  • O, and your stomach won't get "big" with the ab machine. Especially if you focus on higher reps with lower weight.
  • to tone your midsection. you should focus on core movements that hit your back, sides, lower, and upper abs. Planks, crunches, reverse crunches, any workout on a stability ball, etc. google "core workouts" for more ideas! :flowerforyou:
  • I've gone both ways: Working out and not watching my diet / dieting with no excercise. They go hand in hand!! Right now I'm doing my Tae Bo (It's so dang fun and one of the few things that will get me out of bed at 4:45am!) and watching my diet. This weekend I had a revelation when I walked into an Aeropostale store with…
  • Welcome! :flowerforyou:
  • It seriously kicks your butt :drinker: The biggest thing with it is doing it every day (at least 6 times a week) and following a great diet. Which is where I go wrong....
  • What I have learned is that finding someone to blame doesn't solve the problem. What I have learned is that we have to band together and vow to solve the problem instead of finding and grouping people into the wrong group. Like dieting, focusing on the bad makes it worse. Focus on your strengths and grow stronger!…

  • I think it has to do with your body metabolising the sugar (which there's a lot!) so quickly in fruits that they can actually make you feel hungry. Chocolate, wine or any liquer, do the same thing to me. Try eating the apple with a protein like string cheese or skip the apple and grab fresh cucmbers. Slice and dice and you…
  • I heart you.....
  • I have MANY books, at my young age of 24, on "diets": South Beach, Fat Flush, french women don't get fat, just to name a few! And, yes, they all have their perks and their silly ideas.....Mostly, though, they have great "try this instead of that" recipes. I mean NO bread? Not happening! A milloin weird vitamins and a…
  • Keep switching it up! Try everything. Plus, weight lifting helps you to avoid that "loose skin look" and staves off the possibility of gaining it all back. Women tend to be scared of weight lifting but I am dead serious, you have to TRY to bulk up to actually bulk!!
  • Chocolate. I don't care what kind or how it got there....if it's there, it's going in my mouth!

  • Welcome! This is a GREAT site! Just remember that it took time to put on, it'll take time to take off. We lose a lot of our focus when we forget to be patient :flowerforyou:

  • :flowerforyou: Get better soon! What is your "minimum" caloric intake? That is the one I would stick to.
  • Hi!! Welcome, you're going to do fab here! :flowerforyou:
  • I've heard many takes on it. And it all depends on who you surround yourself with. I lost over 30 pounds one year and not a single person said a thing! What you should consider is your reasons for losing this weight. Focus on you and your health (and maybe keep a pair of your "fat jeans" around to try on anytime you're…
  • Yes, I'm having the same issue..... Thanks!!
  • Drinking half your body weight will simply offset the effects of all the sodium we eat and keep your bodily functions functioning. You'll urinate A LOT so start slowly. If you drink too much too fast it may cause a UTI. Focus on taking it slow and you will do GREAT here. I promise. (I've been around for awhile, changed my…

  • These ladies are correct. But you may try "zig zagging" your calories. And always eat your excercise calories. 1500 is the necessary calories to function for me, a desk-jockie. With you up and running around all day, I can imagine you need every ounce allotted to you. Best of luck!:flowerforyou:
  • With a stronger need and want! You all may know me better as Fab140.....I've managed to keep gaining weight due to lack of stick-with-it-ness! I am now 194 (as of this morning) and I plan on losing 2 pounds a week to make my halfway goal of 30 pounds by Memorial Day when I go out to see my extended family. Wish me…
  • Congrats on quitting smoking! It's a very hard thing to do! And welcome to a great site :flowerforyou: I've been here a few times before, though I always made excuses and ended up GAINING weight. Just stick with it and be honest with yourself and you will see your goals met and maintained!
