Hi I re-started keto/exercising 6/1. Exercising not so much just yet. Got pretty sunburned over the weekend - very badly but did start keto and at least starting there. Trying to meal prep for the week and getting the planning going for that. That is always my downfall - not being prepared!

I'd love to join - I need to lose at least 50 but 20 by Christmas/end of the year!

the cuff can affect the accuracy of the reading as well (too small; too big).

I am just starting week 4 on contrave and also take phentermine. I had some of the mild side effects but they literally disappeared the end of week 3. I am not yet convinced the contrave is really doing anything. I have lost about 10 pounds, but had already been losing and was on phentermine before my dr added contrave.…

I also am on it and just started week 4. I had the initial brain fog, occasional headache and a little nausea but all my side effects literally disappeared the end of week 3. I'm taking 2:2 now. I've lost 10 pounds since being on it - but not sure the pill has anything to really do with it as I'm eating a lot less and…

I'm on them - feel free to add me.

I am on them and have been on the in the past (Adipex/phentermine generic). In the past I did very well with them for the first few months. Now I have 80 lbs to lose and my dr prescribed them. The first few days you will be very jittery but extremely "busy" -- you will get so, so much done! It's a great time to plan…

Wow amazing job!!

I just signed up for Farrells and am in week 3 and down 12 pounds so far. That's awesome you lost 40 pounds!!!!
-
I've used it several times in the past and will just say initially it can be a good tool as initially you get a huge boost of energy and loss of appetite. After a few weeks, the effects to wear off and eventually you have to come off of them.

Thanks Andrew! I've been researching - for a month straight. It literally has consumed me - with worry and confusion. But I am seeing the newer research that solidifies what you have proven in your own situation. In one way this was a big turning point for me to get with the program and get this weight off once and for…

I didn't get the total this last time - just the particles and other lipids. However, I will say that my total cholesterol through the years, even last year, was at the very top end of "normal". Next time you go to the dr., just ask them to draw the lipid panel for the particle count, etc. I think it's a fairly newer…

Thanks for the input! This is great to know. My dr. did the Barkley's test too. First time I've ever had it. My total ldl-particles are very high (2,400) and my small ldl particles are high at 1,400 (500 would be optimal). I have researched so many medical studies the past month and it seems like if I get my ldl particle…

The LDL particle count is a different test than the standard total cholesterol tests most docs do. Here is a good explanation. Even people with "normal" cholesterol total levels can have very high LDL particles - this is why some with perfect cholesterol numbers are still having heart attacks. My total cholesterol is not…
-
Yes my dr. told me to do that due to the side effects I'm having. Yes, my ldl particle count is 2,400 - that is NOT a typo. LDL particle counts are not the same as the standard LDL cholesterol number.

Thanks for sharing! You are doing awesome and such an inspiration to many of us who are where you once were!

Thanks for sharing! Great story and I"m where you were so this came at a great time for me!

I have used Hydroxycut water flavor stuff before and love the taste. When I went to my dr. and had my labs drawn my liver enzymes were very high. My dr was really puzzled and I was sitting there knowing darn well why they were messed up and didn't say a peep! He made me go back in a few weeks for a re-draw. I quit taking…

I'm on day 1/P1. I've done similar lower carb in the past with success. I'm doing this because i'm 100 lbs overweight and on 2 blood pressure meds and still it runs high! I've heard so much good things from the FB group about how it really brings your blood pressure down (and weight) so I've got to do this!! Feel free to…

Feel free to add me - I'm 5'2 and have 80 lbs to lose. :(

You might want to get your thyroid completely checked out -- not just the standard test. Find a dr. who will do your reverse, conversion rate, etc. This affects all that you are having issues with. I also have vitamin B and D deficiencies, severe mood swings, etc. and getting on a little T3 thyroid really solved many of my…

I'm in at around 120 to lose.. Add me!

Are these like the old McD's "salad shakers?" I loved those things and something about shaking it all up makes it taste so much better; dressing (less) gets distributed easily. I never thought to do them in a mason jar!
-
Add me too! I have about 110 lbs to lose. It's a frustrating struggle but after losing my close friend 2 weeks ago (also overweight) I'm determined to get healthy!
-
Wow - great job!

Wow so inspiring! Thanks for sharing!

Feel free to add me! I am also on 2 different blood pressure meds. Have been on 1 since my 20's (before my weight was an issue as hbp runs in the family) but this past December, my bp was stroke high and I have had to add a 2nd med. I too need to get my weight under control and get my health in check! I have about 80 lbs…

I once lost 65 lbs by changing my diet and walking. That was it. Walking doesn't cost anything and you can bring your kids if you don't have anyone to keep them. Put them in a stroller or have them ride their bikes/skate with you while you walk. Then it's a double whamy - you get to spend time with them and you are also…

I suffer with this mindset as well (not losing quickly - so why bother!). I have a horrible time keeping my thyroid meds in balance and it seems like no matter how hard I work out and eat good -- losing even 1 lb is a LOT of work. I read a post the other day about the poster saying she had 100 lbs to lose and that was such…
