  • More fresh fruits and vegetables and less processed food - I bet you'll see a change!!
  • I don't on MFP - but I do enter my weight daily on my Happy Scale app.
  • I take tracking breaks sometimes - but if my weight starts a creep up, I start tracking. I just have to remember that even if it isn't tracked - as long as it goes in my mouth - it's a calorie. So I eat like I'm tracking, if that makes sense. An app that has come in handy for me for maintenance is Happy Scale. I weigh…
  • To maintain a 123 GW, you wont' make too many changes from loss mode, at least that is my experience, because your BMR will be fairly low. I am still exercising the same, and maybe eating a few hundred calories more a day. It takes just as much effort and attention to maintain as it does to lose, in my opinion. I tend to…
  • It makes me hungry to read your diary. Good Lord - you are hardly eating. You definitely need to eat more - add in vegetables, salads, fruits. Those will add volume but not a ton of calories. If MFP is giving you 1200 calories, that includes the deficit so don't try to go under that.
  • Try throwing more fresh vegetables in there with fewer processed foods. If you like to eat out a few times a week aim for broiled fish or meat, veggie side dishes. Avoid the fried stuff. You might want to invest in a food scale to make sure that you area really eating the portions that you think your are. I know most of us…
  • I'm on my second one - had the first one for 5 years and just got it swapped out. No trouble with weight gain or side affects here. And I've been period free for 5.5 of those years! Everyone's body reacts differently to it - it emits hormones so if you are sensitive to that, then it might hinder you. But don't let it be an…

  • It doesn't hurt coming out - very quick.

  • At 5'2" you probably aren't burning as many calories as you think you are. I never go with what MFP says it thinks I burn - I usually cut their estimate in half.
  • My advice would be to eat more real food, and fewer processed snacks like the granola bars, ice cream bars etc etc. Are you a vegetarian? Lean proteins, whole grains, maybe even a few more calories. Most of your calories seem to come from the snacky items and not real foods.

  • MFP could be overestimating your calorie burn, and seeing as you are coming fairly close to eating all of your calories each day (including the exercise calories) you could be having a deficit on MFP, but not for real. Maybe try eating back only 1/2 of those exercise calories. And make sure you switched your activity level…
  • Sometimes I chew a strong mint gum. It makes my mouth minty and I'm less likely to want to eat anything for a while because the flavor will be "off". I think it's Extra Polar Ice. I also like the dessert gums (key lime pie) to trick myself into thinking I'm getting something sweet. And only 5 calories!
  • I sort of ignore it. I am in maintenance mode so it's nice to know how much I am burning on a daily basis (not workout days) above what my BMR is. My BMR is 1124 and usually I have about 1700 calories of fitbit burn a day. I eat between 1400 and 1600 calories a day and am holding steady. Unless I have a super heavy cardio…
  • She has lost zero pounds? Or is just losing more slowly than she'd like? She is probably over-estimating her calorie burn, and under estimating how many calories she's consuming.
  • I'm going to buy a scale so I can eat more shredded cheese!! What brand of scale is that?
  • It is possible that you are over estimating calorie burn and under estimating calories consumed. So if you are eating all of your calories every day you may not have the deficit you think you do.
  • I have one and really enjoy it. My category on MFP is "sedentary" because I have a desk job, but I was always curious about how many calories I'm burning by the moving that I do, other than exercise. I am in a beta testing group to link MFP to Fit Bit and it's really cool because as I synch, the calories I'm burning by…
  • I have had the Mirena for almost 5 years and have had no weight issues related to it. I had the copper one before and had horrible periods - so if that is what you are experiencing the bloat could come from that. I'd talk to your doctor - maybe any kind of IUD is not for you and you need to choose some other kind, maybe a…
  • Eat more. You should be at least eating your BMR (look under Tools to find out what it is).
  • From looking at your diet it does seem like you eat a fairly high sodium diet. Try keeping that down and mixing in more fresh fruits and vegetables. Also maybe invest in a food scale so you can really keep track of portion size. I think unless we are measuring, literally, most of us underestimate our portions. If you don't…
  • I am "sedentary" too meaning I work a desk job. I don't log anything as exercise unless it is really exercise like going for a walk, run or working out. I found that MFP tends to overestimate my calorie burn so I was afraid I'd have too many exercise calories and be tempted to eat them.
  • I don't think it is as much a matter of your weight, but more how toned you are. Muscle tone takes a while. I'm 5'2" and around 118. I have muscle tone in my arms and legs, with strength training/body sculpt class 2x a week for about a year. It was probably six months before I saw some tone that you could see without…
