating to make up your calories duirng the day. Your diet must be BALANCED to see results. If you are eating too many carbs, protein, etc your body will store it as FAT. Make sure you keep your metabolism up by eating 5-6 small meals throughout the…
  • I've discovered the physioball. I got a 3-in-1 from Costco ($22.99 *in Illinois) It comes with a book of exercises, including seated cardio workouts and stretching exercises, a stretch band, a web for the ball for various other exercises, the ball itself and a DVD. There is so much I can do with this small investment that…
  • Well said:heart:
  • I've been there! The scale plateaued for 5 weeks, but I lost 5-6 inches overall. If it weren't for the weekly measurements I was taking, I would've lost all motivation. At week 5, 6 pounds were gone seemingly over night. If you haven't been taking meaurements, then you should see a difference in how your clothes are…
  • I mix 1/4 cup steel cut oats with 1/8 cup bulgur and add 1/4 cup pumpkin or mixed berries or 1 TBS Trader Joes Pumpkin Butter; 1 oz chopped pecans and 2TBS brown sugar (I don't add the brown sugar if I use the Pumpkin Butter it'll make it waaaay too sweet). I agree with others, oatmeal goes with everything! Good luck!

  • MFPs got me at 1250/day or 1550 w/ exercise. I usually go over by 100 or 200 a day. So, I'm really confused, maybe this is a fluke? Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Calorie Counter
  • Hello everyone, I'm just really confused. I worked my but off for the last 6 weeks only to have the scale plateu for 4 of them. I lost 5lbs in the first week (water weight) then all inches (so I'm not complaining). I started monitoring my calories with MFP 2 weeks ago and now all of the sudden I'm down 3.5lbs. I'm glad…
  • I have the same addiction. I work nights and have 3 kids, so my days are very long. I've found that when my "habit' gets out of hand, I start backing off the caffeine by drinking 1/2 decaf and 1/2 regular. If I go cold turkey I get the WORST withdrawal headaches you can imagine:sad: So, once I start with the 1/2 and 1/2…
  • Allow yourself 1 bad day, then you won't feel deprived of "fun" foods like a burger. If you know you want one, then allow for it in your calorie "bank". You won't feel guilty and you won't feel deprived by allowing it on occassion. Hope this helps:-)

  • It looks like you're eating alot of carbs which burn quickly making you feel hungry a short time after eating. I bought my self the Biggest Loser Series just to learn how to get healthy. I also bought the Nutrition for Dummies book. Although I've "dieted" previously by eating what I thought was healthy, I even tracked my…
