Hi Jess, I have my first marathon planned for the end of May (in Edinburgh). I've completed a couple of halfs and a ride from London to Paris since I started this journey a couple of years back but I have put a few of the pounds I lost initially back on in recent months - Not too many mind! Do you have a time in mind for…

We cycle to Dover and then take the short ferry across to Calais. Should be fun! Re: the cross UK ride, we cycled the 'Coast to Coast' route which is a popular cycle route from Whitehaven to Tynemouth. We had a organised back up vehicle which was great. We also managed to raise £25,000 for charity, between 5 of us in the…

I got my road bike last summer, I cycled across the UK last August and I'm in training to ride from London - Paris in August of this year!

A metallic taste in your mouth can actually be a 'symptom' of losing weight. I'm not sure of the science behind it but I heard it from my Dr once. I just googled it to make sure it was true...and it would seem to be the case!

Princess you should lose more than that. You will lose 1.5lb per week if you just stick to the 1200cals and do no exercise! With doing all that exercise, theoretically you should lose nearly another pound a week on top! However, make sure you eat some of your exercise cals back!!! If you're only eating 1200 and using…

That's great! I managed the longest distance I've ever run last night, 8-miles! It's a great feeling hey?

ickybella and bjshooter I'm sure you'll both be in the 10's in no time! Good luck!

I had a similar problem. I spoke to some 'runner' friends who advised me to get a video gait analysis done at a specialist running shop. This analysis allows them to see your precise running style in super slow motion. Based on this they can select a pair of shoes that best matches your requirements since some will…

I used to hate running but you soon get the bug. I hardly ran before May but now run at least three times a week. The 5km time is coming down fairly well as well! Good luck on the 5k, with that cycling under your belt you certainly have the base fitness level to run the 5k in a great time!

Hi Hannah, great to see more and more people on this site. I was dubious of using this site...even after my gf had been on it for a while and seen results. But I'm so glad I signed up 7 months ago. Good luck and if you want to add me as a friend feel free.

Hi Katy, you can just add it as 'Aerobics General'. A dietician friend also confirmed that it would burn, on average, 400cals per hour so this sounds sensible.

You can't go much wrong with a simple walk. I do a 45minute walk most lunch times which helps at the end of the day!

Cycled 160-miles from one side of the country to the other, training to ride from London - Paris....and running 15-miles a week!

She does get around a bit...apparently she now lives in Cambridge, Cambridgehsire....yet she is still a stay at home 'Mom'......er, I think you'll find that's 'Mum' in the UK! BIG scam...BIG Fail!

I'm sure many in the UK feel your pain Herewego! Since joing MFP I have definitely gone to the pub less.....mainly as I am in the gym a lot more often these days! But on the days I do go to the pub with friends I make a point of doing an extra hard or long workout on the bike or in the gym and this goes a long way to…

Sure this isn't what you want to hear but I suggest making it yourself...
