  • Just throw that crap away. I don't own one - never have, never will. It only paints one small part of the picture. If your clothes are fitting fine, and you like what you see in the mirror, it's pointless to let 6 different numbers in the span of one weigh-in dictate how you feel about yourself. I just don't get the point…

  • Ugh -- only hit 11,470 today. Did park far away from my building and also did my long evening walk. But didn't get to walk at lunch due to too many meetings. Will do better tomorrow!
  • Joining here late but hope to do 12,500 a day. Will post my days up until now later tonight. Let's do this!!!! Yesterday-- 10,767. I'm parking farther and farther away from my building at work --- helps!
  • Love the flex and now that they've just updated the dashboard I love it even more. I report my eating on MFP and use the Flex for tracking the activity. I'm a huge walker so it works for me --- when I bike there is a place to enter that activity manually over at the Flex log page. I track my water on Flex, too. I don't…
  • Feel free to add me. I've started over as well, have logged in for 30 days straight and lost 10 lbs. Feeling great and always great to have and give some friends daily affirmation. We can do it!:flowerforyou:
  • I've been using Whole Food's 365 Whey Protein Powder, Natural Vanilla flavor. 80 cal in a scoop: 16 g protein. I use this as a meal replacement: 1.5 cup of cold plain soy milk (Westsoy), banana, protein powder, 1 Tbsp of organic smooth peanut butter. Blend that up with about 4 ice cubes. Delicious! This provides you with…
  • LOL!!!!!!!! (fridge attack pic).
  • Great answer and I totally agree. If you are eating enough calories you aren't really hungry. SO MUCH of this whole thing is mental. One other tip --- the more you watch TV (unless you are watching non commercial TV) the more you will think about food. You are being bombarded with images of food. How can you not think…
  • Resisting the donuts my co-worker tends to bring in on Fridays. Didn't touch 'em!!
  • frankly, you need to exercise more. Add it in gradually as the other MFPer said. Take the kids for a good walk with you. Or if you do exercise DVDs at home, get the older ones to work out with you as much as they can and have the little ones nearby with coloring books and crayons, that kind of things. I dont' think you…
  • I'm in! I've been on MFP for about three weeks and loving it.....now up for a structured goal/challenge. How do we track this? Do we start Sept. 1?
  • I agree with some others -- you may be actually craving water. drink a hefty amount of water after your ride and wait to see how you feel. You shouldn't be craving food so much if you are eating properly at meals. Your post doesn't say whether you are also trying to lose weight....you might just be more mindful of adding…
  • Quick protein ideas -- I will eat chicken about once a week but that's about it. No red meat here unless I'm eating at someone's house to be polite. Low fat cottage cheese on a bagel or english muffin at breakfast. Tofu -- my personal favorite. Egg it and roll lightly in flour -- fry in olive oil. Add to veggie stir fry…
  • I put them in oatmeal in the morning (seeds). We already take fish oil supplements but I want the flax seeds too -- I'll basically do anything I can to lower my husband's cholesterol naturally.
  • Sounds delish! Just bought quinoa and anxious to try.
  • Completely awesome! You own it!!! Great job!
  • Good work, Troy! You can do this. Don't get overwhelmed. One day at a time....
  • Completely AWESOME! How pretty you look! Keep going!!!!
  • LOL! You took the words out of my mouth!
  • I'm 56 and it's definitely harder as you get older. But....I figure this is my chance to get my act together before I get into actual old age. I don't want to enter senior years as a fat old lady. No thank you to diabetes, heart disease, etc. etc. I want to be a skinny hot old babe! We can do it! Feel free to add me as…
  • Hey, I'm getting back on track too and just read your post! Thanks for the inspiration. I've been off MFP for about a year....sort of wandering around in the wilderness here. :ohwell: Too much work and not much keeping balanced with my health. I've been being real careful with my diet for about two weeks and starting my…
  • Oh my gosh, lucky girl. La belle Montreal! Go see the public garden -- its spectacular. Also the insect zoo which may not sound great but is actually amazing -- I don't even like bugs.
  • I'm sure you're right and I think it has something with lowering the amount of sugar -- esp high fructos corn syrup that prepared foods are loaded with. I'm definitely feeling less jazzed up and more stable where moods are concerned. But, honestly, I think the extra exercise also plays a huge role. I feel much more calm.…
  • Wow, thanks all for the great support and ideas. I now realize I need to keep this in perspective --- I am definitely going to start measuring. You guys are great! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools
  • You rock! I'm new too and have lost 9 lbs. This site is awesome! I've never felt so in control of my calories, exercise, water intake...everything. It is helping me out so much. I don't have to much time for the message boards :grumble: with work and family...but had to come by and give you some well earned props.
  • I'm in! It's gonna rain here tomorrow but I'll figure out the exercise part somehow!!!
